I'm a beginner at rooting and flashing and what not so after looking up and following (To my best efforts) guides on here and other sites as well, on flashing lineageOS on my phone and i may have read a step wrong and wiped my system data BEFORE i got the chance to make a twrp backup.. i've tried flashing the lineageOS rom anyways, and it must not have been the right version. I've searched probably 16 hours in the total in the past 3 days trying to find my stock firmware but cant seem to find it anywhere,
My info is:
product: htc_ocmdugl
version: 1.0
max-download-size: 1082400000
serialno: FA83K1E00528
slot-count: 0
current-slot:
imei: <Mod edit>
version-main: 2.15.709.1
boot-mode: download
version-baseband: 8998-200321-1905211056
version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
mid: 2Q4D10000
cid: HTC__621
Like i said, i cannot find my stock firmware and i'm not sure which, if any, custom firmwares would work or what version to download, i can still boot to twrp, my phone can only get to download mode, recovery mode and bootloader mode, other than that it's stuck in a bootloop,
If anyone has a firmware or knows what version of lineage i can use, please let me know, it's probably the most i've spent on a smartphone, and i just tried to make it my own and failed, at my own cost...
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!
I live in canada and paid for the phone through carrier so i'm not sure what applies to my phone, as in "United States, Europe, Asia" i see theres multiple versions but not sure where mine fits in...
@Chef_BOYRD I've removed the IMEI from your OP but feel free to re-insert it if you deem it necessary. Please be aware that it's clearly suggested not to publicly post the IMEI or to share it. It's not required for anything but your IMEI could easily misused, and I'm convinced you wouldn't enjoy that.
Regards
Your friendly neighbourhood watch.

Hi,
I am a brand new member and have come in search of some help here.
I recently purchased HTC One XL from ebay and this was from a Hong Kong seller. I was very happy receive this phone and started to play around with the device. This device is 2 weeks old now.
When I checked the software version details on this phone, I found that it is the old firmware on the device and I encountered 2 problems already:
1. Sound is very feable even if I put the volume to its maximum level. It feels as a distant sound in a quiet room.
2. Whenever I use any app and come out of it, the home screen takes a long time to load (5-7 seconds! That feels eternity!!)
Now I tried contacting the HTC Folks over in Australia as well as in Hong Kong and they asked me to Hard Reset the phone. This resolved one of the issue of the home screen taking a long to load. But the sound issue still persists.
The fella from Hong Kong then told me to check the software version on the phone, and when I checked, he/she said that I am running on a old version of the software. And I cannot update the phone.
Can anyone please help me with this?
The details about my phone software:

adsp: 25.1.0.32.0405
This matches exactly in the description in the thread here in XDA-Developers forum here
I also see that the latest version listed here matches with what the HTC Hong Kong person told me:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:26:04 [Yan Chung] :
I see. But the offical version should be Android™4.1 with HTC Sense 4+, software version:3.17.708.5. So you phone is not an offical version.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, I tried to go to the recovery screen by pressing the Volume Down key and the Power key and here is what I see:

Now my question, Is there a way that I can go to the latest OTA offered by HTC Hong Kong from the current version that I have mentioned above?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, You can install a RUU.
Noteworthy you are supetcid with soff. As already said flash a ruu.
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
Note, if you have a custom recovery installed, OTA will fail.
If the phone is rooted and S-off, why install OTA at all? There are newer and better stock-ish ROMs that you can just flash from custom recovery.
In any case, I don't think firmware will fix your sound issue. Its worth a try to install a different ROM. But it may also be a hardware problem.
Hi,
Wow what a wonderful place. Thank you all, you wonderful people out here.
@redpoint73- can you please help me with the link of where to get better ROM for my device? And the procedure to install.
PS: I have a prior experience of flashing a custom ROM from Cyanogenmod for my Motorola Cliq XT. So that should essentially be same.
Also, to mention here, when I reboot to recovery mode, I could see Clockwork Mod Recovery already present. And using the Backup option of the recovery, I have already taken a full backup of the device, just in case..
I am looking forward to a better ROM for this device. Hope someone helps with some options.
Also, there were some few terms those are new to me like S-Off, SuperCID, don't bother to explain but one help- Is my phone ready to be flashed with a custom ROM or RUU ?
Do let me know?
To all wonderful people out here.
Best Regards,
Saabir

