Hi all,
I am probably going to order one of these gorgeous phones this weekend and I'm trying to determine the best place to do so. I will be using it on Verizon in the US so CDMA and global LTE bands are a must. I've found the phone on GearBest for $529.99 and a local eBay seller listing it for $539.99 and shipping from Houston (4 hours from me). The only problem I'm seeing is that the eBay listing seems to imply that though the phone is the "Global" version that it is GSM only and does not list the CDMA bands at all. They do state that it has all the global LTE bands though, which is why I'm confused. GearBest seems to list everything correctly, however the shipping would likely take much longer and end up costing around the same.
What do y'all think? I've included links to both below.

GearBest: https://goo.gl/qAtRxP
Swappa... If you can find white, otherwise settle for black and just get an official Xiaomi case... Mines black but looks awesome now with the official red case on it!
As for bands, this is the easiest way.

As far as making sure you get global, it says it on the back of the packaging above the UPC label.
As of right now, you cannot get the 8GB / 256GB variant as far as I know in Global.

Because there is no "global" 8GB / 256GB variant. It doesn't matter anyway because 8GB / 256GB variant supports all bands, just like the global variants of 64Gb and 128Gb variant

Definitely, Xiaomi doesn't sell a "gobal" variant of any phone....
Also the 8GB / 256GB variant does not come with the "global" version of MIUI9, just the China ROM.

Had to read it 5 times until I figured out what you wanted to tell me fixed the typo
I know I need the global version I'm just skeptical of the eBay seller since they claim it's GSM only. That appears to NOT be the case even if you do end up with the China only version. I've messaged them for clarity so we'll see what they say.
Meanwhile I will look on Swappa for unopened versions.
I have the black 128gb global version. I have a pre-activated Verizon SIM in it and everything seems to work fine. I usually use it for LTE data, but I can make calls with it. I'm using 3g data right now. Any specific questions?

The same one linked above? Or do you have a link to the one you bought? I'd appreciate it.
Just a question, do the Global Editions come with the Global ROM, as I notice the actual ROM isn't available for download on the Xiaomi site yet, so wondered if some phones can come pre-installed with it, and it's just not available for download for general use yet.
The reason I ask is because of the one sold here: https://uk.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_1698637.html
Will this be the Global ROM? (Not the China one, set to English)
Sorry to use this thread, but it seemed fairly relevant, and didn't want to start a new one. I too am looking to buy one of these devices, but just want to make sure I get the Global ROM version, and the device that supports Band 20.
I bought from that seller. 64 gig version. Works fine on Verizon with the newest global version or EU version.. It didn't on the first version.
i have buy the white version from this seller: https://www.alternate.de/Xiaomi/Mi-Mix-2S-64GB-Handy/html/product/1449557?event=search

Chinese and global versions both support band 20. The description says "unlocked for worldwide use" which sounds for me like they flashed the global rom on the chinese model but later when they list all the bands the bands of the global variant are listed too so I'm not sure either... However since you are in the UK it doesn't matter if you buy global or chinese model because both are compatible. You only need global variant if you live in the US or in Africa

I just received my 64gb global version from the Houston eBay seller. I can't get dual LTE working when I have both Verizon and T-Mobile SIM cards in the phone at the same time. If I just use the Verizon SIM only I can get LTE. But using Verizon for voice and T-Mobile for data, the Verizon SIM drops down to CDMA - 1xRTT, which has terrible coverage (it's their 2G equivalent). Anyone have any experience with this?

How sure you are about this statement and what is your source?
Maybe things have changed?
At least tradingshenzhen is selling a multilanguage global 8/256gig version?!
And to questions they answer its original xiaomi with ota updates and so on!

Great to know thank you for confirming! Regarding your issue, their 3G coverage is woeful nowadays because they're phasing out the network. Their goal was to be 100% LTE last I saw by the end of 2019. So all Verizon call traffic will probably be VoLTE soon.

