I remember those days when people used to laugh if someone had a OnePlus device. Most of them considered it to be just another Chinese crap. And today, owning a OnePlus device means you are using one of the best devices in the world. How time changes people's mindset.
Let us know what is your story/memory with your OnePlus device.
(Since the forum was opened in advance and we don't have anything to do for now, let's have some fun.)
Well.. I was always a Samsung/Apple user before OnePlus and I had almost every Galaxy Note, I used to upgrade every year. When Samsung messed up with Note8 I decided to try another brand and I was kinda scared at first but now I'm in love with my OnePlus phone. It has TONS of amazing roms unlike Samsung devices (especially ones with Exynos) and bootloader is easy to unlock, battery life is great, charging is.. unbelievable and OOS is the fastest rom ever. I love OOS gestures too. It's a device that You can easily keep for years.
Now when all these OP7 Pro leaks come out it makes me want to upgrade lol. The only things that are keeping me away from upgrading are:
1. No money.
2. If I'll sell OP6 I won't be able to keep my OP6 roms up to date and I can't do that to people.. so I don't know..
But we will see. Maybe I'll somehow get the money and get that OP7 Pro beast
I have no memory of the Oneplus?, but the 7Pro has my attention...
I am the one who first bricked OnePlus One in the world
Then again the first who unbricked it.
heres hoping the oneplus 7 can hold its own against the pixel 3 camera... once oneplus can match or beat pixel cameras, good bye google.
I remember the Oneplus One was a flagship device at a very reasonable price, and I thought "Wow these people are really doing things differently". I also fell in love with the design, the openness, well the overall personality of the company.
Now the price has become the same as similar devices, the design is boring, they use proprietary drivers and even the packaging is... meh. I got the 6T and for my next one I'll look at other brands. They've become another Samsung, which is great for them but not what I came for.
I'm using an OP 5T. I like the performance and the OS experience, definetly will go with OP 7 pro.

yes but the oneplus 7 looks promising
the Oppo Reno has a 48MP primary shooter - the Oneplus 7 will take after the Reno - with a 10x optical zoom.
the sensor is a sony IMX587

Sure, we are at +550€ and after 5 years, mono speaker, no IP, no QI, USB 2.0, Galaxy S6 camera, 30W, no 3.5mm, no IR... but this year, with +700€ we will get QHD haha

QHD, 48MP, 3D Front facing camera, UFS 3.1, USB 4.1, inbuilt FP, and some leaks suggests Stereo Speakers, wireless charging is a gimmick IMO. and its 44W charge on the 7 pro
My friend told me about the OnePlus One when it came out but with the invitation scheme and it being "another Chinese manufacturer", I didn't think much about their chances and didn't bother buying one.
Then I started reading a LOT of glowing recommendations and reviews, unfortunately I already had another phone (Nexus 4 at the time) so didn't bother with it.
When it came time to buy a new phone, the OnePlus 2 was out so I bought that, then the 3T, then the OP5 and next it'll be the OP7Pro
Yes l love my oneplus 5 for it's notification led and the headphone jack?

