Ok So first this is not a custom rom but you will need to root using king root
step 1 Root your device DO NOT RESTART
step 2 Install google play Do not close this until instructed
Step 3 install lean launcher
step 4 start it
Step 5 go to superuser app and go to app manager
Step 6 go to system and delete fire home and bloat ware
Step 7 go to your play store and find lean launcher and launch it
Step 8 Well done its now a full android tablet have fun
Are you sure you don't mean root with the PC version of kingoroot? And then you're stuck with that app...
There is plenty of info on how to root using kingoroot then switch to SuperSU.
As far as deleting the Amazon bloatware you can use a program like Titanium Backup to disable/delete or there is plenty of info on adb commands to do the same.
And then as far as launchers go you can use your choice in the play store. I personally use nova on my hd10 and works great plus looks like Android.

And also there is info in the forums on how to make widgets work with any launcher that's not the fire launcher.

Nova Launcher and Titanium Backup is what I've been using for my parent's HD10's (as well as Apps2SD for swap files). I haven't tried Lean Launcher as of yet but tried most and found Nova to be the most versatile. Maybe I'll give it a go but I'm not in a rush

This is not even close to stock rom. Amazon changed stuff like settings app and a lot of more stuff. You have to remove the whole Amazon framework and replace it with for instance some cm stuff.

But it looks more like Android versus fireos when you switch the launcher, which correct me if I am wrong, is what the OP was going for here. There's also a thread floating around here to do up the status bar/notifications to look more like Android.

Well I agree with you there. Actually in my honest opinion, and I'm not trying to be a ****, but this thread shouldn't even be a thing cuz there's already the same info (granted said info uses a different launcher although it's the same idea with any launcher) in this forum and with a better way of doing it. But that's just one man's opinion.

The keyboard works well enough (I'm writing this on it) despite Logitech's phrasing of "universal". It's not meant for the Fire HD10's since the grips on the corners will either apply pressure to the volume rocker or the power button unless you tweak it, which is easy enough- I just cut a synthetic cork and applied some velcro in the corners to lift them up a bit (I'll attach some pictures). You can find them brand new on Ebay from $12-18 which is about what I feel they are worth. If you don't mind the extra bulk and having to use a kickstand, though, I'd recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Trea...ywords=digital+treasures+tablet+keyboard+case
I'll attach a picture of that too

You are more than welcome- but there is an issue I forgot to mention about the Logitech keyboard:
The "Caps Lock" key. It functions but when you try to shut it off, it turns off the bluetooth of the FIre HD10. I tested it with an HD8 and works just fine but for some reason there is an issue with the 10's- there is a post about it ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/help/firehd-10-fireos-5-6-0-0-caps-lock-t3713802 ) but no permanent solution other than External Keyboard Helper. The Digital Treasures keyboard does not have this issue
Sorry I didn't mention that earlier- I completely forgot

I understand your concern.
I just want members specially jader to choose the right path for future development.
I wont be posting on this issue on that thread anymore though.
We can't have all the newest of apps in GB. That's true. But, we also need to understand that our devices don't have to capability to run those apps without bugs.
I am willing to compromise on the newest features if the apps that we use are reliable and bugfree.
It's better to have a solid app that can do 2 things reliably, rather than the latest app that can do 3 things unreliably or with bugs.

That's fine. But, it would be better if you also share the alternatives for them. Like chrome have mozilla, opera, maxathon etc as better alternatives.
Greenify effect can be replicated in a better way by using rom toolbox and lucky patcher.
Also, I would like to mention here that ' adreno booster' tweak only works on GB and nothing else. And it does improve the performance and speed.

Sent from my MK16i
yeah, on j2gb now, instead of Apex I got me Golauncher, Greenify: not entirely sure I need something similar, so didn't look for an alternative yet.
ok, due to several mistakes on my side, had to reflash it twice, now let's see how the batt. holds up, other that (if a there's a difference in batt. usage) I don't see (except for booting, but since I only do that once in 2 days, not affected by it) any speed increase. Testing right now, but I don't see the LED working not even with "test" in lightmanager, willl report on that and batt. later
oow yeah, using Atomic 8 now
any idea what could be causing the LED malfunction? Quite annoying cause I use it alot

One thing I would like you to do is to flash the Xperia S launcher that is provided as addon in Atomic GB7 in GIN2GB ROM. I am using it right now and it have a lot of features with a very small memory footprint compared to other similar launcher!

