how do you convert from T-Mobile ROM to international - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I just unlocked the bootloader is there a way I can convert to the international ROM? And Root thanks in advance

I downloaded the 9.5.4 fastboot zip extracted it then put the phone on fastboot mode. Install the twrp.img Format all data then go back into fastboot mode. Then in the extracted zip find the flash all-partitions and click it, let it do it's thing. Once that's done it may reboot and get hung up on the boot screen. Just go back to fastboot mode and flash "flash-system-boot-vender". Once it's done It may reboot again and get stuck on the boot screen. Go back into fastboot mode then flash the twrp.img and get into twrp, there you should be able to flash the twrp.zip if not you may have to adb sideload it. After that it should boot up into the international ROM. If you can't get WiFi to show up youll have to flash the sky dragon kernal.
you can find the fastboot zips here https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=294300
*You do this at your own risk*
Don't blame me if you screw something up. If I screwed it up I would've simply took it back to tmo for a new one

Do factory reset/wipe data and wipe cache. Flash rom. Reboot into bootloader. Fastboot flash boot boot.img. reboot phone. Then reboot back into recovery to flash gapps. Should work "

If you haven't, extract the boot.img file from the .zip and place it where you have adb/fastboot (Android SDK). Then boot into bootloader, go into Fastboot, plug phone in for "Fastboot USB" then type the following in command prompt and reboot.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

ive tried all that boot.img from zip even another one with the download no luck just stuck on boot with that cm9 rom on loop thanks for your help though guys any other suggestions other then just shooting myself in the head??lol
Try flashing Paranoid/AOKP and then flashing back to CM9.
flash older cm9 rom?
this is my first attempt of any ROM for this phone starting with cm9 alpha 13 does anyone recomend maybe installing a older alpha?? maybe alpha 10 cm9?? idk
Try flashing the latest alpha 14. Maybe you got a bad download of alpha 13.
did you solve your problem?
if not & you're not quite shure about flashing the boot.img properly with fastboot I set up a Tutorial yesterday:
[Tutorial] How to flash a new boot.img via Fastboot
perhaps this might help you if the above one didn't fix your problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
I had the same problem. But this worked for me.
wipe all -> flash cm9 14 -> wipe all -> flash gapps -> wipe all -> fastboot flash boot boot.img ( i used the touchfix one ).
then i got in.. but took some time first load. But now i cant get wifi to work and cant see simcontacts. Drives me nuts.
Just reflashed all with no luck.

Fastboot wrong command entered and now phone won't boot into anything but fastboot/stock recovery!

Hi , I just screwed up when I was trying to flash TWRP recovery on my OnePlus 7 Pro. I accidentally wrote "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" instead of "fastboot boot twrp.img" and now my phone wont boot into anything but the bootloader. How can I fix this issue? Thanks heaps!
Edit: Ok, it looks like I need the boot.img from stock firmware. Could someone provide that for me? My download speed is super slow (like less than 100 KB/s) so downloading the stock firmware is gonna take me 7 hours D: (Yay for living in the middle of nowhere!!)
fastboot boot twrp.img shouldn't have messed anything up. That should just have booted the recovery without installing it, and this is the command you should use.
If you want help getting the boot image you should probably post what build and version you are using, since there are quite a few to pick from.

Well my phone won't boot now, so it did something wrong haha :'( When I go fastboot boot twrp.img, the phone hangs on it's splash screen of the 1+ logo, with powered by android at the bottom.
As for build, I think it was the latest version out 11.0.0.2.GM21AA, thank you!
Also, typing fastboot flash boot twrp.img then trying to reboot to recovery just takes me back to the stock bootloader, so I don't know what's going on there :\
Also, fastboot gives this as it's outupt about why it can't flash twrp to the phone, using fastboot flash recovery twrp.img:
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: '(recovery_b) No such partition')

I feel your pain on download speed. Took me two tries, finally had to zip it I will try to upload boot.img for op7p 11.0.2.1, OnePlus7ProOxygen_21.P.38_OTA_0380_all_2107172338_49e62 build which I believe is the latest. Use at your own risk. It would be good to know for sure what build you're on.

📌 [Shared] TWRP by skkk
âš¡âš¡A12/A13âš¡âš¡ ----------------------- BOOT VERSION Installation: Phone in fastboot mode Cmd: fastboot boot twrp.img or Power shell ./fastboot boot twrp.img then in Twrp go to Advanced -> flash current TWRP...
forum.xda-developers.com
Command to install:
1. boot your device in Fastboot mode
2. fastboot boot recovery_finename.img
This will temporary boot your device to TWRP
3. From TWRP go to Advanced and choose "Flash curent TWRP" - this will permanently install TWRP but will overwrite magisk scripts, so root will be lost.
4. Flash magisk from TWRP - this will fix root.
Thanks bro.
will this lost data or need to clear any caches after done installation TWRP?

What does "boot" or "REC" mean? I always thought twrp is just a one file?
REC it's for direct flash the recovery with "fastboot flash recovery.img" (doesn't work for me)
BOOT it's for boot to the recovery "fastboot boot recovery.img" to flash permently go to advanced and "flash current twrp" (work great)

Hello. I have the latest TWRP installed on my Xiaomi 12. A friend of mine installed it. I would like to learn it, but the command "fasboot boot twrp.img" doesn't work for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the phone still won't boot into TWRP. I'm using ADB minimal and I renamed the downloaded file to twrp.img and put it in ADB minimal, then I used the command mentioned above, but still nothing happens, the phone won't enter TWRP. Once it enters TWRP, I use the command: "flash current twrp", I already know the next procedure. I welcome help. Thanks

Check with"fastboot devices"CMD or "./fastboot devices"Powershell before
the phone must be in fastboot mode.
CMD=fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
Powershell=./fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
Then use the twrp
go to Advanced > Flash Current TWRP
The Twrp .img must be in the same folder as the command.
Possibly post the screenshot of the result of the command

Already said in the post above.
1/You wrote "fasboot" instead of fastboot.
2/Download SDK platform-tool extract the folder and put the twrp in it.
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
3/ use the command from the folder where the twrp is.

the command is: fastboot flash recovery_ab xxx.img
A question: why the twrp version jumped from from 3.x directly to 5.x?

