My sleep policy for wifi is set to never which means after certain period is set to off. When screen is of it should me on immediately. Unfortunately it is not, it takes ten or more seconds to switch wifi back (or not at all!)
Network setting reset did not help. Any thoughts? Is it worth to change that policy? On Pixel 2xl it's not even there [emoji16]

My TF300T takes about a minute to boot, from 'off' to a usable state. Why does it take so long?
I remember wondering the same thing about PCs. Turns out the PC is still based on very old legacy technology, plus the speed of mechanical disks, it sort of justifies it.
But why a technology (tablets) and an OS (Android) that is well within the 2000s, have similar limitations?
Android should be not turned off, it is different designed as PC system, it index all apps when boot, if you have many apps it will take more time to boot.

I completely understand that. I don't turn off the table often. But my question still stands. Why is it so slow on modern software/hardware? How many MB/GB does it have to go through to initialize the system? To justify 1 minute +?
Purchased my LG Flex 2 H950 2 months ago to upgrade from the Flex 1 and have run into various overheating issues and my display seems to crash with just one line on the screen then decides to come back on its own after 3-5 minutes, when the display does crash the phone still seems to work perfectly though, will receive calls play music, sometimes even 1/4 of the screen comes back first before the whole screen comes back, was wondering if else has run into this issue and if it might be software related? I am suspecting bad video card however recently using this forum I found the Ghost Pepper governor and the EX Kernel Manager program which I have used to underclock the phone during hot periods and so far..no crashes yet, called LG though and didn't get much help there as I don't have the receipt for the phone
I have experienced this. Mainly on hot days in the car
Just overheating I guess, it happened less than five times and doesn't seem to do it anymore.
It happend few times on my h955. I'll probably will send it to LG for repair.

ah I wonder how much they would charge? I got mine off ebay so I'm pretty stuck for a warranty now.....but positive news, still using EX Kernel Manager set governor to on demand now keeping all 8 cores on w/max 1500mhz for the 4 big cores and still no crashes, underclocking might not be the real fix but if you don't have a warranty might make our phones last a few years still without sending it in
Mine have warranty so no problem for me. Ill send it becose i want to sell it soon. Btw LG don't often do amoled screens, and we can see it clearly here. Bad screen backlight, stripes on gray and now this kinda crashes.

Sony need to update xz very fast.
MAybe nougat android 7 this month
I agree on the speakers being way to low. I'm not sure how that aspect of it passed testing
I'm in the UK and everything is fine with my platinum XZ.
I might buy one in each colour this phone is so good and it's great for audiophiles.
Low speakers sound is in dual sim version , it should be solved in next update

I do hope your right as I like this phone. I came from a s7 edge and I loved that phone but dam that screen is hard to protect. So I opted for this which is 130 cheaper which similar specs and I'm happy so far just those speakers making me feel like a bit of regret so I hope they fix them
Ring ,alarm and phone hearing very are all very low.
I have just received my new Xperia XZ phone, very lovely but I am having the following issues with it:
1) The ringtone is very low, in the two days I have had, got lots of missed calls, because could not hear the call.
2) The alarm sound is also very low, what is helping is the vibration.
3) I struggle to hear the person I am speaking to on the phone, the hearing is very low.
How could I be helped here?

Some people say there are a bad batch of xz out there that have this issue. Not sure if that's true or not but apparently some people replaced theirs with a new one and the sound was just fine.
Has anyone here experienced any video stutter when recording? I noticed this in my XZ when recording 30fps Intelligent Active steadyshot. I'm not on Stamina Mode so I don't know what's causing it. I'm on the latest version of Nougat btw.
Sent from my F8331 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Yes I also have the same problem. Is there any fix for this problem as it is very annoying.
I have this also on latest Nougat :/
Same here both USA and Japan version
Same here. Anyone tried factory reset?
Is it like severe stuttering or like a lower framerate viewfinder than it should be? Like it's not smooth motion? Because if it's the second one, I see it as well, but mostly when Object tracking is enabled. I usually shoot in 60 FPS so it's less noticable. That being said, while shooting, there is some stuttering in both 30 and 60 FPS, but when I watch the videos they are fine and as they should be, it's only the viewfinder that stutters sometimes a bit, I guess because of the processing. Disabling Auto scene mode might help as well.
It might be that Sony lowered viewfinder framerate to reduce cpu usage and battery drain while recording.
Do your videos also come out stuttering or are they fine when watching them?
Same is in recording 4K, there is some stutter while recording, but the video comes out smooth and fine.
This issue seems similar to stuttering issue when watching some movie rips, for some reason some lower resolution lower bitrate movies stutter, but watching FullHD and 4K works fine without stuttering, but while doing that all cpu cores throttles up and get utilized properly. In the movies where it stutters, only two cores get bumped up clock speed, while the other two mostly stay at lowest clocks. It could be a codec issue, where it doesn't use all he cores as it should when it should. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/help/platinum-xz-rev-2-0-video-playback-t3576686
In general, lately, Sony has been heavily optimizing their OS in favor of preserving battery life, but in some cases they went too restrictive and conservative to a point that the chipset isn't working at its full power when you need it to.
I noticed it too, first few seconds of taking a video then it becomes smooth again...

Right. Upon further testing, I noticed it happens more ofthen in lower light conditions or when switching from low light to good light when it changes exposure and brigthness. It's mostly OK when in good light.
So it seems like the processing of the video recording, the auto adjustments of the scene and object tracking is causing some framerate drops in the viewfinder, but it really doesn't concern me as long as the final video turns out smooth as it should.

Weirdly my videos turn out laggy, i took 2 videos last week on the beach (excellent light), both of them lag when played back just the first few seconds exactly as it showed on the viewfinder while taking them.
I have this as well on my stock XZ Dual (F8332)
Hoping to find a fix
on my current firmware (41.2.A.7.65) the issue is less prominent. But I still get a little stuttering at the beginning of video's

This is not a constructive comment and is not at all helpful.
There is a bug in the current Nougat build causing stutter/lag when recording video. I am experiencing it on my Xperia X Performance as well.
Has anybody done a factory reset to see if the problem goes away?
Clearing the cache did not help
It's not. Unfortunately.

Upgrade to 41.2.A.7.53 solved it for me.
I am on 41.2.A.7.53 and I still have the issue (in fact I started noticing it only since the last update)
F8332 - CDA:1305-2218 Customized HK
Stock software, no root, no BL unlock, etc.
I have the phone for more than 6 months and I had no problem with videos until recently when I went to vacation and my vacation video got ruined with lag
I'm on the latest update and still experiencing this stuttering.
Turning off steady shot did seem to help
If video is on SD try to record on phone memory. Recordind on SD is slower than on phone memory.
Does anybody still suffer from this? It seems to hit only a limited amount of users
(after several updates I still have this issue)
Hey guys,
when I change to front camera and rotate the phone the camera freezes all the time in whatsapp..
Tried cleaning cache and data, which solved the issue for like 2 turns until it appeared again lol.
has anyone else noticed this issue?
and the app is using rear camera in 2x zoom it's also a bug...