I actually thought Touchwiz was pretty good, my only real issue was with folders on the home screen. I organize my apps in folders instead of using multiple home screens. The problem was is that when I launched an app from one of the folders and then got out of the app the system thought I wanted to rename the folder, Got a little annoying.

I am a little confused when there is talk of launchers because some people talk about replacing Touchwiz with a launcher and I use a launcher called CircleLauncher Lite and still use Touchwiz. I use CircleLauncher Lite because it allows me to place icons on my desktop for different links like my Office icon and when I click on the Office icon a ring opens around the icon with icons linked to programs I use that are office related.
So what is the difference in the launcher I use and the launchers that replace Touchwiz?

There isn't so much use for the S-Pen in chameleon as of now (and i don't think there is any support for it, but that's only a guess for now).
I wouldn't say that it is cool yet, but it reeks of potential.
I followed tsf since before release and it looks alot better now. Chameleon looks nice too. But i just feel launcher developers are charging too much. I mean 10 and 16 bucks ya right . Launchers should have free versions and a pro for like 5 bucks tops...

Hi all,
Check out the new JellyBean 4.2 keyboard, which is like Swype only better (IMHO). http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-android-4-2-keyboard-apk/
It allows you to swype to type, but as you are moving your finger the words it guesses show up right next to your finger. When it gets to the right word, you lift your finger, and it types the word. Very cool!
Be aware that you might have to google around to get the apk, as Google is trying to take down the leak. But it works great, and installs on your rooted phone just like any regular app.
for those who have forgotten:
Install the apk
Go to languages and input in settings and select the Android keyboard.
Go to any text box, pull down your notification bar, and select input method that way.
Enjoy!

I know I'm running beans custom and if you go to language and input in setting there is a personal dictionary you can select that I've been using. It stinks you can't add words straight from the keyboard but at least it's a temporary workaround.

Honestly I'd be shocked if the final version doesn't learn the words you use frequently automatically. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't let you add words manually though, Google seems to be going the apple route of less manual fiddling and more "sane defaults".
edit 1 :
Seems to be working fine on my S3 with CR3.1, hopefully we can get an update of the official release once it comes out.
edit: 2:
Scratch that "working fine" comment, I got a hot-reboot while typing which I am going to assume is because of the keyboard. Maybe you JB folks will have better luck.
Works great !!! Thank you

Hi all...
...can you tell me, if is possible edit ORIGINAL moto circle widget for use on another launcher???
...on adw etc???
Good question...will look into it!
The only thing simple is the belief in simplicity.
I just thought I would mention this as an alternative: I saw a theme someone had made, and he had what looked like the Moto circles widget, but it turned out to be Ultimate Custom Widget from the market. It seems that widget is super customizable, with tons of skins and stuff. It might be a good option for people who aren't able to use the stock circle widget.

I would *love* it if you could manage that somehow....I hate having to choose between keeping the circle widget and using a different launcher.
if it helps when you get to working on this there is some code that pertains to the circle widget in the stock launcher might be what the widget looks for on trying to load it.
Cool widget but damn, mine is refusing to update today, hasn't updated since 9:04 this morning. i was about 40 miles away from home, and couldn't get it to update location/weather when i tapped the weather circle to go to the weather app. And i can't find a refresh button or option anywhere. I found some themes that work really well. I kinda like borders around my keys so the android L v3 is wonderful.

Yeah i believe so
auto correct update?
Love the keyboard! Wish that the auto correct bar comes up when entering text in ALL fields except the usual like passwords and numbers. The app works perfectly within the OEM messaging app.
yikes! took out my Action Memo
I loved the keyboard and even endedup installing a mod to force auto correct. After a couple days of use I went for my Action memo and it crash on start every time. I started looking for reasons. Uninstalled the mod for auto correct and no change. Next to go is the keyboard. I followed the following steps but want to know how if this completely uninstalls the files:
1.Use root browser or root explorer to open System/App
2.Put .bak at the end of these files names or delete them -
LGEIME.apk , LGEIME_DICT_XT9_bin.apk , LGEIME_THEME_BLACK#2.apk , LGIme_Theme_HARLEY_DAVIDSON.apk
3.Go to System/Lib and do the same as before except with these 3 files -
libjni_lgeime_native.so , libjni_xt9input_v9.so , libMyScriptHWR.so
4. Reboot your phone
5. Open Settings/Controls/Language and input
6. Lastly, set Samsung Keyboard as your default.
Thanks! Would love to keep but love my action memo more.
