Miracast (wireless display) issue on Mi Note 3 - Xiaomi Mi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I have the last global stable 9.5.3.0 on my Mi Note 3.
I try to connect my phone with my Smart TVs (LG 2017 and Samsung 2016) that support Miracast tecnology (on the Android phone is called "wireless display").
In both case the connection process run well and I can see the screen of my phone on the TVs but, in both case, the image have glitch (the images displayed are corrupted in various parts) (also if I put the phone near the television the issue remains).
Is there some that use this function and has the same behaviour?
Is there a fix ?
UPDATE: I also run the same connessions with an Samsung S8 and in this case all run well (without glitch) then now I'm sure that the issue is on Xiaomi phone (and not on TV or other)

Surface Pro 2 and Wireless Display

I recently got Surface Pro 2 along with Netgear PTV3000. I updated the firmware on PTV3000 and also run the Windows Update on Surface Pro 2. Once everything was up to date, I setup the wireless display and it worked as advertised.
Now the issue I have is that every time I want to use the wireless display, I have to go through a whole sequence of steps in order to make it work. This includes the following
- Toggle Wifi
- Remove PTV3000 from Devices
- Search and Add PTV3000 in Devices
- Use Wireless display
One thing I noticed that my Wireless Network driver date is 8/2/2013 (version 14.69.24039.134) and it I believe that it is not the latest and Windows update does not find a newer driver.
So, I would like to know if there is any other way around this whole song and dance to keep the widi working without going through all the hoops?

J7 activar screenmirroring

somehow activate the smart view (screen reflection) in galaxy j7 2016?
I'm not sure the J7 has native screen mirroring. I was looking into it for mine a while ago, and it seems it's not a native feature to the phone. However, it appears chromecast offers the ability, but you need the newest version or whatever to avoid excess lag between the phone the monitor, and it requires a router, etc..

Does anyone else have issues with screen mirroring on the 7 Pro?

Hey everyone, can you test your screen mirroring feature on your phone and tell me if it works? I can't find many bug reports about it. For me it doesn't work.
My OnePlus 6 can presently cast the screen directly to my Roku stick and Roku TV without any issues.
I bought a 7 Pro (Oxygen OS 9.5.3 GM21AA) and enabled "wireless display" and this is what happens:
- I select Cast from the drop-down notification bar
- It searches forever without finding anything
- I click Settings
- It finally finds and shows me my available Roku device (or any TV that has screen mirroring)
- I select the one I want
- It says connecting
- instead of connecting, the list of eligible devices, including the one I am connecting to goes blank
- The list gets reset and nothing is connecting
Any attempt to try again, after I reset my phone, restarted my modem and my WiFi etc gives me the same situation.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I hate when older devices work great and newer ones don't. Both are running Android 9.
No? Just me? Lol
Hi, for me it works. Chromecast, shield tv, google home or integrated cast.
BUT, there is an issue with the resolution, my tv is 1080p, source too, but I have black margins around..
@cainman
1. You must have WIFI enable to be able to use Screen Mirroring.
2. Go to Cast setting and tap the 3dots and enable it.
Been Mirroring my device my device since day 1 without problems.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F with Carlinkit Carplay dongle--problem

My Lenovo Tab 2 (6.0 Marshmellow stock, unlocked, not rooted) refuses to work with my latest acquisition (Carlinkit Carplay dongle from Aliexpress). The wired plus wireless dongle works on any android above 4.0 and I've tested it on phones from Android 5 to 7 without a problem.
However with my Tab 2 (which I was going to install in my car as a handsfree and navigation unit paired with my phone), it simply refuses. One has to install an app called Autokit (address on vendor's page in Aliexpress) on Android device. When I connect my phone via wireless, it attempts many times and either fails and starts all over, or the screen goes blank (with phone saying it's in carplay mode), or gives warning "The navigation machine [i.e. my tablet] does not support current settings. Please disconnect your phone and enter the Settings page to enter compatible mode."
In settings page I have three "working modes"--speed, fluency and compatible. I understand them to be resolutions: full HD, HD and lesser (VGA?). I get this message on both speed and fluency. In compatible mode, I briefly see the screen loading before it hangs and disconnects.
If I attach phone with dongle with a cable, the app does not react at all and still goes on wifi and blueooth looking for a device.
However in other phones I've tested on, I've had no problem with either of the three modes, or cable phone-to-dongle connect.
Questions:
1. Is it possible to upgrade/ change settings on Lenovo Tab 2 to accept my dongle or is it a lost cause?
2. I understand the dongle has its own wifi and bluetooth, and doesn't rely on cable. Therefore, it must be some USB protocol in the tab which is causing difficulties (as dongle works fine on other phones). Is this logical?
3. If so, there ought to be a better way than disposing my trusty Tab 2 and shopping for a used tab which will accept my dongle?
Thanks.

Question ANT+ support missing?!

Hello,
I just received my new S21+ and transferred all data and applications to it. All good, but when I tried to start ANT+ connectivity... to my dismalness, I noticed that support seems to be missing:
ANT Tester reports that built-in ANT was NOT detected, so it's missing built-in firmware or ANT HAL service (!!!) And yes, I do have installed ANT Radio service and ANT+ plugins.
Anyone else can see that? This is a complete deal braker for me, as I use my phone often to connect to cycling sensors.
Hola
You are not alone. Sammy removed Ant+ support on the S21 series. I am into home cycling as well and I am now forced to change a few of my monitors to Bluetooth. Luckily my Tacx smart trainer supports Bluetooth and Ant+, if that wasn't the case I too would have been mad.
It took me a while to find out about this as it is not clearly articulated online about this missing feature.
Damn, that's pretty disappointing. Yes, I have sensors with Bluetooth support, but it's finicky when I switch between PC (for Zwift) BT and my phone BT. It works better when I'm able to use PC BT and phone ANT+. Oh well.

Hi
I have an S20 FE and there's no ANT + here either.
From what I've read because there is no HAL service.
however the phone is listed on the ANT website as being compatible.
I've tweeted and messaged Samsung , Google and Android developers but had no reply.
Same as you I use my phone with Cycling apps so it's really annoying.
I was planning to add custom rom support for S21 devices and while looking into firmware, I found, all stuff related to ANT was removed.(I was looking s21 ultra firmware specifically) So probably it's been removed from s21 devices
You *should* be able to use your Ant+ devices *IF* you plug an OTG USB dongle into your phone, and then plug an Ant+ dongle in it.
I used to use my Poco F1 for my rides outdoor, with my Ant+ devices (powemeter, cadence, HR monitor) when it was under Android 8.x. Since I upgraded it to Android 9.x, then Android 10.x, Ant+ is not enabled anymore. The trick with OTG/Ant+, works.

New S20FE owner here.
One of the reasons (but not the only reason!) I picked the S20FE was most mobile phone spec websites (GSM arena etc..) list the S20FE as including ANT+!
Checking again the ANT certified list they ONLY mention certified:
"Meet Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra."
Not the FE!!
And also checking samsung.com for the specs; under Connectivity; S20 clearly states ANT+ YES - BUT this is missing in the S20FE and all the later S21 series phones!
I imagine of the millions of phones sold - actual ANT+ users are a small %! shame.
Samsung appear to have dropped Ant+
I now have a newer S21 plus 5g (so not an FE version) and Ant+ doesn't appear.
I can now do wahat I need, use a cycling smart trainer and HR monitor, using bluetooth.