OP7T, as today
I went from HTC One, to oneplus one, oneplus 3, and now oneplus 7
Not sure where I will go from here, Prices have spiraled up and out of control. Back 6 years ago, my needs dictated using aftermarket roms, but these days the stock roms got me covered for what I need to do, and to be honest, I grew tired of constantly messing with flashing etc...
Watch the video here:
I was lucky enough to attend the OnePlus 7 series launch and got to try out The OnePlus 7 and answer the question who is it for? Well lets take a look at the specs first starting with the screen, a 6.41 inch Optic Amoled sounds fantastic especially at a starting point of only £499 but it pales in comparison to the 90hz QHD behemoth of the 7 Pro, plus there’s a tear drop notch which slightly obscures the viewing experience. Very similar to the OnePlus 6T in fact, however it does have a newer snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 256gb of built in storage and 8gb of RAM meaning the Oneplus 7 is no slouch and will perform like a beast especially with Oxygen OS.
Another major change from the OnePlus 6T is finally finally dual speakers, an omission that OnePlus fans have been craving for a very long time and now OnePlus has made good but in all honesty do these changes really justify upgrading from your OnePlus 6T and I would have to say no. Hear me out for a minute, yes the OnePlus 7 is using LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.0 2-Lane storage, the same 3700mah battery, a very similar screen with an in display fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras one being a 48mp Sony IMX 586 with an aperture of f1.7 and the secondary camera is a 5mp autofocus f 2.4 sensor, as opposed to the 6T’s 16 and 20mp cameras. But at least the 48mp front camera is an improvement over the 16mp front shooter of the 6T.
The build is first rate and feels premium with the glass back and aluminium frame sandwiched between the screen and back panel, the dimensions and weight are almost identical to the 6T, It will come in the mirror Gray which you can see in this video but also a red version specifically aimed at the Chinese and Indian market which gives a substantial hint at who the OnePlus 7 is aimed towards.
To be honest the OnePlus 7 feels super smooth and lightening fast, but then every device from OnePlus does, running android 9 out the box adds to the experience and should help gain some extra battery savings.
So the question is who is the OnePlus 7 aimed at? Ok well if you live in North America clearly not you as it is not being released there, It is however being released in the UK sometime in June. Which is an interesting choice not to launch it alongside the pro variant but my guess would be this decision is to start pushing the pro which lets be honest can no longer be called a flagship killer as it is a flagship. If you have a 6T then this is not really a viable upgrade for you as I feel the OnePlus 7 is really a OnePlus 6TS, If you are coming from an older OnePlus device or are on a tight budget then I conclude this is probably aimed at you. Great device overall but not ground breaking, what do you think?
OP appears to be pricing this around $400-$450 in China sui it really makes me wonder what their strategy. Also makes it more irritating that they're forcing the 6T on us here and charging us more for olderb tech.
Leaves a real sour taste in the mouth for OP.
I'm looking forward to some real reviews of OP7. Coming from OP3T I find the device interesting, but there is a lot of competition at this price point and a lot of more expensive phones have become cheaper since their launch.
I find the 7 Pro too big, I hate the curved screen and the price is too high, but that's debatable.
My shortlist so far are Zenfone 6, Samsung S10e and Xiaomi Mi 9.
Even Huawei p30 pro has come down in price from 1000 euros to 650 euros, making it only 100 euro more expensive than OP7.
The 7 is the same upgrade as usual. The 7 Pro is another phone made for a different customer.
As always the 6 month upgrade is not worth it. For 6T owners the 7T will be their next worthwhile upgrade.

Design wise the Oneplus 7 is same as the 6T. But it has a powerful chip and better fingerprint performance.

And stereo speakers.
I import the OP7 to the US and I love it. To me, it's a vast improvement over the 6T, even the screen seems slightly better, and I'm not sure if that was really touched on. Love the stereo speakers, fast FP reader, speed and even the camera over the 6T. Transferring multiple and large files to the computer is also much quicker.

No issues. Super easy, just download the official update for OOS and flash from the official updater in Hydrogen OS using the local upgrade option. The zip just has to be in the root directory. After flashing, and rebooting, I did a full wipe to clear any residuals, and began to use like normal. The easiest update to official international software ever.

Totally agree with you. I've been really happy with the 7. It's fast and I just love the stereo sound over the 6t. Most 6t cases can be made to fit too. Just had to do a little trimming around the alert slider with some or around the camera LED on others with a xacto razor. I used the official 6T tempered glass on mine too because I could order here from OnePlus directly. That was a direct fit needing no modifications.

Good to hear, I've got some cases and tgsp leftover from the 6t. I've been excited about stereo speakers (without the mod) and ufs 3.0 storage speeds. Can you comment on any difference in speed vs earlier OP phones? Funny question cuz they've always been the fastest and smoothest phones in the biz, I know!
Have you rooted with booting twrp or fully installing twrp?

I didn't bother rooting because I liked the official software just fine because it didn't have any bloat. I just flashed the software from the official OP page in the Hydrogen updater. I did hear that some resellers are installing international for people though, mine had hydrogen os. https://support.oneplus.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4360
The phone is certainly faster, but it's not going to floor you over a 6t. It is much smoother than a 6 and a 5t which I still own. The UFS 3.0 however was much faster when transferring files to and from the device, I noticed that immediately. On the current update, I'm really happy with the camera too. They fixed a lot of the low light issued and sharpness issues in regular lighting. I think the screen is slightly better than the 6t. I know it wasn't advertised really, and I can't quite put my finger on it, but it looks and feels a little better. It's not night and day difference or anything, just a little better IMO. Maybee you'll recognize the same thing since you will have used both phones.

I had trouble with the fps on the 6t but I live in a dry high altitude environment in Colorado so dry rough fingers. Reports say the 7 is much improved. Thoughts?

The fingerprint scanner really is more accurate. The only time I still have trouble is if my hands are slightly wet. I got the regular US type plug charger with mine. Mine was brand new and sealed from Oppomart. Mine is GM1900. 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Yes I've noticed the wet or recently wet hand thing on the fps of the 6t, like if I washed them and my thumb skin is hydrated for a short time before drying it throws the sensor.
I also have the GM1900 on order (eBay US seller never_msrp $539 8/256) and hope to receive a US style plug. Reportedly the Chinese version vs Indian or EU version which would include the different plug type.