Hi everyone,
I'm about to buy this phone from china, and it comes with two versions
-TDD mobile version
-FDD telekom/unicom version
Now, I know that the suitable one for europe is the FDD, but the TDD is a lot cheaper, and aliexpress vendors are also selleing it cheaper and saying that with flashing a new ROM you will get the FDD bands (only in one SIM, for me it's enough).
Can anyone here confirm it?
Many thanks.
That sounds like the Mi4 not the Mi4C. The 4C is capable of FDD and TDD, there are no different versions.

it's the Mi4c, in fact here is an example of a aliexpress vendor with two versions of the Mi4c (both 2/16 GB)
http://es.aliexpress.com/store/product/Original-Xiaomi-Mi4c-Mi-4c-4G-FDD-LTE-Mobile-Phone-Snapdragon808-Hexa-Core-5-0-inch/900031_32547896903.html?storeId=900031&aff_platform=aaf&sk=IYbMNznYJ:&cpt=1462555534080&aff_trace_key=4b5006033c6649c580c30b5e0492b08c-1462555534080-02056-IYbMNznYJ
I confirm when flashed no difference, buy cheapest.

Thanks, any special way to flash the ROM, or any ROM in particular?
Well.. It seems really odd to me.
I've never heared of an TDD version of it, and I am quite sure, they only made one with FDD/TDD.. but of course, it could be, that I missed something.
Also the fact, that they have a "special" rom doesn't sound good to me...
And since you are going to flash a new one, you would lose the WCDMA capability. (In the case of the strange TDD unlocked one)
Regarding the Rom, I am using miuipro.ru, because I want a german rom, and I'm happy with it.
Xiaomi.eu is really good as well, and sMiui should be also good.
So I would suggest one of those three. Depending on your desired language, and root etc. All three are multilingual, if I'm not mistaken.
For flashing, you probably need to unlock the bootloader, for flashing TWRP. There should be a tutorial on xda.

I bought mine on fasttech during a 20% rabatte period - There where two models with different model numbers showned on the genuine box if i remind well it was given at TDD and FDD/TDD and it was claimed to have same 4G frequency after flashing. So i bought the cheapest and when received update with official chinaDev 5.10.8 (a downgrade in fact) don't remmind exactly why, after that and perhaps in consequence i reboot in mi recovery and flashed TWRP and after begun to flash unofficial roms. Actually i use a lighted sMiu (more options removed) 6.4.28, i dind't find any issue for my use on it so i will let stuck on that for a while, i never find any limitation so i think there is no, only one model materially exist for me. My Mi4c Prime works great and i love it.

Did you succeed? It will save me 11 USD if I order the TD-LTE version over the FDD-LTE and flash it to support FDD-LTE subsequently. Living in Europe, so need FDD-LTE. I can use 1800, 2600 (and the 800 mhz, but that seems unlikely from XDA posts).
So, can you give an update here - did you in fact enable FDD-LTE on a TD-LTE version by flashing?
Cheers!

I just noticed the sticker on the back of mine says TD-LTE.
I'm also in Europe, using bands 3/7 and it works fine. I've been using it for about a week and a half and LTE reception seems to be on par with my N5 and 2nd gen Moto X
Hi all,
Looking at replacing my Nexus 5X with an Honor 8 from the US (FRD-L04). I split my time between the USA and Australia, and as such I need good band support in both countries.
In the USA, I use T-Mobile which looks as though it'll be fine.
In Australia, I use Telstra. They use the following frequencies:
LTE
Name Interface
B1 (2100) LTE
B3 (1800 +) LTE
B28 (700 APT) LTE
Supported LTE Protocols
Name Generation
LTE 4G
LTE-A 4G

I am a bit confused, because in some places it indicates that the phone does not support the LTE bands in Australia. But according to the HiHonor website, it supports all but one of them.
Any guidance on this? Thanks.

Hmm, see here is the problem.
According to frequencycheck, L14 supports B1 and 3, but not 28 and L04 supports neither.
But yet according to Honor themselves and even BestBuy, the phone should support everything I need for both Telstra and T-Mobile (except Band 28 which is no big deal for me).
So, which is correct? I'm sure you can see my confusion.

Trust the manufacturer. Honor official site will have correct info
I can confirm FrequencyCheck is incorrect. I can also, however, say I wouldn't want a phone without band 28 in your situation. The lower frequency should have much better coverage.

hey where would everyone buy their oneplus 6 now? oneplus UK is £467 after student discount. I'm after the 8gb 128gb version. the matte black version.
I like the 6t but the finger scanner is gonna be slightly slower than rear right?
tech in the basket is like 420 but what about warranty etc?
Thanks
any new recommendations for buying the 6?or is everyone going 6t? I'm not liking slower unlock screen on the 6t, maybe the 7 will be good? I'm. coming from 5t
i think; if you don't wait one plus 7, you have to buy one plus 6.
i think oneplus 6 > oneplus 6T
probably oneplus 7 will come may or june 2019. And include snapdragon 855. :good:
Same cam, same processor, same ram, same performans. (oneplus 6 vs 6T)
i agree you, slower fingerprint in 6T.
I bought mine on Gearbest (the CN/IN version, A6000). It is now on discount for €352/ 317 pounds for the 6/64gb one. Really cheap now.

