[Q] couple questions...

Can I do a factory reset on a rooted/unlocked phone? I want to give this phone to someone, and get the Galaxy S4, but they want to keep it rooted/unlocked still.
Second question is if I decide not to go through with that, and give it to my wife or something, can she still receive OTA updates on a rooted/unlocked phone? I have not flashed any custom ROMs or kernels or anything, it is still stock.
Thanks!
For the first question, yes you can do factory reset on rooted phone. Regarding OTA updates, check the below thread for having the latest OTA updates on rooted phone :

[Completed] OTA Updates after Root

Hi Guys,
i have some questions concerning rooting. I have a stock Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) with T-Mobile branding. I would like to install a Custom ROM because my battery life is so bad but i love this phone (for example because of its water resistance and the fact that my hobby is diving ).
So my plan is:
1. root my device and install a custom Nougat ROM (to change the screen resolution)
2. when the official update is out i want to go back to stock Firmware
3. now my question: Is it possible to receive OTA Updates after getting back to stock firmware?
I know know is set to 0x1 after a root and im going to lose my varranty but thats no problem, i would only like to receive OTA Updates after going back to stock firmware.
Thank you for your help!
Greetings from Munich and have a great new Year 2017
Hi!
As long as your device is stock, recovery included, you should receive the ota no problem. So flashing stock firmware and recovery should do the trick. :good:
Don't accept an ota if you do happen to get an update notification, if you are not completely stock. It will fail.
Last resort too, is flashing an updated version manually. If that's possible for your device.
Good luck!
I posted i thought but don't see it i rooted an LG ls675 with king root removed a couple preinstalled apps sprint zone and 2 amazon apps I mistakenly tried ota failed found out this unrooted my phone and tried another ota that failed also running stock installed a root browser titanium bu busy box ect do i need to remove these apps or will i have to do factory reset to get this update running 5.1.1

Update already rooted S7 (+Xposed installed)

Hi guys!
I rooted my S7 (SM-G930F [EU-Exynos]) when i first bought it (1 month after release), i rooted it and installed Xposed.
This was a long time ago, but now my phone is begging me once a day to update (which i cant because it is rooted and i want to keep it that way) and this is annoying me.
Now i read alot of threads about installing 7.0 and rooting it but i have not seen a guide to update a already rooted phone (without loosing data) to 7.0.
May someone be able to help me? I dont want to just flash 7.0 and setup my phone from scratch, just update.
And what about Xposed? Is it going to make trouble if i update? Do i have to update Xposed aswell?
Thanks in advanced!
Xposed doesn't support Nougat / 7.0 yet. If you upgrade to 7.0 you will lose Xposed entirely.
I may very well be wrong, but I don't think you can upgrade to 7.0 without doing a full wipe.

Any good ROMs for the Verizon Galaxy S6?

Hi,
After *days* of research, I finally was able to root my Galaxy S6 SM-G920V(erizon) on Android 5.1.1. I was also able to install FlashFire. I'm having trouble finding any custom ROMs though, I tried to flash a stock Oreo ROM but it failed so I had to go through the process of rooting the phone again, which is kinda lengthy and I don't want to have to do each time.
Anyway, if anyone was successful in installing a custom ROM on their Verizon S6, please tell me what ROM you're using so I could check it out.

Updates after Rooting N986B (Exynos)

Hello everyone, this is for the experienced ones.
I bought a Note 20 Ultra last Days and rooted with Magisk and Odin.
So here's the Questions:
How can I get informed about official OS-updates?
How do I install OS updates, after rooting and is it the same method of MD5-patching with magisk and installing via odin?
I suggest that I don't want to lose my userdata like contacts, messages, apps and apps settings and saved data, while updating.
I am aware of being unable to get OTAs directly, as described in rooting-guides.
Best regards,
Mobshredder
