Hello, I want to precise that my device was working correctly but for unknown reason it restart and went in bootloop. It is a stock KitKat version with root enabled.
Download mode is available and also recovery (cwm). But in recovery mode some operation make cwm crashing and device go again in bootloop. For instance : factory reset, cache reset, exploring sdcard for zip installation etc.
So I tried to install from scratch an old rom that I already used with an old Odin version (3.09) I have and I already use successfully with this device.
But then I have a nand write fail error :

I suspect an hardware problem as the device was working correctly and goes to bootloop without me doing anything special ...
But maybe it could be a SW error that crash the flash partition system and it could be restored, I don't know. Is there anything to do to be sure it is an hw problem ?

See search multiple Nand write posts,
Could well be damaged PIT .
Thanks for your answer. To be honest I found a post about nand write fail debug no dedicated to my device and as the process is quite complex (cygwin usage etc.) before doing it I wanted to be sure that it was not a physical failure. Maybe there are some diagnostucs I could run on my device to test it ..

For instance I'm not an Odin expert but is Odin able to repartion the nand flash using the pit ? Maybe I only have to activate the repartionning in Odin when writing the nand flash ? But then I will have to provide the original pit file ? Except if this file is already provided in .rar files of rom ?

The only stuff that is "different" with ODIN is flashing the hidden.img.tar file (that I get after extracting .tar file of the rom + rename hidden.img file in hidden.img.rar file, following method is this link : https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS6/comments/35zshn/howto_fix_a_failed_odin_flash_softbrick_hiddenimg/) :

=> this time ODIN displays a blue reset but don't resolve my problem, there is still a soft brick (means only recovery + download mode is working)
I don't know at all what is hiden.img file, maybe it works because it is'nt writting in NAND flash ? so maybe NAND flash is really dead ? What is strange is that I can't upload new recovery or even my current recovery whereas my recovery works....
any suggestion appreciated. isn't there some ADB command to test the NAND flash direclty to be sure it is a HW failure or not ?

Have you tried flashing the PIT file through Odin ??
Yes I tried in post #5 but without success... I tried different one found in different forum and it fails. Do you know if there is a 'no doubt' test to test if flash is dead ?

Hi guys,
I have the same problem in my N8000. Stock ROM, no root, no recovery. Have access to "download mode" only.
I have tried to install recovery , a new rom, a old stock, a new PIT......... no success at all
NAND WRITE FAIL.
Does it mean that my N8000 is over?
Is there nothing new I can try?
You can search identical posts before binning it .
Me too
My N8010 is dead today.
Suddenly, it rebooted, then the boot was stuck forever.
No recovery available, only download mode reachable.
I was trying to flash unsuccessfully :
with linux/heimdall >>
ERROR: Failed to unpack received packet.
ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!
ERROR: RECOVERY upload failed!
with windows/odin :
NAND WRITE FAIL.
I think the memory flash is dead.
EDIT:
It seems it's a known issue. See here :

I have tried new USB cables, ports, restarts -- But Odin wont flash the system... It got far enough to flash the recovery away so I don't have CWM installed anymore... This is really starting to piss me off... Please help
I have searched everywhere but all i can find is people telling me to change my USB cable... I wish it was that simple.

Howdy everyone! Im a new member, but Ive been using the site since the HTC G1 from T-Mobile
I have a G900P Galaxy S5 for Boost Mobile. (It was on 5.0 if that changes anything) I bought the phone, played with it for a few days before I would decide to activate it. I hit the reactivation lock thinking it would be safe if anything were to happen to it, then when I activated it and it updated the Profile, PRL and whatever else for activation, it got pissed off and said
"custom binary blocked by reactivation lock"
Ive tried using Odin to bring me back, but I cannot load the NKD lollipop bootloader, phone says:

Odin says:

Now the phone says
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please Select recovery mode in Kies and try again
Do I start to cry over my new paperweight here?
I hope Im not totally dead in the water here. What should I do? and what is possible at this point?
Kies will restore it to latest firmware or you can odin the latest. The phone has newer firmware on it than you where trying to flash it looks like. Cant downgrade to that one.
Ok, if I download a newer firmware, will I need the bootloader installed? Or do I need a newer bootloader too?
If you download the stock firmware it will have the bootloader and all in it. Thats one of the reasons as to why the file is so big. You can download the firmware from your cell provider or you can download one from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ also, you can find rooted and stock roms here at XDA. Just make sure you download the rom that is for your phone!
got it, Ok cool! Im using Rwilco12's site. Im going to try this again, wish me luck!
IT WORKED!

