I am looking for a way to control my phone inside the Zeiss VR One goggle with my gear S3 watch. The gear vr app does not work for me because it seems to be restricted to the occolus app when that is connected to a occulus goggle.
All I would need is some way to simulate a display tap on any part of the phone display with a tap on the watch (or a watch button). But I couldn't find any app so far.

Of course we want 4g connectivity so you don't need a phone to make calls from it.
I would like to have the Gear mirror the volume settings on the phone. If the phone is on mute, the gear should be set to vibrate but would also like the ability to set gear to vibrate even if the phone has sound on.
i like the phone to gear volume sync idea. seems like they could make that happen now with firmware update.
think more along the lines of hardware... like the being able to use the watch as a phone only (even temporarily would be cool, like having a cloned sim card in the watch)
adding an LED for a flashlight, regardless of camera.
louder speaker
wireless inductive charging
slightly larger screen (less bezel)
i kind of want a headphone jack, but at the same time dont... no need for extra spaces for water intrusion
a min of an 8mp camera if theyre going to install one. 2mp is nearly useless.
Does anyone know if I can pair the gear circle and moto 360 simultaneously? I want to use the watch to screen my calls and text and the circle to answer calls and listen to music? Has anybody done this successfully or know if it will work?

yes you can
android wear is an abstract (upper layer) app to add all your wear devices (assuming circle is wear based device not tizen like gear2 or full android like gear1) and via the app when you select any of your watches the related app is fired up (moto connect or gear manager or whatever) which lets you interract with that brand's watch..
2 questions btw.
is gear circle out yet?
if so will you wear both the gears at the same time?
cheers
Am I missing something or is the Media controller app not available for the Gear S2? I have spent hours trying to find/install the thing, but with no success.
If the Gear S2 is missing the media controller app? Why? Its such a useful app. Without it I am thinking of returning the device. This is how I control I would control what music is playing from my phone from my watch, its a hassle to have to pull out my phone only to skip to the next track or pause.
Is there any way to enable it?
On this watch it's the Music Player. If you tap on the 3 dots to the right, you'll get a menu and the top item will allow you to select either the phone or the watch as the source for music. The watch will be able to control the phone if Bluetooth is on.

You can also add a widget with remote control buttons.
Finally after a week I got my gear s2 connected with my Samsung Level U. How do I play music on my gear s2 without my phone? Music is copied.
I dont have a BT headset, but in my own quest to answer this same question I came up with the following.
1. Open the music app.
*2. Tap once on the bottom of the screen (Below the play button, you should see a track title and phone icon).
3. Now in the music app on the right side you should see 3 vertical dots. Tap that to access the menu.
4. You should see a black screen that says "Play music from: Phone"
Tap on the text and you'll switch to "Play music from: Gear"
5. Tap play to start a track and if BT headset is not connected you will be prompted to connect to a headset.
* Depending on where you access the music app from, step 2 may not be required. Ive gotten as far as step 5. Dont have a BT headset.
Hi
I use my Pebble Steel along with Music Boss daily to control media on my phone. Spotify, Retune to control itunes on my mac, playing and pausing apps like Netflix on my Chromecast. Can the Gear S2 compete with this kind of functionality?
Thanks.
Anyone? This is not the type of thing I want to find out after I buy the watch.
I would also like to know this. I however, have already purchased the watch and will receive it Monday or Tuesday. I will test it out then and let you know.
I would like to know, when the screen turns off while listening to music, and I wake the watch to change the volume or pause the music, is the music controller still there or will the watch face be the first screen I see. I don't want to have to find the music controller again just to pause the music.

I do know for a fact (because I tried it) that Music Boss is on Android Wear and works very well. I didn't like the like the battery life of my Moto 360 2nd gen, so I took it back.

The watchface comes up. In my personal opinion, this is how it should be -- it is, after all first and foremost a watch.
However, the UI makes it really simple to get to the music player "widget' with a single swipe to the left (or one click turning the bezel). So it comes down to the inconvenience of a finger-swipe after turning your wrist to look at the watch. For me, it's an utterly trivial extra step.
As for controls, pretty much standard bluetooth AVCRP control profile.
I went ahead and bought it today. Everything I have tried so far has worked flawlessly with the exceptions of Netflix.

I think you'll be happy, with the exception of the two biggest complaints: S-Voice, and app availability.
However, I have a lot of confidence Samsung is going to improve S-Voice with updates. The app situation, we'll just have to see. I can say that there are some cool apps showing up that are truly making the watch more useful to me -- the recent HUE lighting control app being one -- so I'm getting more optimistic. However...
WHOAH! What Netflix?!?!?!?? DO TELL!!
