Aight, so I have a Q6, and was wondering if there is any way at all to get Pie on it. Cheers!
LG won't be updating the Q6 to Android 9. It sucks I know.

Hello,
This idea just stroke me while waiting for the Nougat update...
I, and certainly most of us here, are not interested in Android 7.0 more than we're interested in the new EMUI (I can't wait to change that ugly notification panel).
So the idea here is to port EMUI 5 to Marshmallow to take advantage of the nice UI along with the compatibility of Android 6.0 with root, Xposed and so on...
What do you guys think of the idea? And do you think it is feasible?
Peace!
You can get it now and its rather very simple. "Just for your information, it's easier to upgrade to nougat using this method through the Huawei Firmware Finder Android app. I did it without going through all the trouble of rooting.

Lol I don't think you understand what op was suggesting.
I think you are confused.... EMUI 5 is another name for Nougat for huawei honor phones(correct me if i'm wrong) same for EMUI 4 for Marshmallow. I think you are looking for theming your EMUI 4 to look like EMUI5 via xposed or whatever else is available

I get you, however it all depends on how coupled is EMUI to Android version. If like you said, they're tightly coupled, then there is no way to port the EMUI 5 to MM.
The final goal is indeed getting rid of the ugly EMUI4.1.
Thanks for stopping by :good:

Well considering EMUI is simply a skin built upon Android 7.0, I'd imagine 6.0 doesn't have some of the functions that EMUI 5.0 would call to. Thus, it would be an extreme effort to port the EMUI 5.0 skin to Marshmallow. Without source it's impossible. It really isn't even worth the amount of time it would take to reverse engineer and try to implement the functionality of Android 7.0 onto 6.0. I'd imagine the end result would be exactly like 7.0 but extremely buggy and missing functionality.
My htc u11 is still running Android 8.0, my software number is 2.33.163.9 ( from sfr France), someone has an idea about the date of deployment of android pie 9.0 ?
Wow no update yet? If you havent got it by now probably you will never get it. Dont worry you are not missing much. I downgraded to oreo cause pie its not worth it. Half ass update.
Yeah. Too many bugs so is better not to update.
if i get to know i don't update
I have a honor kiw-l21 phone it has build kiw-l21c432b350 on emui 4.0 android 6.0.1. the thing is i need to update the version of android, since my banking app no longer supports android versions lower than 7. i have searched your site for a version of android that is 7 or grater. is there an official version to meet my requirement. I noticed that there is is a develeper version called lineageOS 17.1 is that my only solution or is there an official one i can use.
Updates get automatically rolled out by OEM/carrier if they consider it necessary.
What you mean is to upgrade your existing Android. This is never done by OEM/carrier.
IMO to upgrade to Android version 7 or higher you have to flash a corresponding Custom ROM like LineageOS.
But I may err, as always ...

You need to use test point method that needs opening your phone's back cover and that is kinda a pain for noobs. Need some research on your phone.

Cheers, I was hoping that Honor/huawei might have brought a newer version of EMUI out, I did update it when EMUI 4 came out, that update was from android 5 to 6.
Hello everyone,
I have a Moto G7+ as my main phone, and the last OS version it received was Android 10.
I know that it's possible to install customs ROMs or some things like that (sorry, I don't know to much about that area).
So I was wondering if I can install the most recent Android version in this device even it's not supported. If so, can it causes me some performance problems, like a slower phone?
Thanks in advance for any help

Look into Lineage OS. I have a Moto G4 with Lineage installed and it gets fresh OTA updates each week if I want them. It's quite old, I know, but it still receives current security updates. Lineage OS is a pretty vanilla Android ROM, and if there's a Lineage ROM for your phone,it should work without issue.
Hi, so i'm considering to update my s10e from android 10 to 12, however i'm seeing a lot of you guys wanting to downgrade from 12 to 11 or even 10.. my phone is not rooted and i'm not planning on rooting it so locked bootloader is not a problem for me, my question is what makes you want to downgrade? is there any stability issues or any issues on android 12? i know getting my phone updated to android 12 were close to irreversible so i need to know the reasons not to update.. i already downgrade from android 11 to 10 because i dont like the icon scaling on oneui 3. thanks for any input and help you guys have
