My latest version of Swype (Ver. 3.26.92D.38303.t0.8611.ENSP) covers the text entry field so I can't see the text that I am inputting.
I didn't have this problem when using the previous version of Swype on Android 4.0. However after installing Android 4.0.4 and updating to the latest version of Swype that is supposed to have ICS support, I now experience this issue.
Does anybody know how to fix this? Is it an ICS issue (i've noticed it with other keyboards as well but it's worse with Swype) This has rendered the GoSMS popup window useless and also happens in the browser when inputting text as well as other apps. Very annoying.
I've been using SlideIt as a temporary measure but it sucks and the issue still happens with SlideIt as well but when I close the keyboard and reopen it the text field will move upwards and with Swype this doesn't work.
Did you type in portrait mode or landscape mode. for me portrait mode works ok. but I suffer the same problem in landscape mode.
Sry about my English. hope you understand.

This is so annoying i've stopped using swype. no replies, does this not effect anybody else???

I have the same issue. And I don't know how to solve it. Except without gestures.
I have full screen gestures enabled and no issues with swiftkey(beta). On what rom are you? I tested it with chinese stable and xiaomi.eu

Doesn't matter if I push the letters or just swipe, no lag at all. Maybe you can test the swiftkey beta app or disable spellchecking in input settings

this not solved all the problem but minimize it for me
I launch de app of swiftkey, after this i enter in multitask screen. Keep pushing the app of swiftkey and apears a lock (if the lock is close, the app allways in background)
After this the lag reduces a lot

I'm using this phone since three days ago and I immediately noticed this issue, and it is specially annoying when I try to use swipe writing. I suspected that occurs because the system doesn't know if your are trying to write using the keys located at the edges of the screen like q, p, etc. or just using gestures. In consequence I tried to adapt the keyboard using the one hand feature (Google keyboard) and putting it in the center of the screen and it worked, the lag disappear. I'm attaching a screenshot because my English sucks. I hope you can see this way what I did.
I tried turning on 'Show virtual keyboard' in Settings > Languages & input > Physical keyboard, and it seems much better for me now.

I have no idea what this does, nor why it solves the problem. But it's all good for me now. Thanks!
I have the same problem. It seems that there are many of us who have this problem. I hope that in MIUI 10 they solve it ... I can not find any solution, just turn off Fullscreen mode in my RM5

I have already reported to MIUI team but while they do something about it, i've installed Edge Gestures to replace full screen mode, to hide navbar i've installed Navigation Gestures and finally AutoNotification for hidding apps in background notification. I have lost gestures animations but works perfect and the only issue it's volume bar in landscape like the image attached.
This is a nightmare and makes the device horrible to use.
I reported it to MIUI team weeks ago. The best solution for now is disable vibration on keypress within Google Keyboard, which makes it way less noticeable.
I'm using miui 10 weekly on eu roms, the problem is still there...
I'm on xiaomi.eu 8.8.3 and it seems like it has been solved through software update. I no longer have the issue testing in sketch app, or using any keyboard with full screen gestures.
Hello guys,
I have a problem with Samsung DEX. After plug in my phone to DEX I use Czech language and I need special czech keys when I am typing on my physical keyboard. Problem is that when I am typing on my physical keyboard, the keyboard has still English layout even if I have changed it to Czech layout in settings. I tried the other languages (german, swiss german and etc.) and keyboard has a still only English layout. Could you help me please? I cannot find out how to solve this problem (I had this problem with One UI 3.0 and I have upgraded my phone to One UI 3.1 today and problem is still there).
Thank you in advance, Jiri.

Hi, I`ve been loosing sleep over the same issue for the last two days. The external keyboard with DeX wouldn`t type in Bulgarian regardless of the little pop-up tile that indicates language switch.
PROBLEM SOLVED!
It turns out the culprit here is Desktop Hub accessibility settings. Turned them OFF in Settings --> Accessibility --> Installed Services and everything is back to normal!
Hope it works out for you as well.