I sure can: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
If you used Clockworkmod on your previous phone, its no different on the One XL. Just download the ROM either direct to the phone, or transfer from your PC to the phone. Then boot into recovery. Factory reset (in recovery only, not in bootloader) wipe cache, wipe Dalvik, select the ROM, and flash it. Reboot and enjoy.
But I would also look at the CWM version, and post it here. There was an older, unofficial port that caused some serious issues for some folks. But the "official" supported version is just great.
Hi, I have this phone with
4.4.2
CID vzn-001
mid OP6B20000
HBOOT: 3.16.0.0000
RATIO 0.89.20.0321
OS 1.55.605.2
OPEN DSP V38.2.2
The quiestion is, I want to get updates via OTA, and remove all apps from verizon and the warning went my phone read my sim card,so I have experience installing ROM´s, s-off and those thins with my last one x, but when intalled CY11 I saw the battely life decreased, so for my m8 I want a clean ROM, I want too the Sense, so what you suggest for me??
Thanks
Any advice?
My advice is to post in the question and answer section.
Hello all forum members. this is being also discussed in the Droid Maxx Develkoper Edition thread but I also decided to bring it to a larger audience. Now let me lay out the whole story together for you.
So it was XT1080MDEV phone running 4.2.2
- System Version 12.7.7.obake-maxx_verizon.Verizon.en.US
- Baseband MSM8960PRO_BP_2323.011.75.00R
- Build Number 12.9.0Q2.X-160-OBK_TA-14-7
It was bootloader unlocked but with a stock reovery and unrooted. I operated fastboot so I took to flash custom recovery twrp-2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4.img while in fastboot mode.
It worked out great: it flashed and also offered to install SuperSU after 1st start so I rooted and was playing with phone for a while. The phone was on Wifi without SIM and I never customized system - rather installed few apps and played Asphalt. I turned it off and on few times and even did a full backup with TWRP.
Then I left my phone on and unattended for 15 mins maybe and when I was back I discovered that it shows standard boot message "Warning Unlocked Recovery....etc" but after hanging a bit it does not show droid splashscreen and boot but turns black a shows "Warning Unlocked Recovery....etc" message again.
So primarily I got this bootloop with no possibility to even power off the phone. By holding Power and Volume Down buttons for 10 seconds and releasing them I am able to get into fastboot mode. I tried "Normal Powerup", "Factory", "Recovery" and "BP Tools" - all result in the same bootloop. "Barcodes" shows IMEI etc.
Since bootloader mode was the only option available for me I was trying out flashing different recoveries. Here's the list of what I tried with no luck:
- openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-obake.img
- philz_touch_6.19.3-xt1060.img
- twrp-2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4.img
- stock recovery (stock one taken from VZW-4.2.2-SU1-15-3-release-keys.xml.zip FW)
After all those runabouts with recoveries I caught myself thinking that it all looks like it's not a recovery which is "broken" - but rather a boot.
So I tried flashing boot.img (from VZW-4.2.2-SU1-15-3-release-keys.xml.zip FW) - no results. It is the same bootloop.
This is where I decided to flash the whole stock firmware VZW-4.2.2-SU1-15-3-release-keys.xml.zip with RSDLite 6.1.5. It flashed firmware without any errors as I removed <step var="max-download-size" operation="getvar"> from the xml file as indicated in how-to- guide, but the phone is stuck in the same bootloop.
Now behavior has changed a bit and it seems I can power it off. However I left it in bootloader mode and hooked to USB on a working PC since this is the way it's charing.
- When selecting either "Normal Powerup" or "Factory" it displays static "Warning Unlocked Recovery....etc" message.
- When selecting either "Recovery" or "BP Tools" it result in the same bootloop: "Warning Unlocked Recovery....etc" message appears and disappears in loop. "Barcodes" still hows IMEI etc.
I can see now that bootloader version has changed from 30.70 (sha-88483d6, 2013-07-02 15:32:03) to 30.B0 (sha-e8687f9, 2013-08-20 21:05:17) but phone still won't boot.
I tried flashing stock 4.2.2 two times with RSD - just to make sure everything is done fine and any occasional factor is excluded but results are the same.
Please help!
P.S. I attach a screenshot of the bootloader - this is the only operable mode I am able to access.
And yes, you might want to see what getvar all gives back. There it is
moto-fastboot getvar all

