How to Cast Nokia 3 - Nokia 3 Questions & Answers

Good day to everyone, i just want to ask if there is a way to enable Nokia 3 Cast capability. Apparently it is disabled in the build.prop under "persist.debug.wfd.enable=0." Many thanks to your response.

[Request] Port Knock code from LG

Hello developers of Note 3 and Android
As everyone knows there is a great feature in LG called Knock Code and Knock On feature.
So it is an request that if any one can port this to our Note 3 to enhance the usabiity
I know about KNOCKER but that is not an option to Knock on feature, has used LG G2 for 6 month before I dropped the phone, really to be frank it is very easy to use one handed.
Thanks in advance
Hi you can use of this app

Thanks dear, But I have already mentioned about knockr as there are many people complaing about the battery and say that the screen use to be always on
Knockr sucks!! Anything to do with the LG's ease of access won't work well on our phones because:
1. It promotes laziness
2. We already have many ways of turning on our screen.
3. The battery drain is just too immense!
Sammy use cheap butons, they broke in time, maybe in 3 - 6 month or more. I use Gravity screen.
Note 3 rooted knox 0, bootloader locked, my last Samsuck crap. I want freedom.

I've had the HTC One M8 for couple months and the double tap to unlock and other gestures were fantastic and where not battery draining. If you don't like these features it's ok but you don't need to be so negative and I'm sure many Note III owners would love theses features, more features=more fun
I really wouldnt mind the real knock code from LG on my N9005 . I havent owned an lg but played with a few and it was fun, and I have the knock feature on my secondary phone, lumia 920 and i think it's quite useful. My skills are not advanced enough to help, but I can offer myself as a tester, my warranty covers everything, including knox tripped

It has this feature only if you manually turn off your screen and it will work to wake up your phone just in the first few seconds afterwards...not a fully fledged knock on code...

Some questions before buying..

Hi guys!
Im wondering about a few things before I decide if im gonna retire my LGG4 for this great looking Honor 8.
Is it possible to add more softkeys? Like for pulling down the notifications!?
Is there any way to active double-tap to wake up?
If I wish, can I change the DPI to my needs?
Which xposed modules are confirmed working? And how good is the community development for this phone?
How does Huawei treat its customers? Are they fast and frequent with new updates and such?
Last but not least, any problems with bluetooth, LTE or wifi here in Europe and especially Sweden? =)
Many thanks in advance for your help guys!

1. Yes, you can add a softkey to pull down the notification drawer.
2. Not yet.
3. Yes, but you'll need to root and install BuildProp Editor.
I don't know anything else about the rest of your questions.

The Customers are treated very well by Honor. I think it also depends on your country.
As for as India is concerned, I still get calls for updating New OS and their feedback after 1.5 years of buying my Honor 7.
Thanks for your replies guys. I might just have to buy this little puppy =) Too bad the deliverydate is 3-4 weeks on my supplier =/

You don't have to be rooted to change your DPI for more info go to this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/to-change-dpi-t3453117

You can't add more soft keys. That requires modding and there are a couple Xposed modules that can do the job for you. However, there is an option in Stock ROM to add a soft key for pulling down the notifications bar so you'll achieve that.

Available on most of the Huawei and Honor devices. The feature is always present in kernel but sometimes disabled in stock ROM. A simple build.prop and local.prop edit can enable this option if it's hidden or not present.

I guess that's already answered. You can use 'adb' to achieve it without root and it's permanent.

All modules that don't modify the UI largely will work without problems. However modules like Gravity Box, Android Nify and such modules that were designed keeping AOSP in mind will not work. However modules that modify the Status bar icons or Navigation bar buttons will work great but they do tend to break after every EMUI update. However most modules like Greenify, Force Doze, MinMinGuard and etc. will work without problems. Rule of thumb, modules that don't change the UI largely will work without problems.

No idea about their customer service but the updates are fast. However don't expect latest security patches to be pushed to your device every month.

Huawei devices are regional based and hence the frequencies are supported keeping the region it's released to in mind. However, devices are global so the chances of problems here are less.
I answered questions best to my knowledge. If you need any help, just hit me with a PM.

Active Edge Customization with Edge Sense Plus

I want to provide a magisk module that makes it possible to use my app: Edge Sense Plus
Therefore I will hook into the Active Edge Service called ElmyraService in SystemUIGoogle.apk.
Probably we will need to modify services.jar too to bypass the signature check.
Who is interested in this, or would it be waste of time for me?
Would need testers too, since I don't have a Pixel 2.
You should be familar with adb, to push, pull files and taking logcats
Hangouts link: https://hangouts.google.com/group/6cSKdk3No2lNAMs62
From what I understand you would like to make it so you can assign your own actions to the edge squeeze button? I would be interested as I don't use Google Assistant, I have knowledge basic knowledge about abd push/pull.
I also have a Pixel 2 walleye, I would love to help if I'm understanding correctly. :good:

Yeah, I fixed the link, was broken before: Edge Sense Plus
It would also enable double squeeze gesture.
Long squeeze seems not supported on the pixel 2?

How about a Magisk module that let's us run Viper ROM on a Pixel 2?? Lol. Sorry couldn't resist. Came from an HTC 10 and really miss your work.
I´am willing to help!
I´ve gotten it to work by making my app a system app in order to be able to register the elmyra sensor without google assistant enabled.
The problem i encountered is that you will need to go in to the setting where you enable active edge in order for it to start working and it will stop working as soon as the settings app isnt active/in memory anymore.

Yeah, the squeeze sensor is just available for system apps.
Went that way first on the u11 too.
But having it work just for rooted users was no option for me.
On the u11 the squeeze actions are custumizable though.
So it is possible to let start apps on a short/long squeeze.
That way the squeeze gestures can be forwarded to my app.
Not possible on the pixel 2 though. That's why we need a magisk module with a modified Systemui apk that modifies 4th he elmyra service

Can you pull me some files from the pixel2xl, so I can check if the files are the same?

Question Hello! wanted to know you.

in the firmware "one ui" there is a function in the bluetooth "multimedia" so the reason is that if the Samsung device has the fifth version of the bluetooth, then you can connect 2 pairs of headphones or speakers at the same time. I wanted to know if there is such a firmware for my poco, because in the stock firmware it is impossible to pair 2 devices at the same time!
nope, i didn't see nor tried pairing with 2 device. It only pairs 1.

Dual SIM Ringtones - Pixel 6 & Pixel 7
I'm not sure why this thread was not posted on this site (on Reddit) and decided to bring it over to XDA-Developers. My previous phone was a OnePlus 7T and experienced no issues setting a ringtone for each SIM (Business & Personal), to find out...

Thanks for answer! This simple answer I find out is true, this complicated with some issues I have seen too, but asked anyway - maybe I overlook some better option. Than I specially wonder why Google did not add this simple function on this quite advance mobile phone with mounts of functions and gimmicks? It was already on my 5 years old Huawei P30.

You can have Dual Ringtones on the Pixel 6 or 7 - check out my previous reply, it's easy to configure and works fine. It would be nice if Google did this via OS Layer instead of using 3rd party App (Automate) - It works!
