Hi, I've bought a LG Quantum (C900) from AT&T a few weeks ago, and since I bought it, it keeps rebooting.
When I say rebooting, I mean that it simply restarts, like if I had turned it off and then on again...
It happens a lot, and only when I use non-native apps, like "Ask Ziggy" or "Birthdays".
My phone is not unlocked, but it is SIM-unlocked and I'm using it with a non-AT&T SIM card (I'm from Brazil). I already tried to restore the phone to the default settings via "About" menu on "Settings". The WP7 version is: 7.10.7720.68
Any thoughts about this problem? I didn't find any topic presenting a problem like mine.
Nobody had a problem like this?
It's almost certainly a hardware problem, although you could check and see if there's a stock ROM you can re-flash just in case it has a bad ROM for some reason. My guess is a problem with the storage chip, though.
Can it, by any chance, be happening with apps that are not Mango supported?
I sideload a lot of apps, and an annoying kwirk that I've found is that unknown sources does not stay enabled permanently. Everytime I attempt to install an app from unknown sources, I have to hop into settings and recheck unknown sources.
Yes, I do uncheck "this install only"
me too. I've turned it back on about a dozen times. This last time seems to be holding, for a day so far.
yeah, it's been driving me nuts, I kept having to do this with all my Amazon underground apps. I did notice in the settings though in my case, it showed checked, but once amazon tried to install an app, it would magically uncheck.
did the software update this morning and it did not fix this for me still.
A good example why root and tasker is needed; this has been my experiance with touch wiz on S7 as well, simple setti gs dont stick ore reset sometimes. With root andbtasker though you can wright tasks that will auto re-apply seetings when touch wiz drops the ball.
This is different, my unknown source settings stuck on my S7E and Note 7 I had.
Root isn't needed for this. If it only happened after a reset it'd be no big deal. It happens literally every time you try and install and app. Even if its 2 mins apart no reboot.
Have same issue. Never had this issue before with S7 Edge and was not rooted. The permission just doesn't stay like it should.
Man, I thought I was going nuts lol. Same issue, but at least it didn't break the feature.
I thought this was just me.

Can confirm I'm having the same problem. I'll see if talking to Samsung will get them to patch it soon hopefully.

You misunderstand my post, often despite samsung best efforts, touch wiz is buggy, this is a bug!
Options;
1) You live with it
2) wait for samsung to fix, which in my experiance doesnt happen often
3) fix it yourself (but root and tasker required)
Same issue here, kind of a ridiculous bug
Same issue. At first, I thought Verizon struck again. I never know ifnitnis a bug or Verizon intentionally screwing with the OS.

Well I've got AT&T, and it's like this. Not tooooooo bad but still and annoyance, and definitely not intentional because there is a option to uncheck "for this install only". It should get fixed.
lol, i thought i was going crazy.
Same problem here thought it was weird.
I'm having the same issue. At least I know now that I'm not the only one
Mine does. I went into settings and turned it on. I installed 3 apps and it's still on.

Hi everyone , I dont know if someone else has experienced this but sometimes..at least once in a day something happens to my s8+.
Fingerprint doesnt respond for notification gestures ..even for unlocking the phone ..I should put my pin or use the Iris.
It doesnt vibrate or says clean the fingerprint area or anything else..it just doesnt do nothing , until my reboot.Everytime I reboot it works. But I dont want that on such an expensive phone. If anyone else has experienced it , what do you think?
Thanks.
I've also experienced this on mine. Caused me to go pick up an lg g6 when they went in sale lol. I still have and use my s8+ but it's annoying. After rebooting my phone it's fine and has only happened twice. But I do switch between s8+ and my g6 from day to day. I was hoping it's a T-Mobile update issue and will be fixed next update.
Hoping anyway,

I just switched from ATT Note 9 to TMobile OnePlus 8 on Saturday. I have had one plus devices in the past which is why I decided to switch. I have been having issues with my text not always sending out, getting duplicates of messages sent to me and issues downloading mms. I went to TMobile and they guy had no clue and offered no solutions. I'm on the latest software. I turned off duel channel network acceleration which seemed to help the mas problem. I am on wifi 90% of the time and when I am not I'm on 5g/4g.
I did check other forums and I have seen mention of the mms issue but not fixes. I have never had an issue with a one plus devices so this sucks. It seems like as they start selling through more carrier the quality is going down.
Any advice would be helpful!
Oh and one extra question I am trying to figure out if I want to download nova lol. I usually download it on every device lol. What is everyone running?

Ok I will try that! Thank you!!!
I've had the same exact issues as you, even using Google messenger with RCS support on/off. I found an older thread for the TMobile OnePlus 7t Pro McLaren where people where having the same exact texting issue. They said to create a new APN using IPV4 only and all other setting the same as the one in use, which I did. I still seemed to have issues after that (not as much) so someone else mentioned they swapped SIM cards and the issue went away. I ended up activating the sim card that came in the box instead of the one I switched over from my old phone and I don't seem to have the text message issues any more.
Hopefully one of those 2 things will help you out too.

I always use Nova Prime. I just can't live without the extra custom gestures and features it gives.
Also I use Google messages with chat on my OP 8 without issues.

Is it only me or something common? (P7P)
I haven't had any, and my wife hasn't said anything about this happening with hers, either. We've had ours for two weeks today. I'm rooted, hers is with the bootloader still locked.
Have not had a random restart since I got the phone.
Alright, possibly one of the root modules is causing some problems. thanks for the info.
Rooted, no restarts.
I have been experiencing them regularly... Usually right after i try and make a call ...
This is the first time i ever saw something like this.... Does not inspire confidence!

Factory reset and use the phone with little to nothing installed and see if it still happens. If it does try a sim from another provider. If you still get them you have a faulty handset so RMA it.
I haven't experienced it with the Pixel 7 Pro but it happened sometimes with the 6 Pro.
Got one restarts just after freeze for 30 second twice. Rooted kirasakura kernel and despair both happen once
Hasn't happened once in the two weeks I've had it.
Well this is absolutely rediculous.. HORRIBLE support... Google Support wanted me to run the phone in SAFE MODE for a "a few days" to make sure it wasn'ty a third poarty app causing the reboots.. and if it still happens i will have to run around trying to find a service center to "look at the phone" eff that... Take itr back and i will go back to OnePlus or Samsung..... HORRIBLE first experience with a Pixel ... ABHORRENT
I still have one Day on my 14 day return window so i am returning the sucker and getting my money back.. I am not paying 1500$ CAD for a phone that randomly reboots when i try to initiate a call...
I had 1 random reboot during a VOIP call. Didn't notice it till my headphones told me they were disconnected, lol.
This was full stock, unlocked and rooted the day after.

How is that horrible support? 90% of the time it is user error. As a few post above mentioned. Wipe phone and try it with minimal apps installed. They want you to run it in Safe Mode for a reason, if still happens send it in or find a service center. I wouldn't call that horrible support.

Bare in mind this is probably thye first phone i have owned since my nokia days back in the early 2000's that is -NOT- rooted , bootloader unlocked or anything of the sort !(Yet)
I have my P7P now since the 13th of October and I had no random reboot during this time. Everything is running smooth and stable. My phone is not rooted.
I've only noticed phone crashes when using Android auto. When I try using apps that change the font and display size, that's when I run into reboots. My phone is rooted with multiple magisk modules

Just a data point: I haven't had any phone crashes when using Android Auto on the Pixel 7 Pro.
More specifically, whenever I change the screen to large screen on an app like Paramount Plus, or some other video viewing app. This is when I get the phone reset