How To Guide Xiaomi 12S Ultra TWRP(unofficial)

12S Ultra unofficial TWRP - link MEGA
Credit - UnofficialTWRP
They released TWRP under 12S Pro, but the code name is Thor which stands for 12S Ultra, and after flashing, I do confirm this is for 12S Ultra.
now they have a proper 12S Ultra section!
Download the image and rename as recovery.img for simplicity.
fastboot boot recovery.img (or full file name)
in TWRP, go to "Advanced" and "flash this twrp."
edit: the recovery image file is too large to be flashed directly via fastboot, so you need to boot first then flash using twrp!
edit2: backup and restore function may not be working properly on this version of twrp! I get boot loops everytime I do a full system backup and full restore after bricking the device, especially on the data partition. Clean installing rom then restoring data only still get boot loops. so use it with caution.
I suggest you to use 3rd party backup apps to do backups on apps and data, and stick to the flashing and other functions only for twrp.

No I'm pretty sure it's:

However my question was why the method outlined by @Nabicook vs this method. Is it because of the dual partition?

Because not only it is the method unofficialtwrp suggested, but also the size of the recovery img file is too large to be flashed via fastboot.
I already tried
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery_a recovery.img
and so on, but all failed.
only way to properly install this version of twrp is to boot first then let twrp to install itself to both a/b partitions.

Still having issues:
After flashing twrp + magisk, reboot sends me into fastboot mode ..
As I get it, previously I've messed up with boot image, flashing recovery into that partition
So question is:
Do I need to reflash stock boot.img (need help with getting it, stock recovery rom is packed into .bin and I'm unable to extract boot image
Or can I simply reflash stock ROM (in recovery or fastboot mode?)
*my phone is unlocked already

yeah you can try flashing stock boot img, and if that doesnt work, you can download fastboot rom and flash stock rom using flash all without wiping data(there is .bat file that says something like install without formatting).
That will fix any kind of brick issues of xiaomi device, and you just redo the twrp part.

When you rooted did you do fastboot flash or fastboot boot and then direct install in Magisk app?
I did the following:

Then you can't restore your original boot image from Magisk. You should only ever do fastboot boot and then use direct install in Magisk. Unfortunately the latest full rom available for your device is LE2115_11_F.17, so I think your only chance is that someone share a stock F18 boot image so that you can flash it and then update.

Here is the stock unrooted F.18 boot.img. Make sure to extract it first.
So I was able to remove root by first following the same commands I used to root in the first place with the boot image you provided. However, I cannot update to F20 using the system update. It keeps failing
Ok, this time, you have to flash this unrooted boot.img that I provided. NOT just boot it like you do when trying to root. The system will check the flashed boot.img then proceed with OTA.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot, then try OTA update.
When you have the latest F.20 successfully booted, if you want root, you can get that boot.img through MSM readback feature. Or, I have F.20 boot.img too, and you can ask for that.

The MSM Tool for Global thread is here, but the download link in first post is incomplete. You can download the full tool from here. Make sure to download the correct package. The global one also works for LE2110 (the Chinese model).

Why do you always "fastboot boot......" and then "fastboot flash boot...."?
Generally, fastboot boot.... will make you phone boot up the given image temporarily (whether it's a boot image or a bootable recovery image). Whereas, fastboot flash boot.... will permanently flash the given image. Normally, you only have to go with one of these methods depending on your task/goal.
Anyway, since you have flashed the stock unrooted boot.img and OTA is still failing, I suggest you just back up your personal data (photos, stuff) to PC or whatever, and then go with the MSM tool method. It will wipe all your data on phone, and revert your phone to OOS11 with locked bootloader. From there, you can take OTA updates all the way upto OOS13 F.20. This seems to be the simpler way to get out of your current predicament.
How to use MSM tool:
1. Download the package according to your device/variant, and extract it.
2. Power off your phone and keep it aside. DO NOT connect your phone to PC for now.
3. Run the MSM tool exe. It will take a couple of minutes to load.
4. Click on Target drop-down menu and choose O2 if you are on Global.
5. Click Start. It will go to Waiting for Device mode.
6. Now on your phone (which should already be powered off), press & hold both the vol+ and vol- buttons (NOT the power button) and connect the data cable from PC to your phone. Your phone's screen will still stay black and it will enter EDL mode.
7. The MSM tool will start flashing as soon as the connection is successful.
Note: You need to have OnePlus device drivers on PC.
I appreciate the support. Can you also provide me with the F20 boot image by any chance.
Sure. Stock unrooted F.20 boot.img attached. Make sure to unzip it.
By the way, if you have MSM tool, you can get your current boot.img from its readback feature. Super simple. Launch MSM tool. Press F8. Select the desired boot image (boot_a or boot_b). Enter the password as: oneplus. Click read. Power off phone, and get it into EDL mode by pressing holding vol- vol+ buttons then connecting data cable from PC. The desired boot.img will be dumped in C: drive.
Also, F.21 has just been released, so you better update to that. I haven't yet as I am currently on crDroid.
Anyway, F.20 boot has been attached.
Hello sir Can I get F.21 boot
vendor boot
dtbo
there're no FULL package out there for Global variant
Just only incremental update
How can I get that Full Image?
Or Should I extract it from India Variant Full Image F.21
will It work normally?
