Google apps crash using any custom rom - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Questions & Answers

Since I started using custom ROMs on my Mind Mix 2S, I started to have the following problems among others:
- Play Store doesn't download apps automatically; they remain "waiting to download" indefinitely unless I restart the phone, at which point it downloads one or two apps and the problem starts again.
- Gmail and Inbox crash as soon as I open them.
- Google Maps crashes when I try to edit a place.
- The Google Feed doesn't load.
- Etc...
Do you guys have any clue what the problem might be?
Thanks!

Does nobody know what the problem might be? Doesn't this (or anything like this) happen to anyone?
Are you guys using custom roms on your Mi Mix 2S without any problem?

Maybe you didnt install something correctly? I had such problem at first installation, then i reinstall room and gapps and it was working well after

I'm quite sure I installed everything correctly... but of course I might be mistaken. Is there a step by step guide I can follow?
I've been using the phone all day without the problem, and suddenly it started happening again. This is what the log says whenever I open the Gmail app (and it force closes):

process com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly
process com.android.bluetooth has stopped
i did a factory reset.but the problem is still exist.
can anybody please help me on this. do i need to install the OS again?
Max
I would root it and install a custom rom, seems to be a problem with your rom. Look up some info on how to root, I recommend installing CM7 or another rom. This should fix your problem.
Hit that thank button if I helped!
Are you installing any special app, i.e. "battery saver", task killer etc.?

Nexus 5 hangs by pressing back on whatsapp media

BTW, this problem also happened to me with stock everything, no root, no kernel, no nothing (except oem unlock).
Sometimes (not everytime, but a lot of times, so it´s bothering) when I click a media (photo or video) in whatsapp, and I press the back button, whatsapp freezes for about 30 seconds, I can pull the drawer and use the phone normally, but if I try to use whatsapp, it just hangs there and eventually comes back. This started happening with Lollipop and older versions of whatsapp, but it´s still bothering me even after a clean flash and Im now on 6.01 with Elemental X 6.11 on my Nexus 5. I´ve tried diferent default media players but same thing happens. I contact whatsapp and at first they blamed my phone being modified (rooted), but it happened after a clean stock flash also. Please can anyone help me diagnose this?
I saved a video of the problem so you can see what I mean: https://plus.google.com/+TarcísioLopesGFC/posts/2fum2Nd2RY5
Well judging from your troubleshooting steps, it seems that WhatsApp is at fault. I would say sit tight until they release a bug fixing update.

Thank you so much for your attention, but unfortunately I don´t think that´s going to happen.
I sent them an email reporting the bug, but they replied saying they can´t troubleshoot a rooted phone,
I then flashed stock firmware and problem still happened so I reported back and never got an answer.
What I wonder is that I haven't seen anyone else reporting this problem, so it might be something on my end, how can I log what´s going on to try to find out the problem myself?
I honestly haven't done a lot of debugging and logging, but what you can try is downloading "alogcat" from the play store, running it, going through the actions that replicate the bug from start to finish, then save the log and send it to the developers. If you want you can try looking through the log to see if anything catches your eye, sometimes the logs are very clear about what the problem is.
Thank you so much, I´ll do that and post back the results.
I think alogcat is not working right on my phone

hmmmm
I got this now:

Hmm, not sure what that means at all. Maybe save the log and send it to whatsapp?

No (not full) internet after device booted completely

Hello,
there is this strange issue I am facing at the moment:
When I boot up my phone, there is internet, I can browse via Chrome, I can fetch mails and everything.
But after 10 seconds, 99% of my connectivity is gone. Chrome says, "Oh no! there is a problem with the website" I am trying to visit (every website). Tugabrowser force-closes then, Aqua-Mail tells me the SSL-Certificate is invalid, Youtube just closes without any error. I can search for apps in the PlayStore and see results, but cannot download anything.
It doesn't matter if I try it using the LTE-connection of my phone or using WiFi.
When I reboot the phone, it works completely for the first 10 seconds and then I get the same problems.
To complete the strangeness: WhatsApp and Spotify work every time (I mean even after those 10 seconds, when everything else stopped working).
Help is highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards
Hecke

