Google cam port with wide angle on T-Mobile - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

I see this latest update from Urnyx05 version 1.9 is supposed to be able to use the wide angle/telephoto on the OP 8 & 8 Pro. But I've enabled it on the T-Mobile version and it still crashes when trying to switch to the wide angle lens. Has anyone on the T-Mobile version gotten this to work?

Is the HTC Fuze the same as the HTC Touch Pro

what is the "HTC Fuze"? Just ATT's name for the Touch Pro?
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...details/?device=HTC+FUZE(TM)&q_sku=sku3090226
Thanks
-crobs808
Correct. There is a just a few modifications between them. Such as the FUZE not having a forward facing camera, and the keyboard layout is different.
Switching to ATT?
Ahh darn, that is one of my wants, the front-facing camera. Can you buy a version that will work with ATT that has that camera? I am thinking about switching from Verizon to ATT, and want to take a step up from the 6800 that I currently have.
If only the HTC Touch HD had a slideout keyboard.
There are my requirements...
-Runs Windows Mobile 6+
-At least 256M RAM (not ROM)
-Supports TomTom (via aGPS or true GPS)
-Have a full slideout keyboard
-Forward-facing camera (not required, but greatly desired)
Does ATT allow using your phone as a modem? Like teathered over ActiveSync and using Internet Sharing? I do this all the time on my XV6800 on Verizon and I never get extra charges for it.
Thanks,
Actually, they both have rear facing cameras, the fuze keyboard is different and the Fuze is GSM. The Verizon and Sprint Touch Pros are CDMA.

By "rear" facing, you mean on the front of the camera, facing the user right?
On the ATT site, it shows they put the ATT logo where the Camera should be, and in all the photos of the used or refub Fuze's being sold online, there is no front camera for the "ATT" specific labeled ones. So which is it?

... no... as you are looking at the screen the camera faces away....to the rear on the phone.
why do u want a front facing camera? none of the carriers support true video calling anyway so who cares??
i have the fuze
once you put a custom rom on you should be in love
verizones version of the touch pro is absoloute crap
TP2 will be ok

how is the CDMA/Verizon version "crap"? It is identical hardware as the Fuze. In fact, the CDMA version has two cameras (front and back), the ATT Fuze has only one, so if anything the Fuze is worse, but both are identical chips, processors, ram, boards, etc...just different communication chips is all, which has no effect on processing power or speed, etc...
How is the CDMA version any different? (except for having a mroe reliable network protocol)
also - i want a forward facing camera for 2 reasons. 1) because that is the way HTC made it, and it is not ATT's job to request a different hardware setup that is more constricted, and 2) um duh...here's why - LINK: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/windowsmobile/
You need a forward facing phone for video conferencing (supported with unlimited data plans) whiehc everyone pretty much has these days.
Actually, Verizon cripples the hell out of their product. Everything on verzion will always be worse because of this. here...
Verizon's version of the HTC Touch Pro is crippled right out of the box. Locked GPS, much less RAM and no YouTube app. TouchFlow 3D eats up too much of the meager RAM. With tweaks, it is a decent device (excellent call quality), but Verizon gets no points for crippling a potentially amazing piece of hardware. Go with Sprint or AT&T if you don't need the Verizon network.
here is the proof...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej_BENjjeb8
go with the fuze or the touch pro sprint
And here is a complete list of each device and its differences... tisk tisk verizon...192 mb of ram
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-...ouch-pro-vs-t-s-fuze-vs-verizon-s-xv6850.html
yeah so just the ram is different. everyone here unlocks and uses custom roms/radios, so the GPS and youtube app missing are no big deal since you can fix it in seconds. i think im gonna stay with verizon, but get a Sprint touch pro and use it with vzw
thanks!

Global LTE Bands?

Hey all,
With the official global Mix 3 being out, is band 13 still only on the 8/256 model? I recently bought a 6t and am on VZW, but realize I should have just gotten the Mix3 as planned.
According to https://www.mi.com/global/mix3/specs/ it looks like band 13 is available on the 6/128gb global version now. Have the Mix devices worked on VZW historically though?
I used the Mix 2 on Verizon for almost a year. Worked fine... I even used the original Mix on Verizon. It would occasionally drop to 3g because it was missing one of the LTE bands but otherwise worked fine. Far as I know the mix 3 will work fine on Verizon as well.
Can't read it directly from my phone, but the mini manual thing that comes in the box lists these bands on the 6GB/128GB global model: 1/3/7/8/20/34/38/40 tho they could be wrong. I'd very much would like to read this info somehow directly from the phone, which bands it supports, but have yet to find that option.

That is what I saw on the website, which made me question it. Previously, band 13 was only available on the 8/256 and 10/256.