You are god man! I have there "Control Center" which I have downloaded from Galaxy store (it is for control your phone by swiping from side of phone screen (turn on/of wifi, NFC, etc...)). I turn it off in Accessibility => Installed Services and my czech layout on physical keyboard working well from this time! Thank you so much, I have searching almost 3 weeks on internet for solution and nobody has helped me. Thank you!
Hello guys,
I have tried with default Samsung Keyboard and tried with Swiftkey and noticed that when I am typing certain words like "Allergy" or "Where" for example, it suddenly interrupts the swipe pattern and changes the word to "All" with space next to it as if there was an error registering the touch gesture as I touch each key on the keyboard. It seems that this happens a lot near the letter G.
This does not happen on my S21 ultra. Tried without screen protector, and same issue so its not the protector. Tried *#0*# and did a display Touch test and it registered everything perfectly. Tried clearing cache/data no luck. Tried disabling/enabling auto correct and no luck either.
Does anyone have this erratic typing issue?
Hello mate, yes I also have this issue, on any of the keyboard, I tried Samsung stock keyboard, gboard, microsoft keyboard, some other mates are also experiencing this issue in Yandex keyboard.
maybe you can use google translate, but this is russian forum https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1029360&st=4120#entry114129735 here is the example
also another mate already reported the problem to the samsung members and they acknowledged it

Samsung SM-S908B Galaxy S22 Ultra - Обсуждение, Смартфон, 6.8

It is a feature, the new text prediction is by GRAMMARLY, but like in this forum, doesn't work well and the cursor goes crazy.
Solution, TURN OFF PREDICTIVE TEXT.
nah, disabling predictive text does not help.
Exactly same issue on S22U exynos! Very, very annoying.
Any other better alternative keyboard ?
the only solution here is not to use swipe feature of the keyboard, as this issue appears on ANY keyboards (personally tested).
I would suggest Fleksy, as it is designed to type manually, and wait for a fix of this problem.
personally, it is one of the serious reasons to sell this phone (sadly)...
There's a thread in the Samsung members app about the same exact thing, it started with the April update. I haven't gotten the May update yet, I'm hoping it will fix it but I don't have that high of hopes. It's definitely a software bug though.
Did anyone try to rollback to a March firmware?
Also, if someone received May update, could someone confirm that issue is resolved?
Thanks
it is NOT fixed, yet...
UP.
Seems like swype is fixed with the newest update S908BXXU2AVEH.
I'm currently on it and checking that everything is good.
Can someone confirm that?
I've experienced the same wonkiness described by the OP with SwiftKey on both my S22 Ultra and Tab S7. In fact it happened while typing this on my Tab S7. I'm not able to consistently replicate it though. Or at least not able to purposely replicate it.
Okay so I've been experiencing this same issue and this is everything I've found so far.
The issue is when swype typing on any keyboard. I enabled touch pointer in dev options to see exactly what was going on the screen and what's happening is for example when swype typing the word "everything" the screen recognizes when touch the E and begin moving towards the V but it loses the touch and detects it again so it thinks you finished typing a word and started again therefore the word EV is put on the screen and a new word is started. This is very aggravating. I've noticed that it happens a lot with words starting with E, A, W, S and if you notice those are all in the same area of the keyboard.
What I've done to fix it. I use film screen protectors instead of glass. I thought the SP were too thick and it was messing with the touch sensitivity but i tried several and nothing changed. I tried various settings in the phone especially the touch sensitivity option for screen protectors and turning it on definitely helped but the issue remained.
What i did was take the screen protector off completely, leave the touch sensitivity option enabled in settings and the issue is completely gone. So the issue lies somewhere with the sensitivity of the screen and screen protectors limiting the touch sensitivity.
This is all I've got so maybe this info will help anyone having the same issues. Hopefully Samsung will adjust the sensitivity in upcoming updates.
No worries, mates
This issue was fixed with June update
I have already installed it, running for 3 days, everything is working great, no problems with swipe typing
S908BXXU2AVEH
I can confirm also that the issue was fixed in the latest update.