Could you possibly list the steps you used to recover your phone ? i'm having the exact same issue and am trying to restore my phone. I just cannot seem to locate a working download. Also i want to make sure I do everything correctly.
Download Odin
Download your rom from RWilco12
http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/
Put your phone into download mode
use Odin (give it time)
done
Thank you! Got it working again. You just saved me getting a whole new phone.

Hello all,
My tablet note 10.1 N8000 (3G, Wi-Fi, 16 GB) suddenly got stuck in bootloop. I was not trying to flash anything when it did so, nor did I flashed anything recently before the bootloop (although it seemed to constantly freeze before the bootloop when trying to switch between my two whatsapp accounts that I have using Titanium Backup which allows creating more than one account in all apps).
I did however root the device when I bought it in 2012 and it was the only time I did so, and I still have USB debugging mode on.
The device would bootloop in the first Samsung logo most of the time, but on rare occasions it would move to the second animated logo and get stuck repeating the animation forever.
I can only access Odin Download mode, but cannot access recovery mode (when I try to do so, it shows the first Samsung logo, then attempts to go into recovery but only shows a lit black screen then reboots).
Here are the steps I did (might help some of you, but unfortunately didn't help me):
1) I tried flashing a custom recovery (CMW, Philz touch, TWRP, and stock recovery) through Odin (Odin 3 version v3.10.6):
- Put the .tar file in AP slot then put device in download mode (power key + volume down), then plug device into my computer.
- Check only auto restart and F. time reset.
- Here's what it says after flashing:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1005)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..

2) I tried flashing stock rom through Odin:
(Roms I tried: N8000XXCMF1, N8000XXUDOF1, N8000XWALG7, N8000XXCMA2, N8000XXUDOF1)
- I put the .tar.md5 file in AP and follow same steps above, here's what Odin says after flashing:
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1005)..

3) I tried following the post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1/general/n8000-stuck-samsung-logo-t3212923
I followed everything until the part where I have to access recovery (because I could not access recovery still to flash rom from recovery). Here's what it says in Odin after it's done:
Code:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> I9300_Repair_efs.tar.md5 is valid.

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
But again it did not work even though it always says "PASS"! And I also tried flashing stock rom after trying this method through Odin, shows success but still stuck in bootloop.
I don't know what else to try really. I will not take it to support to fix it, either I fix it myself or use it as a cutting board.
If anyone has any ideas please reply. I'm sure there are more things to try.
EDIT:
- Is there a way to clear cache without accessing recovery (since I can't access it)? Lots of people say it worked after clearing cache.
- Is Nand erase all an option? I wish someone would explain it in details instead of telling me not to do it without saying exactly why.
- Could the problem be in hardware? How can I know if so?

So you mean that it will erase everything even the Odin download mode and the Samsung logo? Why would they include this option then? I don't see any practical use of it :/

