I'm basically looking for the exact fuction that Google Photo's "Express Backup" feature offers however from what I understand it is only available in India.
Is there any way to enable this feature? or install the India version?
Alternatively, does anyone know of any other apps that offer this equiv feature? Allow backup of photos and videos at lower resolution to save data. Then, ideally, replace the backup with high quality version later when WIFI is available.

Hi guys,
I have recently updated my VSCO app to the newest version, 17. The new version is very buggy with my phone and I can't import any new photos or export any of my current photos. I have so many photos I only have in VSCO and I really don't want to loose them. Is there a way that I can uninstall and reinstall the app, to an earlier version without loosing the data associated with the app?
Things you might need to know
VSCO 17
Nexus 5x
Android 7.1.1
NOT rooted unfortunately, otherwise I would just go get the photos in the root directory of VSCO...
Let me know if you know of a way to solve this issue!
Thank you very much!
Hi,
working my way to de-google my life I am happy user of ASOP for years and now I decided to go one step forward and got myself a NAS.
looking for google photos alternative I found PhotoSync. Looks like a usefull app but it is paid via google store. I do not mind paying for it - I just do not want to have use google at all.
I wrote to the support asking if there is an alternative way to pay for the license but I am not hoping for positive answer - but let's see.
So I am looking for alternatives to this app google photos in general - auto backup, sync, photo/video viewer connected to my NAS, also similar app for win/ubuntu would be nice to get full experience.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi guys.
I love Google Photos backup service, but I'm disappointed that I have to pay now for backing up at original quality (Pixel 3 XL).
So, i have installed Magisk in my second device (Xiaomi Tablet) and installed Google Photo Spoofing module by Bladerunner&Sairam60.
It has worked great in January but from this month the device says having unlimited backup, but when Google Photos is making the backup, files are counted in Google space.
Why? Is there something wrong? Can you help me please?
Thanks a lot.

Unlimited backup at original quality was only available for the original Pixel. Pixels up to the 5 get unlimited Storage Saver backups.
My old Pixel 2 is on it's last legs and I only use it for syncing photos from other devices to Google Photos. I see that certain ROMs offered Unlimited Original Quality Backup in Google Photos (Havoc Pie, Evolution X 5.1, Proton 11) but none of these are available for download anymore. I know that most ROMs available offer unlimited reduced quality backups, but was hoping to get original quality.
I don't care if it's an old ROM or if it's a combination of Magisk Mods to get it working. Does anybody have a solution?
Hello
I'm looking for a gallery app, that can recognize faces and objects, without needing to enable cloud backup like Google Photos.
I have too many photos and don't want to pay extra storage on google one.
On my previous OnePlus 5, everything was local, and that was enough, and misses me.
I tried to install every manufacturer gallery app (OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei...) but none can be installed or is working (probably due to dependencies / external libraries...).
So do you know a great third-party gallery app that can do that locally ?
Thanks.
Probably not what you want but you can install the xmlpak Magisk module, it'll allow you to download and install vendor apps from other manufacturers, no guarantee of it working tho.
Interesting module, I didn't know, thanks.
But I had tried by downloading APKs directly, so it won't help...
The Huawei gallery is really good (I prefer it to Google photos) and offers facial recognition too but I cant get the APK working on my Pixel 7 pro. It has some great build it photo edit options too & a decent video editor. If anyone knows of a way to get it working i'd be really keen to know.
