Hey everyone, I'm new to posting on these forums, but an old member for viewing them.
I was wondering if there is one, or if anybody would be able to create a 3D Camera App for this phone which doesn't have the shutter sound, because I'm finding no way to disable it, and I'm wanting to frequently take pictures of my pets but the sound constantly startles them or wakes them up.
Also, is there a way to take the built-in app to modify it and take the shutter sound out, and re-compile it as an .apk?
Thanks to anyone who posts/helps.
Disable the sound under the options table inside the camera app, but it works just for pictures camera.
Quick way of doing it is holding down power button, turn on "silent" mode, this mutes the shutter sound when recording video & pictures - either that or you can turn the shutter sound off in "settings" on your camera options, you have to scroll down on the list with Focus, Sceen mode, white balance etc...
No option.
I don't have an option to completely turn off my shutter sound.
All I have for options are:
Tone 1
Tone 2
Tone 3
Tone 4
and I can't select one to turn it off.
Also, I DO have on Silent mode and it still has the shutter sound.
When you are in the Camera app, tap on the screen so that you the left list become visible, then click the last icon(Setting), then choose shutter sound and make it off.
I don't have an "off" option.
I only have 4 options which are Tone 1, Tone 2, Tone 3 and Tone 4.
My menu list is:
Focus
Image size
Scene mode
White balance
Colour effect
Timer
Shot mode
Image quality
Auto review
Shutter sound ->
> Tone 1
> Tone 2
> Tone 3
> Tone 4
Tag location
Storage
If I double select the same tone it just replays the tone and doesn't deselect it.
It is strange, maybe it is related to the firmware version, which one do you use?
I have V10c on 2.2.2 Froyo, the July 20th build.
I'm on 10d and I have no sound, but when I was on 10b it was the same
It can be due to geographical location, some countries like Japan have rules that more or less requires shutter sound as a way to battle upskirts, illegal photographing / video etc, other countries that can behave themselves ;P don't have this restriction. Seen the issue arise on a few phones when ppl want to turn it off and some can, some can't.
How ever I would also like a 3rd-party 3D Camera that doesn't take 15hours to take a snap shot and preferably loads a bit quicker but especially one that can actually take a photo of something not standing still for 5minutes.
+1 Echts
Camera sounds cannot be disabled since it is a legal requirement in some countries, both phones and regular cameras are affected.
Here is a must have 3D photo app. 3DSteroid, that has important functions like auto-alignment (if you tilted your phone too much when shot). Not sure if there is hardware support for the built in cameras yet (don't have a 3D phone to test with yet):
https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.suto.stereoroid&feature=also_installed
You may want to try the SH version that has 3D screen hardware support for the first japanese 3D phones, may work the O3D too:
https://market.android.com/details?id=jp.suto.stereoroidsh
Here is another app tip, says that it supports the Evo 3D, may work on the O3D, give it a try and report back, Phereo 3D:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.phereo
Even if it doesnt support the camera, it is supposed to be the Flickr of 3D photos, should have something watchable on there...

This app is incompatible with your LG Optimus 3D.

10c is the personalized version for carriers. In spain for example, vodafone launched this version without the option of 2G only.
Upgrade to 10d with LG web updater.
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
I did try that, but it said I had the latest version.
Although when I tried it the first time it said there was an update available, but when I chose no, then went back into it, it said I was updated to the latest version.
Also, I'm in Canada on my Rogers LG Optimus 3D.
I couldn't upgrade via OTA (you have the last version) so I downloaded the LG update program from the web and it upgraded my O3D like a charm.
Here's the app (spanish version, just change the last part of the url for your liking):

It still says I have the newest version (V10C).
Also, if I find a version somewhere else for V10D, would it possibly brick my O3D if it isn't from the one updater I'm using? (The LG one)
Any other answers or solutions?
does work flash in 3d mode?
Hello!
Supposedly, the LG G7 One is HDR10-compliant. At least that is what I read when I bought the phone months ago... When I watch Netflix, I get "HDR" tags next to some titles and the colour gamut seems to change. I even noticed recently (with android 10) that the timeline cursor in Netflix turn pink/magenta instead of the usual red whenever I watch HDR content. Weirdly enough, I have to turn my phone a few time (to rotate the viewport) for Netflix to trigger HDR.
Well... That is only if HDR really work.
So...
Is there any way I can confirm that with some kind of debug informations?
Thanks!
Has anyone else also noticed photos come out with weird, massively boosted brightness and everything when taken with 2x zoom or higher on stock camera? Strange thing is even at 1.9x zoom everything is fine but 2x and beyond the photo is basically ruined because of this. Very annoying.
HDR and other enhancements are turned off, yet this occurs.
Doesn't happen on GCam. Any idea/solutions? Thanks
Tried here. No issue. And 2x zoom photo from stock cam was better than GCam 8.3 for me.
Didi you activate HDR and IA options in stock cam?
Yes they're all deactivated. No problem upto 1.9x zoom, but as soon as 2x zoom is engaged, there's a sudden although small change on viewfinder white balance. And final photos look extremely bright and noisy compared to 1.9x and below, as if some weird filter is put on. I've downgraded the camera but still happens.
Btw, bootloader is unlocked, not sure if that's got anything to do with it.
Its interesting if you don't have this problem. What's ur software channel and build number? Thanks
Without this bug, you'll generally get better zoomed images on stock camera because it'll use 64mp crop instead of only 16mp recognized by GCam. But this bug ruins it.
Unzoomed though, GCam's HDR+ is still the best.
Just discovered this thread.
Yes, I have the same problem. But it looks like the effect is not the same everytime. Maybe depending on light (indoors vs. outdoors)?
I noticed it happens when i zoom in in worse scenes. It could be that the automatic camera mode is overcompensating by cranking the iso way too high. Have you tried using the pro camera mode?

Yes, but I don't think pro mode uses 64mp crop like auto mode, just a crop of 16mp, which doesn't have much detail that's required during zoom. Also it's annoying trying to switch to pro mode everytime.
I mount the phone in a phone skope digiscoping adapter, then fit the adapter on the scope eyepiece. The magnified image begins to appear on the phone but then the phone switches to a different lens. The image on the phone is now a blur of color because the functional lens is aligned with the opaque part of the phone adapter.
Can the lens-switching feature be turned off so I can use only one lens in aiming and focusing the image?
Thanks
Doug
If i remember correctly, the "Expert RAW" application lets you choose the lens to work with and does not change to another lens.
Look for it in the Galaxy Store.
There might be other photo apps that also support "locking" the camera, but i'm not aware of (did not need this until now).
Pro mode in the regular camera app lets you pick lens/sensor and it sticks to it. Standard photo mode keeps switching but it sticks to the 108mp ("1x") sensor if you enable "3:4 108mp" mode.
Thank you
camera assistant app has the option to disable auto lens switching too.
I've had good luck using

The settings I had to change to get it to work was turning on auto white balance (pics were green without it turned on), then I went to the advanced->ancillary camera settings to turn on the ID2 and ID4 cameras so the buttons would show on screen. Renamed ID2 to wide lens, and ID4 to Macro lens. I don't know if I used correct terms for names, the ID2 is the 0.5 camera and the ID4 is the flower icon camera from original camera. ID1, ID,3, ID5 options seems to crash app so I couldn't figure out which one goes to the physical 4th camera on back, so no clue how to access that particular camera plus I don't know what it's for.
Video and everything else appears to work without crashing. It does crash as I play with setting to get it to work better.
Not sure how many people are using the phone still being 2 years old, and didn't see post in the apps section unless I missed it. So here's something in case someone happens to still be using the phone like I am.