HI RHAddict,
It happened to my Note GT-N8000, if a Hardware failure. If you send to SAMSUNG service center it will cost u around US$ 200 for motherboard replacement. But i manage to find a mobile service center, the technician said it only 1 of the chip in motherboard out of service. I got my tablet fixed just US$ 50-60. Now is working as is it before.
TQ
My Samsung 8010 has just gone exactly the same way. Cannot enter recovery mode, just get a blank lit screen for a second then goes back into a reboot cycle and never gets past the Samsung logo. Did you get anywhere with fixing it, or have you given up? Was thinking of taking mine to a service centre, but probably not worth it?
Hello guys.
My Galaxy S7 had a problem once where it was stuck at the Samsung Logo when booting. I took it to a Samsung Rep and they repaired it for me because it was on the warranty period. 3 months after this repair the phone had the same issue, but as it was out of warranty already i flashed a stock rom through odin and it worked. 2 weeks later i was using the phone playing some games while listening to music and then suddenly it restarted and now it boots straight into the "Downloading... please don't turn off" Odin Screen. When i restart the phone it shows the Samsung Galaxy S7 screen real fast and then goes to the "Downloading..." screen, without even showing the "Warning A custom OS...." screen. And when on this screen it does not show the usual Odin screen info on the top left corner. If i try to restart it with the Volume Down, Power and Home sometimes it shows the usual screens for Odin (First the Warning Screen and then the Downloading with the info on the top left corner).
I tried to flash a new firmware but it does not work. I searched a lot on the internet but couldn't find anyone with the same issue, only people who are stuck on odin mode but then when they press the volume down, home and power button the phone boots normally.

Hi mate
Why is not in warranty still...should be a year
Are you using the latest Odin?

Samsung is denying the warranty because my screen has 2 cracks and they are saying that this problem was caused because of my "bad use" of the smartphone.
Yes. Using Odin 3.12.3.
I'm flashing AP, BL, CP and CSC.
Can't go into recovery. The phone goes straight to the odin screen. Can't do anything other than odin.
Already tried 3 firmwares from my csc (ZTO) and 2 from the Official Stock Rom thread here at XDA.

Hi mate
In your first post you showed that odins fails on this step
cm.bin = Cryptography Manager , the function of this is to avoid downgrades
Do you remember what was the firmware you had? if not try to flash the very latest firmware available
Also i found a very similar case in a a S6 thread , the problem seems like the recovery was missing

check it out just in case the above solution fails

Hi.
Yeah, tried it on 3 different PCs. Always the same errors :/ I'm guessing it's some hardware issue. Now i'll have to fight Samsung so they fix the phone on warranty
Hi everyone,
This morning i clicked on an app "torque pro" and my phone immediately rebooted itself and got stuck in a constant reboot loop. I couldnt get into stock recovery either. I decided that the only way to bring it back to life would be to flash the stock firmware again via odin.
I have tried for the last 2 hours using different versions of ODIN and Different stock firmwares but i end up getting a write failure everytime around 70% of the way. The log is below:

My phone is technically an ATT S8+ but i had flashed the Canadian Bloatfree firmware before. Does anyone have any suggestions how i can fix this. Smart Switch doesnt even have the option to initialize so i cant force it to flash stock back on the phone.
use a official cable(usb) maybe that will work.
Tried a couple of cables as well as the one that came in the box with the phone... same result unfortunately.

Drivers maybe
Drivers are all good. Since I am in Canada and the phone is AT&T... Samsung Canada wouldn't even check what's wrong with it.
Samsung website showed Ubreakifix in Buffalo as an authorized repair facility and I took it there... Thru weren't able to do anything to the phone either.
Just a little bump...
Samsung Canada is being ridiculous and refusing to service a USA phone
Hey you! Here is your fix
1, load into download mode (bixby volume down, power button)
2, click cancel (volume down)
3, load into download mode again
4, click continue (volume up)
5, flash, no error now! No need to flash another bootloader or etc, just every time you want to flash anything use this trick.

I have the issue to and I tried this method for a few hours and nothing changed. Flash error in Odin is still there.
I saw this guy doing it in a YouTube video. . Looked like the timing of it was very tricky . . . . Did you see the video ?
hth.
I saw a couple of videos in which the guy goes into download mode again the moment he starts Odin.. I've tried that many times but I end up getting the same error. With that being said in my case the BL anf CS files flash without any problems.
The AP file though goes 70% all the time and then stops at "__XmitData_Write" portion. I wonder if there is anyway to find out what that is.
Try if you can flash TWRP with odin.
If successful, format data and wipe everything.
After that try flashing official firmware.