My friend has 6T hence I just compared it. FP Radius is much improved. (Approx. 6T - 0.5cm and 7 is 0.7cm),
Also Sensor is damn faster. I bet it's equivalent to my previous OP5 front hardware scanner. 6T is much slow
I'm happy to see a lot of OP7 GM1900 users here. This is my first Oneplus phone and i really enjoy using. Bought mine from a seller in Macau for MOP3550($441) 8+256. No complaints so far about performance
Same here! GM1900 as well - got it for ~$482 though mine was already flashed to Oxygen. Noticed the OP7 forums much quieter than usual, I guess most of the attention is on the more expensive and flashier OP7pro which is warranted, but to me this phone is like "crouching tiger, hidden dragon" !
Hopefully more dev's jump on the bandwagon and start showing it some much needed love.
All I need now is Magisk + root + adblock!
Got mine for the same cost. Yes strangely quiet in here. Some confusion I think pre release before people knew there would be a Pro model. We definitely need more activity on this forum as this is clearly the superior phone
Hi, I decided to change my phone (LG G5) this year, because finally here are the notch-less phones.
I'm really interested by the oneplus 7 pro, the asus zenfone 6 doesn't seem better, but the Xiaomi Redmi k20 is coming soon.
With the same features, but seems smaller (I think that the oneplus is really too big for the one hand use)
But, mostly it's about the OS, miui or oxygen os ?
miui seems close to apple (no thank you) and oxygen close to android stock.
Do you think I should wait the redmi k20 announce ? (28 may) or it doesn't worth to wait ?
Thanks.

I haven't done full research into the k20 but if the question is between OxygenOS Vs MIUI and generally between how Xiaomi operates Vs OnePlus then I would say OnePlus every day of the week.
I have been personally interested in the Xiaomi Mi phones for a few years but I always see a lack of ROM development, the extended period of time it takes to get your bootloader unlocked, the adverts built into MIUI and the heavy customisation as really big negatives of Xiaomi.
The performance of the OnePlus 7 Pro is fantastic. If you use the GPU Profiling developer setting, even on 90hz 1440p, the phone hardly goes over the green line (or doesn't drop frames) on the stock kernel. Once we get custom kernels up and running from the likes of RenderBroken and Arter97, this thing will absolutely fly!
In terms of size I have smaller hands and I agree that you can't use this phone one handed all of the time. There are things you can do like swipe down for notifications that do help but it's still a two handed phone for some uses. Having said that, that's the way this industry is going so for mez I would need a phone with 5-5.5inch display with all screen display to be truely one handed (HTC 10 was the last phone I could use completely one handed and manage to reach everywhere on the phone without it being awkward).
My view is go for the 7 Pro and you won't regret it.

Yeah it seems nice, but I don't really care anymore as I already bought the OP7pro.
The redmi is still not announced in France, I think the redmi k20 is a little better on the hardware, but not the software.
And yes cheaper.
I'm happy with the OP7pro, except a little too much heavy but I don't regret, but it's nice for redmi, the market need flagships killer.

OEM skin is a main factor that you have to decide.
Oxygen OS is not perfect either. Killing app on background aggressively is something that oneplus doesn't want to fix. Echo voice on Snapchat Facebook messenger etc. Battery life is not great either.

I just disagree about this point, the battery is awesome.
I charged it yesterday morning 100%, I used it a lot as a new phone a lot of config, but also videos à 100% brightness (screen at 90hz)
I only charge it during the car (watching video 100% too and low charging in car), not charging during the night, this morning I am at 61%.
And another good point, screen at 100%, videos, games, install apps etc.. and no heat.
This is the first time I don't need to charge a phone during my sleep.
Interested to see how well the K20 pro works with Oxygen OS flashed on it. Cheaper phone with OOS, that'll do nicely.
K20, it has a headphone jack, I won't feed tard companies that wants to force you to buy new headphones that are inferior to the ones with cable at this point.
I went for the 9t pro.. Flat screen, headphone jack and £300 cheaper for similar spec - 8gb/256gb model... A no brainer imo... No adware I can see and I use nova launcher anyway re GUI. Awesome. Would've liked regular software updates but for the price .....
I own the K20 pro before the OnePlus 7 pro,the display under sunlight it's like cheap oled screen the colour is bad, fingerprint doesn't recognize all the time if your finger is dirt or wet, the miui have a lot of bugs, the front camera capture the coverbord if you use the full body cover and is little annoying

Yes, it will probably be based off the phone with in screen front camera
Rumors, but looks like OnePlus keeps moving progressively forward. ?
This is good news. But looking more forward to the
8 pro though.
I think they'll give wireless charging & ip rating,Better Camera in the next release
Wish they could have made a version of the 7 Pro with a FLAT display.
I think they will give us 7t pro.
4 phones in 6 months??

