Excellent Idea creating this. I dirty flashed the latest update and double tapping the status bar doesn't lock the screen. Anyone else have this?

weather doesn't show in the status bar, didn't check the widget. the apps appearing in recent apps panel is very large. camera opening 1st time after boot takes about 12 sec, switching to front & back camera also takes about 6 sec. when viewing a picture in the gallery, if the screen turns off then after turning on the device freezes the gallery app. other than these, everything is fantastic in this rom. btw how can i take screenshot in this rom?
OK cheers, volume down + power button.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Glad to see that but if I didn't misremember discussions should be posted in General thread?
Thank you for creating this thread. Both roms are equally lightning fast. However Christers does have much less battery drain.
Also remember to set your battery setting to efficiency as I see much improvement in battery life while keeping device fast enough. 5 hours+ SOT is very doable.
Some tiny problems I faced: circle battery icon doesn't work, putting custom sounds in notifications folder doesn't show them up in sound settings when selecting a notification sound and finally the file manager doesn't seem to allow you to access SD card. Downloading a third party file manager works fine though.
If you notice, the Partial Screenshot feature has been implemented in the 20161115 built,
- To access Full Screenshot >> power button + vol down, OR open power menu and press Screenshot.
- To access Partial Screenshot >> open power menu and long press Screenshot, wait for the screen to dim, and do your selection window.
You need to add weather provider as cm did not have their own since marshmallow. This one works https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cyanogenmod.yahooweatherprovider
Works fine on clock widget but not showing in status bar.

I think we still need to comply with xda rules. After all we're using xda resources here. And we can discuss about CM14.1 in general, not on specific dev's work. That way I think this discussion thread will be safe.

You can always ask the Mods if you want something that is not allowed .
But allowing this would allow the same for every rom ever built .

It looks like the most "drain" is in mobile Internet, with W lan nothing and Flight mode too.
But its not really a battery drain

Introduction
LaunchAnyApp is a mod to create the option to choose which app launches when you draw one of the screen off gestures.
I made this because I never used the gestures and thought it was more useful if it launched another app. Don't think you can't use the normal action anymore, you can choose the default action.
Features:
* Choose the app or shortcut you want to launch
* Choose to enable haptic feedback per gesture
* Easy to understand
* Every gesture can launch something you want

Thanks a lot for a _very_ useful app!
It seems LineageOS is migrating to a hardware based gesture-mechanism, see gerrit change #159987. Search term "status:merged 159987" (I can't post links)
Any plans for supporting this?

Thanks for the heads up
I saw the change and probably going to remake the mod somewhere in the future
tbh I personally don't use the offscreen gestures but if enough people are interested in this concept I will invest some time in it

[Update]: Turns out this is a new feature in MIUI 10 8.10.18 global beta.
To enable go to settings->notifications->show incoming notifications
Please ignore the below.
-------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first post, please don't mind any amateur mistakes.
I was going through the settings and found that turning off MIUI optimisation in developer settings will enable notification icons getting displayed in clock region.
I have tested this in MIUI 10 8.10.18 beta version. It'll be good if few people can test this in stable version and post the results.
Procedure
1) Enable developer options by clicking MIUI version 7 times.
2) go to Additional settings->Developer options.
3) Scroll to the end and disable MIUI optimisation.
Optional
1) Disable notify about high risk features. This will turn off annoying notifications stating to enable MIUI Optimisation.
2) Set the display size to small for better looks.
Below are the screenshots of the settings and the notification icons getting displayed.
Please feel free to comment your opinions.
Cons:
Need to provide app permissions again for few apps.
Some of the UI won't look good (limited to app info and settings app) trade-off
Reserved
Already did it , but still show clock instead of notifications icons?
and also unable to remove high risk feature notification.

It'll display when you unlock the phone for few seconds.
Did you enable developer options? Strange i was able to disable it.
Which version of MIUI are you at?

I have not done any modifications. Maybe something is wrong.
I'm on 8.10.18 and notifications are displayed normally inside clock region. I didn't fiddle around with any settings, just updated and set up my own region (Croatia), everything is working as it should finally.

Yep, that's now my top priority! I hopefully should have it done in a week or two, as I'm an inexperienced programmer.
hmm perhaps that was a bit of an ambitious timeframe, but it will hopefully be done before OnePlus releases the real AOD supposedly in August or September

Hello everyone,
Once again, I'm presenting to you an all-new Always On Display app for all android devices running Android 6.0 and up. This app is the remake of my old App which was only for Samsung. Now it works on any android device. If you don't know what actually Always On Display is, It is a feature that shows important information such as Time, Date, Battery, Notifications, etc on your screen when it is not being used. This feature works best with devices that have an AMOLED screen, as the pixel goes off so the power consumption is very less.
This app has many improvements from its older version such as more battery efficiency, better performance, new features, and many more.
Key features are:
Android 6.0+ Supported
Screen oritentation option
Paged clock with new watchfaces
Edge clock with music controls
Rearrangable Widgets (Music controls, Weather, Next Alarm, Today's schedule)
Multiple Display modes such as wave to show and Lift to show etc
Screen timeout to save battery
Whole new color palette with custom color support and gradient support
Many new Wallpapers
New Font option added.
Battery optimization tweaks
Multistyle colored notifications with unread count.
Enhanced Burn-in protection, Movement of clock and home key both
Memo text
and much more

Spoiler: Upcoming Features

Have you set a lockscreen in settings?
It can be a bug. I'm not sure. But first confirm you have already set a lockscreen and instant lock with power button is on.
A beta update with a fingerprint option is available on the play store. Install it and let me know whether it is working properly or not.

Dear dev, this is the best AOD app i've tried (and i have tried maaaaany app).. I'll test for battery drain (Samsung a20e), but for now, well done!
A whole new look with new clock faces is coming soon...
Great APP, can you add more timeout options ? the best will be custom timeout
I've been trying out a few different aod apps, but for whatever reason this one won't work at all. I'm using One Plus nord n10 5g phone, I disabled battery optimization, have everything set up, but when I turn off the screen there is nothing . All black. Any thoughts? Thanks.
