What rom would everyone recommend me to install on the GT-N8013? I just picked one up from CL for $60 in awesome condition. I would rather have that has full spen compability. Don't care for stock android on this tablet.
Read the development threads .
Number of active roms with a live download link are very small .

I have seen extreme talent on these forums. I really like a stock android phone like nexus one with no options removed. I eagerly waited for G2 to only know that its not a complete stock android phone. It has its share of tweaks.
I have not seen any company even thinking of a stock android phone.
After looking the software talent this forum has, I felt that Y don't I find get few people together and discuss the idea of assembling a phone ourselves with stock android. It may sound crazy ... but I don't see any manufacturers or google thinking of a pure android phone ..... If successful, there is a decent market for a pure android phone and there is always a scope of a starup .....
We need right mix of people .. what do you guys think of it??? Anyone interested ... let me know your comments on this idea.
I'm afraid there are some problems with that. Suppose we build a phone and intend for it to have only unlocked Android with no sponsored programs, we would then have to work with a communications network to sell it. They would be the ones to impose additions to the phone. The G2 is actually the closest you can get to selling naked android and soon enough it will take just a couple clicks to have it completely unlocked and ready to go.
What sets the G2 apart from other phones, though, is that it uses the stock android user interface. In that important sense it is naked android.
What you say is the way the current market goes ... but there is a market where people don't want to stay in contract .... It may not be widespread .... just like how nexus one worked .... Google sold around 200,000 nexus one phones .. we may not see another nexus one again. The manufacturing cost of the mobile phone is between $60 - $180 depending on the specifications. We don't need to manufacture instead we need to assemble. 5 people together - taking a $10 per phone selling 10,000 phones would give $100,000 each (plus $100,000 for customer service operations). Even a phone priced at $350 with better than a Samsung Intercept standard would be a decent sell (10,000 phones - this number is 0.00001 percent of world market). The only place we will lack is Customer Service. Best examples are the china phones which are a decent success in world market today. The sales growth of branded phone market is on a decline if you check the sales for last 3 years. The main target customers will be people looking for a good genuine stock android phone users.
I like your boldness. If I knew more about this stuff I'd be right there with you. Good luck

Hi Guys, I am planning to buy this phone, I am from Mexico and before I make the purchase I have a few questions and since I have been around with the HD2 for about a year now, I don't know anything related this one.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_skyrocket_i727-4303.php
- Is there as much development for this specific model as the vanilla S2 one?
- I saw in a sticky thread that there is a way to unlock a S2 with an app, is it possible with this model?
- Since I will be using it in Mexico (Telcel carrier, GSM) I won't receive the ICS update right? but I guess I will be able to root it and then upgrade it following a guide in the Android development subforum?
- Does anyone tested the MHL (HDMI adapter) with this specific model or at least with the vanilla S2? How is it working so far?
- What are your thoughts overall about this phone?
Thanks guys, I know these are common questions but after reading some posts I would like some fresh ideas.

- Is there as much development for this specific model as the vanilla S2 one? The phone is relatively new and the AOSP hasn't been released yet, so it's only going to get better.
- I saw in a sticky thread that there is a way to unlock a S2 with an app, is it possible with this model? There's multiple ways to unlock it as you can see in the development thread. I used the One Click Root method on my phone and it worked perfectly
- Since I will be using it in Mexico (Telcel carrier, GSM) I won't receive the ICS update right? but I guess I will be able to root it and then upgrade it following a guide in the Android development subforum? I don't see why you shouldn't receive the ICS update, but yeah if you don't you can install a custom version instead.
- Does anyone tested the MHL (HDMI adapter) with this specific model or at least with the vanilla S2? How is it working so far? Can't speak to this yet.
- What are your thoughts overall about this phone? Very good and will probably only get better once ICS is released and LTE is deployed more. Screen isn't the best ever (not up to Galaxy Nexus level) but definitely acceptable
Thanks guys, I know these are common questions but after reading some posts I would like some fresh ideas.

