There are 2 vulns showed at black hat 2016 by Salvaor Mendoza the paper is heref the other one in black hat Europe 2017 by HC here essentially it gives tokens for your payment and these can be cracked it is however backed up by know, you need to use a password/fingerprint AFAIK. It also uses NFC so this is another venue for vulns but no different from googles' app.

Samsung pay proclaim to be safe but security is vulnearable part of it. It use MST (magnatic secure transaction), the signal use for simulating magnatic card however these signals can be capture by anyone. If somehow you are not able to make yourself recognize through your fingerprints you can simply use Samsung pin code. This code is setup by you.

Does anyone know if it is still possible to bypass reactivation lock? I'm looking to buy a phone off swappa, and seller says IMEI is clean and I checked it, but that it is reactivation locked. I don't want to buy unless I can unlock it. Thanks.

That's good. Really good. Remember that thiefs are using xda too and if there's a way, that lock would be useless.
Good knowing that no one discovered it...
You can download the firmware from sammobile.com and flash it with odin.
How to bypass?

I was able to bypass the reactivation lock ... however
I can't turn it off now in settings and download mode confirms this.
I can factory reset and also flash with odin but it still doesn't turn off even logging back in successfully and not doing the bypass.
How will todays update that includes updates to RL effect this and my status.
Thanks!

Typically the thieves that steal a phone are dumb and don't know anything about XDA. Activation locks can always be bypassed, as long as the SIM card can be replaced. Top of the line activations are usually bypassed by modifying the DNS to go to a hacked server.
But you would have to replace the SIM card most of the time as it is blocked by the carrier.
There are other ways to track a phone, even if you did flash it and replace the SIM card. It's just a question if the police care enough to go into tracking it beyond the SIM card and GPS signal. Most do not go into that depth unless there was really sensitive data on the phone.

Maybe... But you know that xda is really popular... And that's good, but in that case, if a xda member discover a way, there will be leaks in all directions... And there WILL be users that upload a dumb-proof instructions on how to do it. And that will be bad...

Security always gets bypassed. If you are concerned about the unlikely event your data is compromised you should use a flip phone. If data security is not a concern, theft insurance may be a good investment instead.
Any news on this? I bought one from an auction with a clean ESN but activation locked... (the auction was a cellular wholesale auction) The original owner is not known...

Hi
Facing the issue of being unable to remove the activation lock on my iPhone - I'm of course using the same samsung account as the one I used for activating the lock.
I receive a message prompting to use the same samsung account as the one used for locking the S3...
Tried to connect it to my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, but I have the same results...
I'm stuck!
Any idea of anything I should try out before I send the device for servicing?
Thanks!
Rodolphe
self-replying...
I returned the device for servicing.
Samsung charges approx. 70 USD for "attempting" to reset the watch, without any guarantees it will work!!!
I find it a bit harsh - is this common practice?
Rod
Ouch! That's crazy expensive without any surety.

Have you tried doing a hardware factory reset (hold down the power key then repeatedly tap it) on the watch?

Reactivation lock survives from resetting the watch. Even if you -by reflashing- make the watch forget about the lock, the second you try to pair it, gear manager will check watch’s serial number online and if it is reactivation locked by some other samsung account it wont let you pair with it.
Correct - tried all these options. The lock survives.
I don't how it got screwed up: I always used the same Samsung account, whether on the S7 or the iPhone.
I did lock and unlock it successfully on the S7.
I could lock it on the iPhone, but the unlock failed eventually.
And now I'm left with an unusable device.
Hopefully Samsung can unlock it.
Can't really tell if the iPhone version of Gear S is at fault or anything else happened in the background.
OK. Did you try logging into your Samsung account from a computer, erasing the device and removing it from your account? Basically the steps you would go through if you were going to sell the device.
I am Also Facing Same..
I Too received the same message and same problem. i am stucked. fcked ..
the same samsung id is used now it says enter the id used to lock gear previously.
but the both id used is same. then also it is not unlocking.

Unlock without activation code on iPhone
I am too having the same problem and have tried since January April to get it resolved and no one knows how and I'm also out $399 for a watch that doesn't work and was promised to work with iPhones. Wtf and I can't do anything about it
Does anyone know what to do?
I've contacted T-Mobile, Samsung customer service via phone and email, and bust-buy and even a Samsung help center. But no one know how to unlock it
Same with me! No iPhone involved, hehe.
I'm from Brazil and bought a pre owned Galaxy Gear S3 in a Game Stop store January this year. I locked my Gear with my Samsung account in a Galaxy Note 8 and it worked fine for 3 months. After a restore to restabilish a freeze, I couldn't unlock it. I tried Game Stop, Samsung and TMobile support, no success. Reflash and factory default didn't help.
Samsung support in Brazil don't support a imported device, so I just have a little brick... Send this device to USA is too expensive. Knowing that Samsung will charge 70 dollars for a try is tragic.
If someone knows a way, please share!
Obs: in my anguish I found a site that promises a unlock. Is there any base for their method? Or this is just a scam?

Currently my S22 ultra has a knox configure that says my phone is currently configured for Smart Communications I want to use another Carrier for my phone can anybody help me please
Likely not. That type of lock is very secure.
It also violates forum rules to provide information on how to hack it.
Don't get XDA in trouble.

It's either stolen or it's a company phone and even trying to modify it will get you fired. Either way, you won't get answers here.
Hello Everyone
I purchased a S22 ultra for a couple of buck.
And it has the Samsung KG lock. As the previous owner hasn't completed the payments.
I spoke to Samsung, But they refused to deal with the matter because it requires the original purchaser.
I wast thinking of just trying to make use of this phone before selling it for parts. I have temporarily bypassed the Setup screen (Using the Accessibility menu). I have access to setting and the one ui home. But I cannot enable Developer options. Is there any way I can enable it to unlock OEM
Legally no, you cannot do anything if Samsung themselfs do not want to unlock the phone.
Illegally you probably can, but on this forum you will not get the answers as any illegal link/information is forbidden.

Rooting will disable Knox. It's not illegal, it can void your warranty though. Trying to bypass the phone being disabled because it wasn't paid off, that is not legal.

Rooting would disable Knox...but you can't root without unlocking the bootloader. You can't unlock the bootloader without unlocked Knox.
Furthermore...the lock that is active in this particular situation in not the same. This is called KnoxGuard....and it active ant the bootloader level...and therefore not removable.

But what if a man has been fooled and and have purchased a 2nd devices ,having k g lock, as due to lack of knowledge of the new security system introduced by the companies , there should be a way to deal with this situation , i understand it is illegal but after all it all demand case to case.