The 7T, 7T Pro, 7T Pro 5G rumors are getting stronger. A possibility of a Spetember end announcement looks tasty.
In comparison to OP7 Pro,
less curvy edges, less slippery back, way better front cam and better rear cams, official IP rating(by paying less to Robert. D. Junior  ) etc. are in my wishlist.

They said time after time no wireless charging.
7T to have 2k res, 90Hz RR, 6.55 inch screen, SD 855+, 3800 mAh battery as per this reliable tweet.
Interestingly it says 7T and not 7T Pro. This looks weird and exciting at the same time because personally I did not like the 7 Pro's size, weight, steep curves and the pop-up cam which will not be the case with the 7T while retaining all the good stuff if it turns out to be true.
This way users will have the choice of two different sizes with little compromises.(if at all).
If 7t will get 90 hz,7 Pro's value will decline drastically
7T & 7T Pro full specs:
(launchdate likely to be Oct. 10)
SOURCE
Edit:
OnePlus confirmed that the launchdate is September 26.(7T atleast)
This is amazing news because I think most of the new camera improvements maybe software and can be ported over to the 7 pro hopefully.
So nothing to write home about. Very minor upgrades. an 855 runs everything already with room to spare.

Once the successor gets released, the predecessor's value decreases. This has always been like this.
Only difference is - first time it was of two sizes from OnePlus, hence now two respective successors.
Also, 7T would be a great choice who didn't like the 7 Pro's form factor, weight etc.

It's not about offering a new revolutionary product. It's about staying on headlines and maintain their popularity. They can't go a whole year with a drought of releases just cause 7 PRO owners wont be tempted to buy, we are not the target, but if you needed a new phone, it would be smarter to wait 1 month.
I really wanted the 8 Pro when it came out but did NOT want to spend $900+ for a phone.
The only thing i really didnt like on the 8 pro is the slopped display but im gonna be running a case regardless so i dont think that will be that much of a problem with a case.
Then the 8T came out and i like everything about it except that it has a 1080p+ display instead of a 2k.
Now the 8 Pro is only $50 more then the T so which would you get?
FYI im comming from a pixel 2xl (and no i dont want the 4a or 5 they suck)

Then the 8T came out and i like everything about it except that it has a 1080p+ display instead of a 2k.
Now the 8 Pro is only $50 more then the T so which would you get?
FYI im comming from a pixel 2xl (and no i dont want the 4a or 5 they suck)

Most would probably go with 8 pro because of how premium it looks+high res screen+wireless charge+early roms and don't care for 65w charge. 8t users are probably people who hate curved edge screens that's my main reason and the 65w charge is fun to use since this is the first time it's been brought out in the US and the fastest ever so far. People are scared of battery damage but it doesn't really get as hot as I thought just a bit warm and looks similar to 33w warp charge temps on the 8 pro when I checked some tests on YouTube. Plus I don't use wireless charge and I'm not sure how noticeable the resolution difference is because I've been using 1080p forever and don't mind it. 120 hz from 60 hz is very noticeable though but that's on both of these phones anyway
For only 50 bucks more and if you don't plan to pay monthly for either, the 8 pro is looking like a pretty good deal though
I would go with the 8 Pro as well. It's got a larger, higher resolution display, wireless charging, and because it's updates are a lot more solid currently.

Go with 8t or wait for op9. It is rumoured to be launched in April.
Coming from someone who has had both, they are both very nice. I think they are pretty much on par with each other, I liked the pro but there really isnt anything im missing by getting an 8t. The photochrome was removed. I may be biased, i had the in2020 in America so i could not get 5g.

Mostly people are going to use the main camera and ultrawide only. And with gcam, they both work great.
I ordered the 8 pro 12 GB ram 256 gb
I never owned a pro myself but recently I read about it having some screen problems that the 8t doesn't. Is that true?
go with pro
I also was in this decision and after trying 3 8 pros in the shop all of them had display issues so I went with 12/256 8T and it's amazing

Exactly!
Same. Curved glass is a big no from me. I was excited when they said it was a flat screen.

Compared to literally anything else other then Pixel (or apple) they are leaps better
I would of loved to go pixel. But the pixel 5 literally checks 0 boxes for me
I hate curved screens so that's why I went with 8t upgrading from 7pro
The downgrade on display really isn't even noticable