Thanks for your quick answers!
But do you recommend me to get the Skyrocket better than the vanilla SG2?
I do recommend it over the van. SG2. Better features. The screen IMO is perfect for a phone. One thing you have to consider is the better the screen the more power it's going to consume. I feel the screen was perfect for this phone. Take the LG Nitro HD for example it has an AH-IPS display. Battery only lasts 4-6 hrs max. I'm expecting to see official support for CM9 after one of the carriers drop a ICS rom for this phone (or a close sister phone from like TMobile). Once CM9 is out for this phone that's all I'll use.
I'm interested in a suggestion for a ROM to use on my S4 which would allow me to use the Mobeam technology and the Samsung Dual Shot camera.
I've been using my S4 for a month or so and almost immediately after getting it setup CM 11 on it. It's been great. Then I started discovering a few of the cooler features like the mobeam tech and the dual camera for front and back simultaneous video/photos. I've also learned on these forums that these features don't seem to be available for a variety of reasons seemingly tied to samsung signed firmware. I'm in the process of downloading a replacement firmware to go back to stock to see if I can use these things in the original firmware for the M919 (Canadian).
I really enjoy the gui on CM, and custom firmware is just more fun. Does anyone have a suggestion of a way I can have the best of both worlds?
Thanks!
a ROM is not just root device and install it, actually putting a risk to 18k device the most extreme deadliest thing which is attached to our real life, Help us to get things done Quickly, we always asked for more n more that's how we live our life. XOLO company in starting i felt they doing well to make JB to KK but after new model (Hive) feels like he forgotten that his the most expensive handset is still running just KK and XOLO secure apps not running at all, feels like they making headset and making us fool, they making model no software. if you want more features buy new mobile it's not sim which can easily changeable. i still remember when updates come along, so happy when i have Samsung S2, HTC droid 2 and after this xolo even having normal rom from company had soo issue in software a lott bugs even email to XOLO DEV. but as usual they don't reply. collecting money and waiting for more time to stuck on my Q3k and then will buy GalaxyNote7. just rooted my Q3k this week
battery Quality more increased
can force close internal apps even uninstall them
little exposed app made theme like lollipop and changed home button , recent app drawer
if someone who knows the stable and tested ROM please write here and tell me about it
I'm aware of XDA from 3yrs., so much tech geek i'm. one thing i like in ANDROID if you buying a headset make sure that it has cyanogenmod or go to website and look out which device is support, I'm not making any fuss here, just telling and sharing my pov that what i learned from google in these years those person who love to get only updates and tweak in their phone go grab a phone who supports cyanogenmod. :good:
but it's damn right that they all making PHONE only spec updated but software i doubt ,
is it good time to buy a latest smartphone or it's never good time to buy a latest smartphone
note : project ARA might help us can't predict the future but let's see
Dear all,
May old HTC M7 died a very wet death last weekend.....
I need a new device and my budget are roughly 150-200 EUR.
I could buy the old S7 of my sister for 150 EUR. The Unit is very clean and has a little warranty left.
My first question is, should i buy it or should i buy a different unit. I would prefer not to spent more than 150 EUR.
If i get it i would need to be able to install an add blocker and have a privacy guard. I really want to controll the rights of certain apps tightly.
Is this possible with a stock rom ( it seems like samsung is going to roll out a 8.0 soon?)
If not, wich custom rom would you advice me to install if i dont´want to loose any features of the phone. The camera is particularly important for me!
I used slimrom on the HTC m7 and i liked itl. The closer to stock android the better, but never at the expense of any functionality.
All the best and thanks in advance
You can't find anything better at 150e than S7. Defintely worth it and camera is great. Stock is pretty good.
Thanks for your answer! Can i still control all apps with a privacy guard ?
The superman rom is pretty much stock in look (but you can customise it how you see fit) and debloated (Choices of apps in installer) and all the functionality of the original touchwiz.(I've been using it for about 2/3 weeks now and it works great.)
It's got the original camera quality and it is very stable in my opinion.
Some other choices that fit your description:
The Galaxy Project
Ultimate nougat
Helios
These roms are all based on the original touchwiz by samsung so will have the features that you want.
