Sorry to hear that mate
As long as I know, unless you had installed an anti theft software on your stolen device, it won´t be possible (Hope I´m worng)
They toss your sim card?
Anywho, phones have a unique IMEI number right? couldn't the phone companies see if anyone trys to use it, even with a different sim card? Heck, they could triangulate where the person is using it if he is in range of 3 towers! Lord knows they wont help you that much but they can atleast disable the IMEI and make it worthless to the a-hole.
diff countries diff rules here
when my phone got stolen i gave the IMEI to the police
and they got it blocked from any domestic phone service
and any other countires service's the domestic company's had roaming
or other agreements with
I don't know how it works in India, but in the UK we can call up our network operator and as long as the phone is registered with them, they can block the IMEI number.
The other major networks will then block the phone within 24-48 hours. That makes stealing a mobile pointless in the UK because it will almost certainly be blocked from all the major networks within 2 days.
Got it back bec of anti theft software + HTC Replied
After the phone was stolen, I didn't receive any imei and sms from the stolen phone for a day, I thought the thief was smart enough to HR the phone, but i was wrong, I got that [email protected]# [email protected]#$% imei and Cell no, went straight to the cops, they called him and told him to handover the phone, he denyed having it initially, but when cops were at his door step he confessed.
Am very happy the software worked.
Now I am seriousely thinking of embedding it inside the rom, so even if some some smart A$% HR's it, I will still get it back.
Vodafone in India didnt co-operate at all.
Thanks everyone for showing concern.

Reg and Phone Unlock

Hello,
I want to unlock my phone because it is network locked.
I have the IMEI and the IMSI num, my phone is developper unlocked.
I will do because in France, there is a new law which permit to change operator without revocation fees due to a taxes increasing on the mobile bill.
But to have the unlock code free, you must wait 6 month, and the law is suitable only for 4 months.
I think that the unlock code is in the registry or you can revoke the lock by writing the registry.
Thanks.
Maybe this can help How to Unlock Samsung Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7 Phone
Ps: which law you are talking about? Loi Chatel?
[I can't put any URL]
There is lots of article in Google with those keywords : "Augmentation TVA Mobile"
In fact, the global taxes (called TVA) for mobile will grow 5.5% to 19.6% in February (the first).
So the government has decided to permit to leave freely your operator to choose another without pay any revocation fee.
We can benefit of this favor for 4 month, but I bought my Phone in December.
So I can change operator but I must pay to unlock it by the operator.
I already tested your solution but it's doesn't work because we must buy a 250$ box in addition of this software is detected as a virus.

Thank you, I received a letter from SFR too, but didn't pay attention to it
It seems you can even end your "contrat". But it seems we have no choice anyways, because with another operator, we are going to pay 19.6% TVA anyways!
But it's an argument to reduce the bill when you call revocation service.
If your phone is unlocked you can go out and I'm pretty sure that there will have a price war to grab clients of other operator.
I haven't received the letter for the moment (SFR too).

Out of topic.
Ok, so the man asked for a solution to unlock his phone, and you all started talking about VAT and taxes in France...is this the way to help someone?
Ok if you want to unlock your phone, I have not found a free solution yet but for a cheap paid solution you can go to xtcclip . com website. The tool is simple and costs around 21 pounds (in euros is less). This is a fair solution as you can unlock an unlimited number of phones with that stuff.

The XTC is for HTC phones only. Great if you have one. Useless if you don't.

Cloned IMEI?

Hello,
I'm on vacation in Turkey right now and bought a SIM-card with a dataplan from Avea, without a contract.
Have been using it for about a week, and today I got this message:
864xxxxxxxxxxxxxx IMEI No'lu cihaz kayit disi oldugu icin 28/09/2015 tarihinde kullanim disi kalacaktir. Lutfen satin aldiginiz yere basvurunuz.
Which according to Google translate means:
No. unregistered IMEI 864xxxxxxxxxxxxxx device that is on the outskirts of use will remain on 28/09/2015 . Please contact the place of purchase, please .
Isn't this very strange? I can confirm that the IMEI number in the text is the same as in my phone.
I'm from Sweden, and never had any issue of this kind before.
So I googled a bit and it seems the Turks are getting it every now and then, and they're talking about cloned IMEI's and such.
Should I be worried?
Its not about cloning .Every single phones imported get imei registration İn Turkey, the companies importing the phones handle the registration.Since you are a tourist in Turkey your phone is not registered and you have 2 months to register the imei, after 2 months, your imei will be blacklisted and you wont able to use it. I think your visit in Turkey wont be that long, so you are nothing to worry about.Have a nice vacation and welcome to Turkey any time
I think this is a protection to make the dealing of stolen phones unattractive

Hi.
It was also my first guess that your imei is probably used by someone else.
I saw something similar in turkey, where you have to register your smartphone on your name in the national communication office, to be able to use it completely free, or otherwise your sim gets blocked for that specific imei. And the registration costs about 200 euros i guess ( not sure ) .. so people transfered imei numbers from already activated smartphones or (notlegal!) other devices with stolen imei (/notlegal!)
I don't want to give you bad advice but as far as i know, it doesn't look that well for you.....
Their a guy on Facebook that can unblacklist my s6 but for $80 US but considering the rand to dollor is so weak, it will just be very expensive.
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Forums
Root your phone try phone id changer pro apk google it change imei with it see if it works...
