I have the T-Mobile variant. I performed a factory reset last night to try to fix the ambient display issue. But now I don't have the weather widget. Does anyone know where I can get it?

Hello, I have an issue with screen - it is very dark and it is even twice as darker as it used to be, and its just unusable
I don't really know why it is so - it can't be a physical damage, because I've been using this device for 3 months and never dropped it. BTW such issue was 3-4 or for times before and was cured by rebooting - now it doesn't help and even charging phone doesn't solve this problem.
I've been using the ROM - Cognition (some of the latest) and will try to flash back to stock, maybe it will solve my problem
Have you guys had such issue?
Have you tried changing you brightness settings?
after unlocking the screen slide your finger over status bar at top or where it should be if u could see it and see if that works.
lol, I know how to change brightness of the screen) but that's was awful, very dark screen and seemed like broken. after charging to 100% now it is fine, but I afraid I will have the same issue in the future

Did you try disabling the "power save" option to see if that was causing it?

not a USA citizen....
I even have no idea, why it happened, maybe because of that so much cold weather in Russia?
is this only happening when the battery charge is less than 10%? If so, that's by design.

today I was told that it's the screen problem and the only thing I can do is to replace it with the other screen, but unfortunetly, european Samsung Galaxy S screen is a bit different and the only place where I can replace it is the United States...

Hi Guys,
I've been using the windmil wallpaper from the galaxy SII for some time now on my Sensation.
But since yesterday I noticed a bug, one that wasn't there before.
As you can see in the image below (edited image)
When my wallpaper shifts to night, it gets a horizontal line just above the grass of about 1px thick.
The horizontal line is only in the wallpaper at night, i've tried other wallpapers and they all work fine.
I have tried reinstalling it and used other websites to download the windmill.apk from different sources, but no luck.
Any thoughts?
Just reinstal it? I used the wallpaper to and i had the same problem. I just removed it and installed it again. Problem solved

I did reinstall it, as I said in my original post.
From which source did you get the wallpaper?
Anyone else?
Gonna bump once more.
Might be the same problem as for specific widgets. It's happening for some widgets for some reason and only for some people. Did you try changing to another WP and than back?

Hi, thanks for the reply!
I have tried changing it and back again.
Without luck. The strange thing is, it only happens when it's in night mode.
I noticed it happening to the google widget, it's a similar line.
But i can force this one, when i put it to night mode.
I tried a whole lot, but I wondered if it was a specific bug and anyone else encountered it.
Tried to open the flashfire app to install a mod and it just open then closes immediately. Doesn't force closes but doesn't do anything else. Anyone else have this problem? Thinking of redoing everything.

Yes I literally just got this today after trying to fix the Call Standby battery issue, it's ridiculous. This battery life bug is monstrous and the fact this app doesn't open to fix it is driving me crazy. Honestly been so frustrated today over these 2 things haha. If you or anyone has a fix for this, do please reply to my post in this thread so I'll be notified.
Reset the date on the phone.
from what i've gathered from the material theme the beta has expired and in order to use it you have to change the date on your phone to a past date for it to work
ty guys for this. i thought we was screwed. kinda sucks i gotta change date but glad its still working. once again ty for ur quick answers
There's been an update to address the issue.

The update broke the ability to flash zips now. He is aware of the issue, it has something to do with a MD5 check he added to the update and 64 bit systems.
What exact fix are you trying to flash?
The so called fix itself isn't a flash. I'm assuming he wanted to do a fresh install.
Nothing has fixed the drain for me.

Have a completely stock T-mobile Note Edge and recently been noticing that when I flip through my home screens (2) that the font is real small then pops to regular size (the font under the app icons) also the calendar widget goes back to regular size (that's only a tad smaller than normal)
I tried getting a screenshot of this happening but flipping through home screens and holding down the power and home button fast enough is a wee bit tricky.
Anyone else getting this issue? Seems to happen like 8 times out of 10. Running 5.0.1
Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk
Yes. Same here with stock, unrooted 5.0.1. My girlfriend also has this problem on her Note Edge and she's with Sprint.
Been searching for any reference to the issue online, you are the first person I've heard mention it.
I don't know how to fix this but I wish I did. I've factory reset, wiped update cache, uninstalled apps. I'm out of ideas short of getting a replacement. [emoji29]

I'm thinking it's a software bug.
Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk
Not sure what significance this has, but I noticed that if I go to developer options, scroll to GPU rendering profile and enable 'show onscreen as bars', for me this issue is longer reproducible.
Could you test this out on your device to see if you get the same results? It could be helpful.
If this is a software issue, I wonder if using Odin to write a fresh copy of 5.0.1 to the device would fix it. Have you tried this?
Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk
Still happens
Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk
Huh. That's interesting. I'm kinda hoping it is software related. I still haven't figured a way to permanently fix it.
Did you try odin'ing fresh stock firmware back onto the device? I haven't tried that yet. Or what else have you tried?

Oh ok. Well this is not a huge issue, but if I figure out a permanent fix I'll let you know.
I wish someone else more knowledgeable would help with this...

I have a T-mobile Note Edge and I am having same exact issue. i think the problem is with TouchWiz. I downloaded Nova launcher and it works fine now..I would be glad to get rid to Nova launcher and go to to Touchwhiz if the problem is solved.
I'm on 5.1.8 and I'm having issues with Spotify. When using Spotify it would disappear from the status bar after some time. But Spotify would still be running but I'll not have control over it outside the app.
Anyone else?
Yep, I still have problems with it..

I've done that. Issue remains the same. I'm giving them one more month to solve this
I also have this problem. Not sure yet what could cause it.

Maybe not since I don't have this issue.
For every 1 having problems. Do you have Advanced optimization turned on? From settings/Battery/Battery optimization/3 dot menu/Advanced Optimization

No, it's turned off. Spotify is consistently killed every 30min or so for me and sometimes the notification doesn't show. No idea what's causing it.