Just want to say I completely agree with this. I'll be buying a 6 for my wife and daughter and skipping the 6T completely.
6T is not much of an upgrade and in some respects a downgrade with the missing headphone jack.
I prefer the fingerprint scanner at the back as it unlocks really quick with fewer steps to get into the phone. Most of the stuff is the same so no point moving to the 6T.
I bought mine from Techinthebasket.
They have;
Oneplus 6 A6000 6GB Ram 64GB - £348
Oneplus 6 A6000 8GB Ram 128GB - £397 (Red, White, Mirror & Midnight Black)
I'm double checking bands on gear best and tech in the basket but I'm confused. how does it work?
UK I'm
800MHz (4G)
900MHz (2G & 3G)
1800MHz (2G)
2100MHz (3G)
2600MHz (4G)

I did some digging and the cheaper version A6000 supports a few less bands (and does come with oxygenos, as you can see from some of the latest reviews on gearbest, and since the A6000 supports the band my network uses I bought yesterday one Oneplus 6 from gearbest, which is currently at 351 euros, and considering that price, its a bargain and not worth at all buying the Oneplus 6t.

Couldn't agree more. I just got my op6 a few weeks back and it's amazing. Maybe when the 7 comes out, but I don't need the small notch
So it appears that you can't get the regular One Plus 7 in the US, but I would assume you could still order from One Plus & use it on T-Mobile correct? As long as the bands are there, it should be a global phone right? Don't really find that my wife needs the 7 Pro, so that's what I was considering.

It should work.
You'll likely have to pay an import premium and you won't have a warranty on it. By the time you do that, your price may be close to the Pro anyway.
The 6T is getting a modest price cut. $30 - big whoop.
Some things to consider.

Do you think it would be an import premium if it comes directly from their site? I bought my 6T from them directly, but at the same time, the 6T was something you could also get here at T-mobile. Unfortunately they'll only have the pro.
If however there was an import fee & they won't ship it to the US & I have to go 3rd party, then yeah, you could be right about being close to the Pro. I came close to the Xiaomi Mi 9 for my wife, but held off to see what the 7 brought. And sadly they didn't make it a US release like they've done with everything else. At least my 5T & 6T were both bought from them.
Seems like... Oh, we aren't going to release it in the US because it's geared towards places who can't dish out the 7 Pro price. Almost like your being forced to get the Pro. This could go against them & sway people wanting the 7 vs Pro just going with a different manufacturer.
I just found it odd when I heard that since my plan was the 7 for the wife. All I was waiting on was full specs, release date & price.

Do you think it would be an import premium if it comes directly from their site? I bought my 6T from them directly, but at the same time, the 6T was something you could also get here at T-mobile. Unfortunately they'll only have the pro.

The OnePlus website for the US is not even showing the OP7 ("non-Pro"), basically like it doesn't even exist. Just the 7 Pro and the 6T. I get the feeling if you want a 7, you'll need to get it from a 3rd party vendor.

If there's a minimal mark-up I could handle it. If it reaches the 7 pro price, I'd pass. I've asked this question in the AMA thread for today hoping for an answer as are others. We'll see.

If you're wondering what the answer is to the burning question...
"At OnePlus, we've consistently delivered the best smartphone technology because we are committed to providing premium products and experiences for consumers. As OnePlus continues to grow, the company will naturally need to adapt and expand its product portfolio. The OnePlus 7 Pro is an ultra-premium flagship device that is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of US users. As a breakthrough device with capabilities that match or exceed what is currently available on the US market, and an industry-leading display that sets a new standard for smoothness, the OnePlus 7 Pro offers the best possible smartphone experience for consumers. We will continue to sell the OnePlus 6T alongside the OnePlus 7 Pro for users looking for a premium flagship experience."

I wanted the 7 as well so now debating if I should go for the 7Pro or stick out with the 5T.