Never mind. Just saw it on XDA. Global version launched today, has band 13. Well. Time to sell this 6T
Verizon user here. I had a Mix 2s that was destroyed by a local repair shop dropping the logic board (took me a long time to figure that out) when they were replacing the screen. I should've just replaced the screen myself. I have a Mix 3 now (the 8/256 model) with the Global rom that was leaked a few weeks ago. Our organization has multiple in building repeaters as well as some smaller offices that have the "home" repeaters meant for < 5 users. My phone gets LTE coverage as expected everywhere and the signal levels are consistently BETTER than my Pixel 2 XL or my Pixel XL. They seem to be slightly better than the Pixel 3 XL I have. I think this phone is one of the best hardware packages you are going to get and the price can't be beat for the quality. Battery life was a minor concern, but the new OLED screen seems to make up for the fact it has a smaller battery than other similar devices. I've done several long distance road trips and had no issues with roaming or coverage. I've found one spot on a section of interstate near me where it drops to 1x, but the other phone I had dropped to no signal (Pixel 2 XL).
I did have to mess with the device to get the APNs setup. On the global rom it looks like you can just add one yourself. On the chinese rom, I had to mount /system as RW in TWRP and then overwrite the apns file to get a working APN for VZW MMS. ***I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS*** but I think you can just download the Messages+ app (which I kind of hate) and use it without fixing the MMS in the APNs. That is the Verizon app for texting. Using Messages+ allows me to send full quality pictures and GIFs that actually work as well as receive them. There is some kind of issue with the stock setup on MIUI that stops it from sending or receiving larger than 30KB MMS messages. This is documented all over and no one else I've found has posted a fix. If I have time I am planning on trying to see if there is a system setting that can be modified to fix that 30KB limitation, but the Messages+ app just bypasses it. If you have any questions feel free to ask here and I'll share/help.

Do you know the correct Verizon APN(s) to add (on global)? Or where I could find it? There seem to be multiple versions after a quick Google.
So here's the thing. If you use messages+ from Verizon, it ignores the missing MMSC. Everything else works by default so I just started using Messages+ since you can send and receive MMS and large gifs and stuff. I can give you ones that will work, but the other messaging apps limit you to 30kb MMS.

OnePlus 7 Pro now compatible with Visible Wireless (Verizon MVNO)

With the latest OOS 9.5.13 the OP 7 Pro is now compatible with Visible Wireless (Verizon MVNO). Everything works, voice, text and data, without having to manipulate APNs or request enabling CDMA-less. Visible hasn't officially made the announcement yet but this is great for anyone who wants to use a Verizon based service for much cheaper than post paid. Anyone else been able to try their drive on Visible?

How do we know it works correctly on a US variant of this phone? Do you have one and is using it on that network?
I can't get Visible to recognize my imei as compatible on their website. Currently using vzw prepaid.

Just tell the site you're bringing over an iPhone, then it won't check for IMEI. Working great on on my 7 Pro here, didn't have to do anything else once I got the sim.

It varies, but generally fine. Friday I got limited below 1mps when I went downtown. Yesterday I broke 100mbps. Haven't been a situation where it's bothered me yet.

Thanks just wondering since they advertised vowifi I thought maybe they would have standardized it finally.
BTW Google Voice won't work over wifi on the 7Pro like it does on some phones. You have to install Hangouts and Hangouts Dialer and use those with your Google voice number.

Never noticed that about google voice on 7pro....you're correct in airplane mode-need hangouts. Here is the funny thing,if I download Google Voice on my Chromebook it works without Hangouts installed.

Verizon video chat also does not work however that only worked between Verizon Android phones anyway.
Just a head's up - Visible is not currently compatible with Oxygen OS 10 (Android 10). It will not activate. Google Fi is also not compatible. It will activate, but you will lose your mobile data constantly.

No, once you update you will lose service. I took a look at the apn-conf.xml and telephony.db files and all visible entries were removed on Android 10. Attempted to replace the files from 9.5.13 but still didn't work.
Looks Line a reversion issue where 10 was forked before the the fix in 9. Likely it is on the list to fix

OneUI 3.1 RCS

Is anyone else having problems with RCS in stock messaging app on OneUI 3.1 when I downgrade to Android10 it either works by itself or is possible to enable using alliance shield X but after 3.1 update even if i activate it it won't work...the chat settings appear but all messages are sent as SMS only. Any ideas?

Same. But we also lost our 5g service...we are on tmobile
That's why I sold my Snapdragon and got back exynos I couldn't get 5G to work at all
I have tmobile and no issues with 5g. But rcs no longer works with the workaround
It's intermittent like they are working on the 5g tower nearby or something. It's not all the time which is strange

Here in vegas they have been upgrading towers. The one on my house would not work then after a few hours the download speeds went from 40mbits to 140mbits. So might be that.
Ok here on Verizon and 3.1.

Verizon 5G

Can't seem to find any A12 ROMs that support 5G on Verizon. Anybody know if any, or a way to enable it?
CherishOS 3.8 works great for me on Verizon 5g. I tried others but this one gets full data speeds and it's android 12. Pretty much any a12 rom works with verizon 5g though if you want to tinker.
