The default browser works for most of my needs. Is there a way to control scrolling speed and to make it smoother when scrolling? I would think this phones hardware is more than capable. Scrolling looked better on my HD2 running andoid off the sd card. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Been using the stock browser, and I have been impressed with the smoothness and functionality. I don't see the shortcomings as you have described. I've toyed with loading up alternate browsers, but I find the default browser to be solid.

Mine looked good on the first phone, but it would not stay on (reboot of death). My second phone works great, but when scrolling it is slower and it appears choppy.
Anyone else notice any weirdness with the stock browser? Not really complaining, but just hoping to further improve.
Why the hell is scrolling in chrome sooooooo sloooooow???
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to improve this? I will settle for insight. My Tf101 had no problem with scrolling in chrome, so it's mind boggling that it is so bad on the tf700.
Also...I have tried it with both ICS and JB. No difference.
Well if your rooted then you can always try browser2 ram if not I suggest dolphin browser with the jet pack add on.
+1 browser2ram.
There is a difference between lag and slow scrolling though.
With lag sometimes the browser seems to freeze for a moment when attempting to scroll. Browser2ram fixes lag.
Slow scrolling, when a scroll up or down gesture moves a seemingly small amount of lines, is a difference between the stock browser and chrome. Browser2ram won't fix slow scrolling.
Also chrome does use GPU rendering I think

Exactly...it's the scrolling I am questioning. I just upgraded from a tf101 to the infinity, and really would prefer to use chrome...but the scrolling/swiping stinks.
When i scroll, sometimes the page doesn't start scrolling until my finger is almost off the device, as if it doesn't register my gesture immediately. Will browser2ram fix this?

If the tablet was busy writing something to the disk cache at that time, then yes. If it was due to some other reason, then no.
When I was using 4.3 the scroll was by no means slow, but I had the occasional stutter here and there in apps like Chrome or baconreader.
Since I've updated I've noticed that the scrolling is even smoother than before, in baconreader I don't get any stutter at all, it's just crazy fast, and Chrome too.
So, was there anything done to scrolling or performance in 4.4 or it's just placebo effect?

I don't know about the scrolling, to me it was always really good so I cant tell the difference. But at least kikat fixed my parsing package problem :]
Is this an issue or a feature? Since I started using the S6 I noticed that the scrolling down on big webpages feels stuck and laggy, it's not smooth as it was in the G2.
Have you noticed it too?
Facebook works kinda good for me...
But chrome work rly bad even after installing that support libary from the appstore
Anyway i have set up the default browser
And it works much much better then chrome
Alot faster and very easy/simple to use...
You should try it.
There's sometjing weird happening with the Java Script in Chrome I believe. IMO the stock Samsung Browser works way better.
changed to stock browser from chrome because of the lagg and poor loading times..stock s6 browser is way faster by a mile! and smooth as silk!!
Hello,
Me and some people from 4PDA found strange bug in all AOSP-based custom ROMs. Scrolling is accelerating too much. I slightly pull my finger, and it already flies down and accelerates. It is very inconvenient to use. Very well evident in apps like Instagram.
This behavior is ONLY on AOSP roms. Lineage OS and MIUI is just fine.
I tried to change scroll configurations in XuiMod ( Xposed module). I changed scroll friction, but it's not working! This setting worked well on LOS and MIUI.
I think scrolling is broken on AOSP roms. I tried the most popular and everywhere it was the same . Plz developers of AOSiP ( @akhilnarang ), Pixel Experience ( @jhenrique09 ), AEX ( @xdatman ) - can you comment this?
I was on AEX and can confirm this bug, switched to Bootleggers and scrolling is back to normal

Because its based on GZAOSP.
This is really crucial thing, I dont understand why all Rom's developers dont notice it.
Yes. I noticed it even on vertical scrolling app drawer when I have lots of apps. I thought it was something like transition issue or my phone is unable to handle the animation properly. But Lineage and MIUI doesn't have that issue at all. It happened while using every launcher like Nova launcher, stock launcher, Lawnchair, Pixel Launcher with stock scrolling speed and animation.