What I find odd is they assume "everyone" wants the premium device. Obviously not the case. Why limit what you sell? It's not like it's not already physically available. Sell your higher end SKU to the hardcore users and your mid tier to your non. Do you think 90% of the people looking at a phone cares about HDR 10+? My wife sure doesn't.
Why is it Google, Samsung, Apple, etc give us options for what fits what we want but OP can't? Buy giving those options, you grab more customers.
It just boggles me over their reasoning. I'd like to see the stats that says everyone in the US wants a premium device. We've already seen evidence on multiple forums that not everyone does.
I like my 6T, but for the wife, I won't be going 7 Pro.

So I went through the spec sheet, & importing it isn't even an option because they've omitted band 66 & 71 on the phone.
T-mobile bands: 2,4,66,5,12,71
6T: contains all of those as does the 7 pro.
7: 2,4,5,12.
Guess they made it known they didn't even want people importing it by omitting those.
I did read once where someone said all phones with that hardware has those bands, but they aren't enabled. Not sure about that, but yeah.

So I guess the question is, even though T-mobile isn't listed as a carrier, would it still work since it supports all of those bands?

I've been considering ordering a OP7 from aliexpress. It is actually cheaper (like $525 US). They flash it to the Global Rom which is supposed to have bands 66 & 71. It is supposed to support OTA updates as well. Plus, you can get that Red one which is only available in China. There is no warranty, but I really hate the curved edges on the Pro, and it is just so big. The 7 seems to have fixed everyhing which was wrong with the 6t.

I didn't think the 7 was supposed to be released until June? Did you see it already, or is it a coming soon deal?
Also, interested to see what this Xiaomi K20 is all about in the next few days.

What's weird, is that a bunch of sellers show the specs without band 71. Stops at 66.
X Man shows band 71 on their posting.
I guess the website is the most important info, since OnePlus shows band 71.

FWIW. The specs on that webpage are different today June 4, 2019.
The specs now do not state 66 or 71
Code:
Bands CHINA & INDIA & EU
FDD LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/ 19/20/26/28/29/32
TDD LTE: Band 34/38/39/40/41

UMTS(WCDMA): Band 1/2/4 / 5 / 8 / 9 / 19
CDMA: BC0/ BC1
GSM: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
Oneplus 7 Pro's LTE bands are "B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,32,66".
Is it just a small problem?
edit :
AT&T : 2/4/5/12/17/29/66
T-Mobile : 2/4/5/12/46/48/66/71
Verizon Wireless : 2/4/5/13/46/48/66
Band 71 is present, but just contradicts with their other info where band 71 isn't present.
FDD LTE: B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,32,66
TDD-LTE: B34,38,39,40,41
TDS: B34,39
UMTS: B1,2,4,5,8,9,19
CDMA: BC0,BC1
GSM: B2,3,5,8
I checked https://www.cellmapper.net/ to check on the bands, but seems like it shouldnt be that big of an impact for me since it's not that many in my area. Or am I wrong ? I think it'll impact rural areas more with less towers.

courtesy of TmoNews...
https://www.tmonews.com/2019/05/oneplus-7-pro-official-tmobile-specs-price-images/
T-Mobile will sell the OnePlus 7 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage for $0 down and $29.17 per month for 24 months on an Equipment Installment Plan. T-Mobile will also offer the OnePlus 7 Pro through JUMP! On Demand, with JOD pricing set at $0 down and $31 per month for an 18-month lease. T-Mo will sell the OnePlus 7 Pro in Nebula Blue and Mirror Grey.
As you’d expect from a brand new flagship phone on T-Mobile, the OnePlus 7 Pro supports all of T-Mo’s LTE network features. That includes 600MHz (LTE band 71) as well as 4×4 MIMO, 256 QAM, License Assisted Access (LAA), and carrier aggregation.

Just talked to OP Rep, they said they dont have information on it. I doubt they know.
But imma drop by the pop up store today maybe. I'll ask, but I doubt they know too.
I wish someone would confirm it. I really don't want to buy a phone from tmobile.
pop up didn't have unlocked. was just a regular t mobile store. everyone didnt know much info about the phone. sorry.

I don't want the T-Mo version, the unlocked one on their site has all of the bands including 66, and 71.
My main question I need answered before buying this phone is whether RCS will work on the unlocked one. Otherwise I'll wait and pay more for the Note 10
My Telco uses band 3 and 40. I purchased my op 7p from the US site, as per the site, the American op store version has band 3 but not 40. Do u guys know if this can be changed via software or is it the hardware?
The version in India has both band 3 and 40.

I am interested in B40 which seems very important for India.
