I installed and used WhatsApp for the first time last night to contact a friend who I suspect may be upset with me. I am trying to decide if they blocked and then unblocked me in WhatsApp. Here is what happened:
1. I started a chat with them (I could see their profile, but they had no profile picture and no status).
2. A few minutes after sending the message, their profile picture appeared and their status changed.
3. About 15 minutes later they responded to my message.
4. Immediately after their response I sent three additional messages.
5. After a few minutes I noticed that my three additional messages were not delivered (only one check mark).
6. After another minute or two, their profile picture was again gone, I could not see their status, and I could not add them to a group chat (I got the message "couldn't add xyz" when creating the group).
7. After about another 30 minutes, I got a response in WhatsApp and I could again see their profile picture, but it had changed to a different picture.
8. The three messages I sent after their response were never delivered.
My question is, can I say 100% that they blocked me after the first message and then unblocked me before they sent their second? If not, what could have happened? I don't want to ask this person if they blocked me and potentially make them more upset with me if they didn't block me.

I use my device for work. I coordinate/schedule jobs in which there are many people who can work certain slots. So, I'll send out one text message to about 75-84 individuals. Then the ones who can work reply. Later, I send out another mass SMS advising of remaining slots to be filled.
My issue is this. In the Android code a section checks for the number of text messages send within the last hour. If you exceed 100 messages - then, Android throws an error for every message afterwards within that hour and the user has to select "OK" to send an SMS. So, at times I have to sit there and select "OK" over and over again for several minutes while the over limit SMS's are sent....
I found an old record on how to fix this issue here.
However, this APPEARS to be an old solution. I was unable to find this setting or the table "gservices" in "/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Does anyone know where this was moved or how to change this setting?
My device is a an LTE Galaxy Nexus.
I'm running AOKP-build 33. But, I would think this setting would be generic to all of the current ICS ROMs.
Thanks for any advice.
BTW - I found some very old posts related to this same issue. Note:
1) Using an app will not address this issue (I use Chomp SMS) as this is coded within Android.
2) Google Voice will not work as it doesn't recognize "groups" for the "to" box.
3) Pulling the battery will just prevent all the texts from going out.
I'm just hoping someone knows where the file/code is located that I need to modify.
All other suggestions will not resolve this issue.
I have a Google contact that is constantly being marked as spam. If I take the time to unspam, they will be marked as spam at least 10-20 times per day. This is the contact that I talk/text with the most. I text with GV. I have changed the person's name, made a new entry for them, got them a GV even to see if that would help. Any ideas?
HTC One Mini text problems - confused.com

I received a text from someone in my contacts but it had two senders.in the "from" field. I replied to the sender who had asked the question and immediately got a phone call from the other "sender" saying he'd received a strange text from me. The INCOMING text had two senders - weird. There were no links between the two senders other than they are both in my contacts.

I forwarded text to one person today and it sent it to 7 recipients. The one I sent it to received it and replied and I've not heard from the others so I assume they didn't get it, however it clearly shows 7 recipients.
On both item one and item two an error screen appeared, saying something like "could not be completed"
The only thing different recently is that I updated the OS a few days ago.
Any ideas?
I've been having a recurring problem with SMS which I think might be related to the ongoing Lollipop memory leak problems. I have tried trimming back old messages but it's still happening at least a few times a week.
Basically at some point I get a text message and when I go into my SMS client - currently EvolveSMS but the same thing happens in all clients - the conversation list is either blank or only contains 1-3 entries. Any attempt to access text messages in any app fails and it just shows no conversations. When I do a logcat search for SMS I find this message:
The connection pool for database '/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db' has been unable to grant a connection to thread 100 (Binder_A) with flags 0x1 for 180.01302 seconds.
And it keeps showing up again and again with the number of seconds incrementing. The thread number and binder letters change as well as perhaps multiple different processes are trying to access the texts.
If I reboot it continues happening but eventually goes away on its own and I can see my whole conversation list again. Sometimes if I swipe away every recent app and wait a few minutes it goes away too.
I once had this problem in KitKat after restoring a large number of messages to a newly purchased Nexus 5. However it only occurred once - after I allowed the error to resolve itself over some extended period of time, the problem went away and never came back. On Lollipop I am experiencing this with quite some regularity and it's very disruptive because I'll receive a text and then find myself locked out of being able to respond to it for 10 or more minutes.
Any thoughts, ideas etc?
Somehow my wife's phone number is stuck in a group with my sister's phone number, and I cannot get them separated.
Got a new Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus about 2 weeks ago, and restored all my existing data to it (including several years worth of text messages) from my old Galaxy S7.
All was great for about a week, I was sending & receiving text messages from numerous people - including my wife and sister - just fine.
Then, I THINK what happened was that on a text to either my sister or my wife, I added the other one of them to the message as an additional recipient, and I think that's when this issue started.
Now, whenever I receive a text from my wife, the message appears in my phone with my sister's number included in the sender field along with my wife's name as if it is a group message.
What's even MORE strange, when another person sends a text to me and to my wife (but NOT to my sister) - my sister's name appears in my phone as if she is in a group that sent me the message - even though the person who sent me the message doesn't even KNOW my sister!
Here is a step by step scenario:
1) My wife composes a text message on her phone TO ME ONLY (my number is the ONLY one shown on her phone as the intended recipient of the text).
2) She sends it to me, when I receive it on MY phone, the "sender" area at top of message shows TWO people - my wife and my sister. (My sister does NOT receive the message.)
3) If I reply directly to that message, both my wife and my sister get my reply.
4) If I compose a NEW message to my wife only (rather than replying to one she sent me), and send to her, only she receives it (my sister does not receive it), and on my wife's phone it shows as coming from only me.
5) When my wife replies to the message I sent to her only, on my phone it comes back as a group message with my sister
s name included in the group.
I have scoured my phone for text messaging Groups... I can find none set up. I primarily use Handcent NEXT SMS, but have also used the stock Messaging app in the Samsung phone, as well as Verizon Message+... same behavior in all of them!!
On my phone I deleted the entire thread of messages between me & my wife (over 1,200 messages going back couple of years), and also deleted all threads on my phone between me & my sister, deleted both my wife's and my sister's contact records in my phone, and also deleted all the forementioned from my WIFE'S phone, then also deleted my wife and my sister's contact records from the contacts in my Google account (to prevent them from being inadvertently restored to my phone that way), and restarted my phone NUMEROUS times during all this... then we start a new text thread between me & my wife only, and when it hits my phone it STILL shows as coming from a Group containing my wife and my sister.
THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!
I hope to be able to remedy this without doing a factory reset on my new S9+ as it's a RPITA to reload everything (all my data primarily), AND I'm not really convinced that will solve the problem anyway (wondering if the "group" they are stuck in together is in Verizon's mothership (cloud database, etc).
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!!!
