Xperia XZ Flashing The Wrong Rom Version - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Hi
I have an xperia XZ f8332 and a few days ago I decided I wanted a new look for my phone, so at first I downgrade to MM so that I can be able to get a backup from drm keys but unfortunately I couldn't
Then I Unlocked Bootloader without backup and I tried to flash eXisten-z rom but there I did something wrong and flashed the f8331 version where my problems started, then when I tried to flash the F8332 stock rom the Flashtool errored, "The bundle does not match the connected device" because the device name changed to f8331
I flashed the f8331 stock rom and flashed the eXisten-z rom oreo so that I could use the phone, but now my storage is 32G and my screen mirroring doesn't work, please help, I need to fix these
Thanks

Actually I did.
But flashtool says "the bundle does not match the connected device"

Get a pen drive... And make sure TWRP detects ur pendrive... Copy your current rom and the rom that ur trying to flash... Wipe system and internal storage (you will lose all of ur data pic, videos) and insert ur pendrive to your phone... And try to flash the rom.. If it failed... Flash the current rom

[Q] I need to relock bootloader and unroot to flash the stock rom?

1- Do I need to unroot the phone(xperia L) and relock the bootloader to flash the stock rom?
2-Does flashing the stock rom removes CWM(I want to remove it)?
Thank's in advance!
you can return to stock firmware using FLASH TOOL for xperia ( google it )
With this you can lock the bootloader but before that flash the stock rom @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642
and yes flashing stock rom with FLASH TOOL will also remove CWM
hit thanks if that helped because today i also returned to stock rom

Firstly, updates via pc companion or SUS requires lock bootloader..if you have TA backup just restored it and it will be updated officially.
Second...Flashing new firmware will erased everything and your bootloader still will be unlocked if throu flashtool..
Third...when using flashtool, there are a few choices you can make like saving your data and etc but its recommended to wipe everything..
your data etc can be backup using 3rd party app..
The easiest way to root is using extended stock kernel v6 kernel..It has built in root and its binaries..
Thank you very much. I didn't save TA when I unlocked the bootloader so I assume that I can't get it locked. So in this case I will do the update trough flashtool. After flashing the update I will just restore root. Have a nice day

Just flash ftf and you're back as stock
just flash the ftf of your version, root it, then restore your TA backup, then unroot. STOCKED NOW!

You can flash the firmware provided that it's actually the same as the name says. Just perform a clean flash, root your device, restore TA backup and again flash. Your device will come back to the default state.
Hit thanks if it worked

can i flash a d6633 ftf on d6603? temporarily

I had a D6633 device and i just exchanged it with DD6603... i want to flash a prerroted MM rom, the problem is the friend i exchanged it with let it automatically update to MM, so i have to downgraded root and recovery then flash MM prerooted
my question is, it takes sometime to download 1.6 Giga's , and i already had an LP ftf for D6633, obviously network wont work, but is it possible temporarily , flash D6633 root it and recovery, then from recovery flash a D6603 Prerooted rom.
is that possible and wont effect the device?
OK this can be deleted now, download finished , although i might try it as theory sometime...

Hi,
My dad recentely upgrade his XZ, but it didn't work and the phone is in bootloop. So I try ti use Xperia Companion to repair it but pass 10% there is a error message and it can't go further...
So my question is can i make a factory reset using a Stock firmware with Flashtool without loosing the TA partition ? (the phone is full stock so the bootloader is lock and my dad want to keep is waranty) (I try some researches but i didnt found any answers about flashing a stock rom with flashtool, all i found is how to flash a custom rom)
Thx,
Valentin
Flashing a FTF will do nothing to the TA partition. You are safe to proceed

need help restoring docomo xperia z5 so-01h

hello, im wrongly flash file(kernel?), and now my phone shows as e6653 at flashtool..
phone condition:
1.can boot to twrp,flash,adb mode
2.wont load custom rom(stuck at rom logo)
had tried :
1. companion, missingphoneinfo error
2. flash stock so-01h, this bundle not for your phone, also error with e6653 firmware
3. extract kernel from so-01h firmware, but flash error
dtb not found

Get Flashtool 0.9.22.2
Download So-01H FTF available on experifirm
Flash the FTF
TWRP and root will be gone but you will have a working phone wit stock MM
I tried this and worked. Nothing else worked for me. No custom roms or Nougat ftf from anywhere.
If you found any way to install custom roms please let me know too.
Thanks