Ok guys, I presume everyone is on their place and you managed to grab yourself plenty of popcorn and soda. Just make yourself more comfortable and the continuation of this story follows just right away!
You might not like it. So the disclaimer is: "If you have an immense trust in the only omniscent and omnipotent MOTOROLA god - please don't read this further on. You will find it most offensive, humiliating and uncomfortable is such a case. Ugh, I warned you!"
First I tried to reach out to Motorola support online. I have to admit I have not spent countless hours explaining the case. I tried to be as much specific as I could and it seems this worked. But huh... Support Representative told that they are not trained to provide such as support as in my case. Sounds familiar, right? In other words: "It is so nice that you spent extra money bying our DE device. It's obviously above any appraisal that you try to contribute and take you time to try resolving the issue. Really sorry, but rest assured that Motorola just does not give a f%$k about it."
I don't have anything personal against representative who tried to help and I do appreciate his willingness to assisst me but the general corporate attitude towards the customer - I simply have no words for it. I kindly asked a support person for a small favour of pointing any Motorola technical guys devs/supports to this forum thread where I raised this question.... No one replied.
Ok now let's get back to the matter - so I experimented a bit with my UNLOCKED BL XT1080MDEV this week flashing different stock FWs just to get out of this bootloop. I flashed the following FWs with RSDLite:
(CFC) VZW-4.4.0-SU2-3.3-release-keys.xml
(CFC) VZW-4.4.0-SU2-3-15-release-keys.xml
(1FF) VZW-4.4.4-SU4.21-release-keys.xml
(CFC) VZW-4.4.4-SU5-24-release-keys.xml
All flash processes were as smooth as Moto Ads and promises but never ended with a booting Android - all the same bootloop on "Warning Unlokced Bootloader..." message when I just realized that BL version upgardes every time I flash newer FW like that: 30B2 -> 30B2 -> 30B6 -> 30B9
while FW version part ) always remain the same:

That makes me think that flash memory has weirdly gone into RO mode for some reason. So I ended up having a DE device sftbricked at this point and needless to say I am not able to downgrade as well. One word for it - MOTOROLA
As a summary I was lucky owner of functional XT1080MDEV just for 2 days before it went to the Happy Hunting Ground. I bet you wouldn't call just bootloader mode available a functional state of the smartphone
I need to admit that in my case it is a total waste of money: I bothered to buy it new in a box from the person in Russia - it is more than 800 miles (while I reside in Moldova) for 270 EUR - just to have new Motorola DE device. But it is Motorola who had me again.... :good:
Hope this story would be a good lesson for you and I wish you never waste your time and money like I did.
Sorry guys, That is it.

Hello. I have hard bricked my G4 after trying to flash it with H81021y and now it won't start, go in download mode etc... but it's detected by pc. I was trying with jumper method and QFIL to get it up but without success. I have tried with SD card method but because I was unable to find good working dump for H810 I have tried with H811 (H81120o), it goes in download mode but shows some error and reboot. So I think that I need a good H81020o dump. Can someone tell me where I can find it, or provide it to me?. Thanks.

What firmware was you running when you flashed that firmware? If you downgraded that’s an instant brick due to antirollback. Also trying an H811 firmware will do nothing but ruin the phone and or make things worse at best. You sure you have an H810?

Are you 100% sure it’s a H810? You buy it new directly from AT&T? If you bought it used or refurbished there’s a chance it’s not an H810. You’ll need to look on the motherboard.
As flashing a newer firmware is not going out the device in its current state unless there’s something else going on.

Exactly... i too have the same problem... and been working on this since 25+ days... no success as of now... the motherboard says H810 where as i too had H81020o (which is actually a cross varient of H81120o)... tried QFIL, no luck... used memory card method with the the H81120o single image [(https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68488903&postcount=5)... click on "download" at the bottom... the Q.zip contains single image.bin] & have managed to get phone booting for few seconds in download mode then in fastboot mode with an error saying "Secured boot", "error 1009"... so neither we can use this to get the download mode, nor we can flash any tot/kdz... any help from top senior members will be helpful... Thanks

i got same device with same firmware from aliexpress ,bricked same as by flashing 81020y
voila bricked
those who got g4 H810 with H81020o firmware don't do anything like root upgrade/Downgrade. it will sure brick .
at-most can be used as a paperweight. All money is wasted.
i am sure the board is H810 where this H81020o firmware came from, may be loading with emmc like that
i am planning to buy 818 board & connect with bricked devices ,i hope it will work

I’d return the device as you where not sent what you where ordering. Only real fix is a motherboard replacement.

friends i also have the h81020o and seeing what you said
you're right I was investigating and it could be said that it is a mixture of the h81120o from the T-Mobile company since the h81020o does not exist
so our cellulae is an h811 since I have an update that says it's a T-Mobile
but what I wanted to get is maybe you can recover your phone with a Windows program which you can edit the kdz or the tot files to be able to flash from lg up and not error.
I will leave a link with which you can support
since that video shows how an h815 version is edited to be able to be flashed from lg up
I hope and it works and luck

Hi... Thanks for the useful info brother... i have seen H81120o.kdz in win hex & it contains LGUP_8994.dll.... where as the the kdz/tot for H810 has 8992.dll.... so probably my H810 (as per motherboard) was crossed flashed with 811 firmware which has made me in this situation of dead boot with "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008"... with the single dump Image 811 i can get my phone in bootloop with no fastboot & downloading mode... Can we get help from senior members now to get rid out of this issue... Thank You
same error
I have the same phone with the Android Version:
H81120i
6.0
MDF v2.0 Release 1
Phone is LG G4 H810 shipped with AT & T since update its T-Mobile and not working right

An update can’t just change the model number unless it was an H811 all along.
