I booted into Recovery and was confronted with Chinese characters. I panicked for a moment but guessed right, and chose bottom-right and got out quick.
I want to install TWRP. Does anyone know where I can find instructions to navigate Recovery on NEX 3?

As TWRP can be installed without root I assumed it could. I suppose "allow the bootloader to be unlocked" doesn't mean it can be unlocked.

Im assuming you're talking about the screen saying "Warning Bootloader Unlocked"??
If so, unlock your bootloader, get a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.
Follow the instructions over here:

Download the second zip in the OP, "logo.zip"
Go to your recovery and flash it.
Your Warning Screen should be gone

This will remove the unlock message but if you check on the fastboot screen your phone will still say locked. code 2 Once unlocked you can relock the bootloader but you can never get back to a locked code 0
Forgot to mention that. What he said. Once you unlock your bootloader, it will never be 0. If you try to go for warranty or something like that, I'm assuming that's how Motorola or whatever will know you unlocked your bootloader and hence, voided your warranty.

I am trying to unlock the bootloader of my oneplus one, when using the oneplus one toolbox ive put phone into fastboot and clicked unlock bootloader but it just reboots my phone and does not change anything, ive tried doing fastboot oem unlock through cmd it says its successful but still does not change anything???
i realized that why nothing was changing was because it was already unlocked, now i have flashed supersu but i dont have root access when i open titanium it says that i can't get root access???
Did you install TWRP? You need that as well to get root.
Stop using the toolbox and do things manually, that's probably what's causing your problems. There's a guide in my signature.

Long story short fully wiped system with TWRP, then messed up more and deleted TWP, Erecovery doesn't work, Fastboot&Rescue mode says "Phone Locked" and also "FRP Unlock" In red. ADB recognizes the device but says unauthorized, and i'm just looking to restore this to the STOCK image.
Someone help please?

mHA-L29C636B180 ( I believe this is the firmware, I may be wrong since I flashed a few different custom ROMs)
You need to unlock bootloader again.
It should say Phone Unlocked.

just to make sure no one getting the trouble i had. if you bought Xiaomi devices (not sure its the devices after Redmi 4a or every devices with miui 9.5) with the bootloader already unlocked by the seller or the distributor, make sure youre registering or linked your account to the device. because when whenever youre trying to install global fastboot ROMs with the lock option selected, the device will stuck at recovery with red notification at the bottom saying "the MIUI version cant be installed on this device". the thing is after youre installing fastboot ROMs and locking bootloader of your device, you cant install global fastboot ROMs no more and left with chinese fastboot ROMs or using TWRP. since youre locking your bootloader and if your mi account is not bound to your device, you cant unlock bootloader with the official unlocking tool (it will spit out error "current account is not bound to this device") and yes youre stuck with chinese fastboot rom. you can still bind your account after youre installing the chinese fastboot ROM and unlock your bootloader, but you still cant flash the global fastboot ROMs.
so heres my story for everyone who is experiencing the same issue
i bought my whyred with the bootloader unlocked from the seller/distributor (its a normal thing here, maybe) and i have no issue what so ever in first month i bought it. im changing ROMs with every custom ROMs i found until im bored and decided to installed global fastboot ROM then locking my bootloader. so im stuck on recovery with red notification at the bottom saying "the MIUI version cant be installed on this device" after i flashed my whyred with global fastboot ROM. i thought i was installed the wrong miui ROM, but no. since i locked my bootloader and i havent bind my mi account to the device yet i cannot install custom recovery and installed fastboot ROM no more. so i left with EDL mode then. i tried to enter EDL Mode with button combinations (since miui 9.5 this was disabled, cmiiw), deep flash cable (not working anymore), adb (well i flashed device and stuck, so i cant do adb), fastboot (nope, its locked) and i left with test point methode and this is the only working methode for you with the same situation.
so i flashed ten or so global fastboot ROMs i can find from different sources just in case i have a bad day. but nope, none was working. so i flashed chinese ROM and worked, i immediately tried to unlocked my bootloader but i now faced with 240 wating time. well i guest im stuck with chinese ROM for the next 10 days. the XDA and MIUI forum said that you should be able to flash global ROMs (not sure if this includes fastboot ROMs) again after unlocking your bootloader.

I have a Phab Plus, PB1-770M that I'm trying to unlock the bootloader on. but I can't seem to get into bootloader mode. I can connect to the device with ADB, and I can run adb reboot recovery without issues, but when I try to adb reboot bootloader, it reboots and just hangs at the lenovo splash screen.
Is there anything I need to do first to get into bootloader? Is there any other way to unlock the bootloader?
I'm trying to put a more recent version of LineageOS on it, and I need to get the bootloader unlocked.

The bootloader mode doesn't actually have an interface, it's just a boot logo.
Use a computer and run "fastboot oem unlock", then flash a recovery to flash my ROMs.
