I was running a rooted installation of 5.1.9 with TWRP as recovery. I updated TWRP to 3.2.3 by downloading the zip to storage and flashing. Now it won't boot to OS. I'm not sure what I screwed up here.
Go to the reboot menu inside TWRP and check what slot you are on, try switching it to the alternate and see if that boots. Did you make ANY other changes than the TWRP flash? Also did you flash the image or the zip?
Flash Magisk after you have the update of twrp on the phone than its works.

So, i have used my whole saturday on unlocking the booloader which was the easiest and quickest and then trying to root, but that has failed every time. I first flashed the stock firmware zip 9.0.2 then I go back I dont reboot and flash the twrp and magisk zip and then it wont boot up,
when I try rebooting after flashing the firmware back to the system it sends me to the firmware,
when I try flashing a new firmware and then boot into fastboot then twrp and flash magisk it wont boot up,
and when I do the same only with twrp it wont neither.
I have tried sevel magisk versions, 17.1,17.2,17.3 none of them worked
as for the twrp blu spark or the one from the twrp website, i was always able to boot into twrp but not really to flash it as that would end in a twrp loop
can PLEASE anyone, someone, with a good heart and patience help me ? im really loosing my ****s over this
:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Try booting into blu_spark twrp
Installing blu_spark twrp
Rebooting to blu_spark twrp
Install magisk 17.3 or 17.1 (I am using 17.3 because it it beta but less stable.)

The normal twrp is known to be buggy on the OnePlus 6 since there was encryption and stuff. Here is the blu_spark twrp IMG to boot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=30485
And here you need to flash the blu_spark twrp: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=30484
Flash that then reboot into recovery again
Then flash magisk
If this doesn't work for you I think there is another way.

You might be on the wrong slot. DO you even have a system to boot to? Not sure why you even tyred flashing the 9.0.2 ROM. If I was you I would start over. Use the fastboot ROM to get a clean wiped system booting. After that
fastboot boot bluespark twrp v86. Img
Flash bluespark twrp v86. Zip
Reboot revovery
Flash magisk 17.1

I flashed the rom because my phone didn't boot up anymore after either flashing TWRP or magisk.
Why should I use the fastboot room, what is the benefit if I use it.
Is the reboot to recovery necessary ? I feel like that part is actually not working properly ?

Yes the reboot to recovery is the most nessesary part of it as it will change slots.
You can try boot to recovery
Flash oos full rom
Flash bluespark twrp. Zip
Reboot recovery
Flash full ROM again
Flash bluespark twrp. Zip again.
Reboot recovery
Flash magisk.

Can you explain how to properly boot back into recovery?
Previously I either just went on the back button and flashed the other Zip's or I went back to the reboot overview and pressed recovery there but that also did not seem to work properly I think.

I've been away for about a year so I'm behind on everything right now. I just flashed a factory image to get back to Android 8.1 and set my phone up from scratch. I would like to install TWRP and Magisk but have some questions..
TWRP. Do I just find the latest TWRP for this phone and the process is the same as before? Fastboot flash twrp img and then install TWRP zip?
Magisk: I have never used it before so I'm not to familiar at all. From what I can tell I just download the zip and install via twrp? Is there a specific version I should be looking for for the Pixel on 8.1 or will the latest from the Magisk forum work?
I've searched around and keep seeing random issues so I'm wondering if it's as straight forward as mentioned above. I see posts about people trying to install TWRP and Magisk and bootlooping and stuff like that. Thanks!!
Hello look here for the latest Recovery. https://twrp.me/google/googlepixel.html
Flash the TWRP image over the PC.
fastboot boot recovery TWRP.img
Then Flash it via TWRP. (the zip file on your sdcard).
The device has an A and B Partition. It would Flash on both.
If you Flash an custom Rom you Flash it on A Partition you must Flash TWRP.zip again. Reboot the device. After an reboot to Recovery you on B Partition automatically. Here you can Flash Magisk and other zips like custom Kernel or other.
If you Flash the custom Rom on B Partition you must flash magisk and other stuff on A Partition.
With Magisk 18.0 stable, some people have bootloops when flashing TWRP.
Best thing to do is just boot TWRP img when needed instead of flash the zip, maybe this has been fixed with latest canary builds but it's better boot the image just to be sure
Ive tried uninstalling magisk using the un-installer and no go. Ive tried booting into twrp then flashing the twrp zip then rebooting into recovery and it goes to the stock recovery. How do i get back TWRP?? Im on Pie and was using twrp .65
NVM: I had to re-flash 9.5.11 then twrp then reboot then magisk 19.4
I am in your same situation oneplus7.
Currently I was with twrp 3.3.1.1 but there is no way to catch any recovery. By flashing the image either version 1/65/70 (more current) by fastboot it enters correctly img you access twrp to later flash the zip But it never gets installed.
I tried to uninstall using img twrp Magisk zip uninstaller and install the 19.3 / 20v uninstall it completely and flash back to zip twrp but I am in a dead end.
Right now I am with Magisk v20 root edxposed and everything goes phenomenally as a result that I am going to "peel" without having twrp for my backups or anything.
Anyone have any idea how to install twrp again?
boot into twrp.img then flash the last rom you were using, then flash twrp.zip, reboot into recovery and install magisk 19.4. After reboot you will have to enable all your rooted apps again and install your magisk modules again.
So yea I tried to follow this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-flash-twrp-root-t3954559/page11#post80840591
And I kinda messed up. The main mistake that I think I did was I used "Install Recovery Ramdisk" and selected the TWRP.img
Can anyone help? Can I undo that?
twrp is supposed to be done like that should flash magisk after and it will boot always flash magisk after twrp or it wont boot after magisk you flash kernel
Flash OOS through Fastboot
you should be able to either flash the TWRP installer zip or flash your current OS in TWRP.
Thanks everyone, everything's working now
I patched twrp img with magisk and then ran fastboot flash boot "patched file" in fastboot mode. Now, whenever and however I start my system I get only the twrp menu. My device is Lenovo tab 4 8(tb-8504f)
Re-flash tablet's Stock ROM to get rid off of all modifications you applied so far.
re flash the ROM. dont flash the magisk or twrp after it. you will be saved.
you can use twrp via adb boot twrpxx.img So flashing it not needed.
Magisk installation has now become trickier simply flashing via recovery won't work

hello thanks for replying. Could you provide me with the official rom. I've found one but not sure how reliable it is. I also in the twrp menu installed the patched twrp image from sd card to boot. After rebooting I again get the twrp menu but the file is not being show in sdcard anymore.