Got signed out of all Google accounts, now I can't login

Hello!
I am using Xiaomi Mi9T with MSM X-tended XR v2.0 ROM and Nik Gapps Full.
Yesterday out of nowhere my device restarted and when I put in my PIN, I noticed I had "Account action required" notifications for all my Google accounts. I was signed out of all of them simultaneously. I tried signing in by tapping on the notifications, but that didn't work - after typing in the credentials and logging in, a white rectangle with a spinning circle appeared and stayed on the screen forever (until I go back or tap on the screen).
I then tried removing every account from the device and adding them again - this only worked with my main account, but not the rest. When I try to add an account, I type in all the credentials, click "Apply" and the login screen just disappears, with the account nowhere to be seen. I joined the NikGapps Telegram and a Mod said it has to do with the accounts themselves and that I should check on desktop in the browser whether there are any issues, which I did not seem to find.
I also noticed I can sign in to all my accounts on Outlook just fine, and the mail syncs perfectly OK.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can fix that?
Thank you in advance!
Are you still having this issue? It was happening to me, too. First, it was my google accounts. Solved by logging out of my google accounts from settings. After several days, it was on Twitter App. I have no solution for this, and I'm using Twitter PWA for now.
Yesterday, it happen again with my GitHub Account, and this time I knew something is wrong.

Here's the log. It said that the AccountManagerService can't insert the record to database. From what I know, it is happening because the database itself is dirty, but that's all. I still can't solve this issue. Maybe someone can help?
I'm using Mi9T, NikGApps Full, And syberia_davinci v4.2 (Android 11)
I'm currently experiencing this issue and it's frustrating. Has anyone been able to solve this issue?
Go to Settings - Apps & notifications
Select these three apps, Google Play Service, Google Service Framework and Google Play Store, and clear their cache + data separately
Reboot your Xiaomi device
There must be a problem communicating with Google Servers. Try to resolve it by:
1. Open settings of your Android device.
2. Open option called Apps or App manager.
3. Under 'All Apps' look for the Google Play Services app.
4. Clear cache followed by quick reboot.
Tried to clear caches for those apps, but same problem still exists

Question Issue with com.google.android.gms on crDroid: SystemUpdate spamming log messages and using a lot of CPU.

I'm running crDroid 8 on a Poco X3 Pro, with NikGapps Omni.
[The issue]
Recently my phone's battery has been draining very quickly. I realized that a com.google.android.gms process is constantly using a lot of CPU to spam hundreds of log messages per second.
Apparently this happens because crDroid is pretending to be a Pixel Phone, so Google pushes OTA updates for Pixels for its services, but the updates fail on the X3 Pro and a crashloop occurs.
I found a bunch of threads about this issue going back to longer than a year, but couldn't find any solution, besides disabling some components of Google Play Services which break syncing of Google Apps.
[Questions]
Is there any decent solution to this issue (that doesn't break sync) and stops the issue from reoccuring?
I tried to blacklist a bunch of domains where the OTA updates are supposedly downloaded from, then clear Google Play Services data and cache, but it wasn't enough: logs are still getting spammed.
Would it work permanently, if I re-flashed crDroid and blacklisted those domains before any update happens?
Why is crDroid pretending to be a Pixel Phone, if it periodically results in this issue for every user (at least the ones who use gapps)?
Would you recommend switching to a different ROM that doesn't do this? I'm open to suggestions.

Dev should remove pixel spoof from the rom and if someone really want it then Pixelify is already there
The solution with a root.
Solution №1
Add file-script GmsOff.sh at data/adb/service.d (its magisk folder to autostart scripts)
Write in file:
sleep 130
su -c pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
In the permissions of the script-file, put 3 checkboxes for execution.
Install app Terminal Shortcut Pro. you can create link there, and you must use it to turn service ON before you wanna restart or shutdown phone.
Write at link:
su -c pm enable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
You also can just use terminal, if you dont like Shortcut program.
If you not turn service ON again BEFORE you reboot, there will be problems with receiving notifications AFTER your phone start.
Solution №2
Install Magisk Universal GMS Doze module (I use 1.8.8)
Create file 123.sh at data/adb/service.d
Write there:
sleep 130
cd /data/data ; su -c "find . -type f -name '*gms*' -delete"
In the permissions of the script-file, put 3 checkboxes for execution.
Also there is an option to create a script that will launch the service immediately after the system start, but before Google services fully load, and then disable it after a while.
It turned out like this for me, but your system startup time may be different, you need to select "sleep" values according to the situation.
sleep 20
su -c pm enable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
sleep 80
su -c pm disable com.google.android.gms/.chimera.GmsIntentOperationService
For the future - install only ROMs without "Pixel Spoofing for unlimited Photos storage"
Check my Reddit Post about this problem.
There will be some enhancement to solutions.
