could possibly be beautiful widgets
edit - it was fancy widgets
i would love to know where you got your wallpaper
Would love a solution. The standard *##info##** pulls up the admin (or whatever) menu but I access band selection it says access restricted. The menue where you can select WCDMA only or GSM/CDMA auto etc is accessible, but the change doesn't stick. I selected GSM only and then backed out but nothing happened. Killed radio and turn on again. Still on 3G. I tried the *#*#197328640#*#* as well with no luck.
If anyone can figure out how, by any means, lock the phone to GSM or enable manual band selection it would be much appreciated.

I found out that if you go into the dialer and type in *#*#197328640#*#* that it will take you into a menu that will allow you to change it. From the main menu of the ServiceMode screen, select DEBUG SCREEN, then PHONE CONTROL at the bottom, then UE STATE CONTROL. From there select CHANGE RAT TO WCDMA to enable 3G only, and select CHANGE RAT TO GSM for 2G only.

This works, Just have to re do every time you reboot
I would also love to find a better solution to the switching- since I am now locked to a non-unlimited data plan!

[Q] Cannot switch to 3G.

Hello everyone,
Previously I had the ROM "iXperia 8". There i could switch between 2G, 2G/3G & 3G easily just with a click. After I installed "PrimeHD", i do not have the 3G mode. I can switch between only 2G and 2G/3G modes.
Please help.

Seems problem at "install PrimeHD".
Uninstall it or recover to previous status.
I believe you had backup before you install PrimeHD......
try dialing *#*#4636#*#* in the caller app (normal one) and it should bring up a testing menu.from there go into phone information and scroll to bottom. there should be a network mode drop-down list. pick something like "WCDMA only"

Thanks it worked. But do you know what are the other options for?
I have another solution to the problem myself.
Go to Home-->Press menu button-->Add-->Widgets-->Power Control-->Check the button "2G/3G"(You may uncheck all other buttons,up to you)-->
Scroll down till you see "Choose Network Modes"-->Click the button right below it--> Click on "2G/3G Only/3G+2G"-->Move to top and click OK.
A new widget will now appear on the home. Here you can switch your network modes between 2G or 3G or 2G/3G.
Which options? The SMC check (i think) and others? That is beyond the scope of my knowledge

you dont need to enter the code. go to main settings, more, mobile settings, preferred network type, then choose

G920R7 GSM Unlock..... Feel like I'm close....

I'm on PD1 6.0.1 with a G920R7 nTelos. I rooted using CF-Auto root, flashed TWRP for the g920p, and installed the zip file from this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394689
After that I installed Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and used it to access the hidden menus. Went to the 2263 menu and set all band preferences to all and selected the LTE/GSM mode only, then went to the 4636 menu and set the radio to GSM/LTE (prl) auto. I've tried GSM only and it switches back to GSM/LTE (prl) auto on its own.
I now have access to a mess of options in the network mode selection screen in settings, and setting it to GSM only and 3g only still does not allow me to catch signal. In network operators it shows AT&T, yet if you try to manually select the network it never goes through. *#0011# still shows it switching through LTE bands and not staying on one or registering on the network. In the device info screen (4636 menu) it shows the correct phone number and AT&T for current network, but under cellinfo still shows it switching between LTE bands and under GSM disconnects it shows ======DATA======.
At this point I'm not quite sure what to try next. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas to try. Thank you.
EDIT: I've also tried the G920P domestic unlock and G920R4 unlock with a box, but no luck with either as expected.
i can do remotely if u want

I have a box but the device isn't supported, it's not locked I must just be missing something. Anyway you could private message me what I'm missing? I've been through all the settings messing with it and all, even flashed the CDMA to GSM zip floating around here. I know I'm missing something silly. Any help would be appreciated and I don't mind sending you a donation provided I can do this myself next time.

I just messaged him on Hangouts. I don't know if its something he can help with or not because I believe we have the same box and the g900r7 isn't supported. This isn't even answered on that Voldemort website.
Did you figure this one out? I'm also interested in GSM unlocking this phone.
Messing around with it I was able to get an ATT Sim card to pull 3g data but no call/text or lte.

Question Pixel 7 att preferred network type question. Help much appreciated

Under *#*#4636#*#* my preferred network type on my pixel 7 pro from att is nr/lte/wcdma. Does that seem right . I've changed it to be/gsm/wcdma and it literally defaults back to the nr/lte/wcdma.. help appreciated
And what happens when you insert another carrier's SIM card or remove the SIM card?
Well why would I put a different sim in a carrier locked phone first of all
Secondly what would removing the sim do?
NR/LTE/WCDMA (aka 5G/LTE/3G) is fine. If you don't want 5G, change the "Preferred network type" from the SIM settings, or choose LTE/WCDMA (aka LTE/3G)
Thanks everything that I tried in the dialer defaulted back to nr/lte/wCDMA no matter what I selected . Is that a glitch or something? Nothing I selected "stuck" lol.

What are you trying to achieve? Are you trying to set LTE as the preferred network type instead of 5G? If so, do it from the SIM settings. That will switch it correctly.
Not trying to achieve anything . Went in there to check some other settings and thought it looked "off" is all

IF your SIM settings has 5G as the preferred network type, it will default to NR/LTE/WCDMA. This is the correct value for 5G/LTE/3G. If you select 4G as your preferred network type in the SMI settings, the value will change to LTE/WCDMA which corresponds to LTE/3G.. The SIM settings will likely override anything you select in the *#*#4636#*#* settings
Ok thanks ...

I was under the impression from reading posts in the 6 forums that AT&T was blocking the ability to change the preferred network type in settings so OP may not even be able to do that.
