Weird download from XperiFirm - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Hi
Downloaded Customized NOBA 41.3.A.2.99 through FlashTool/XperiFirm yesterday. Download and FTF-creation went smoothly as usual, but when I had flashed the thing to my phone it seems like it is not made for the Nordic market at all. Despite being marked with 1305-1010/Nordic Combined /Customized NOBA.
On first boot it only featured English and Spanish languages, though of course I could still select Swedish from drop-down list. Usually when installing Nordic market FTFs I get Swedish from the start due to SIM-card/network recognition or some such...
Could this be a miss-labeled US release or what could have happened here?
After set-up phone seems to be working as expected so I'm sticking with it for the time being in any case. I'm just a bit curious....

Kaiser problems with default language

This might be something that jockyw2001 understands. I have a Kaiser that was originally traditional chinese. I updated it to the latest WM6.1 WWE English ROM, but I'm finding some strange behavior.
For example, I want to install CEStar Chinese Input and Display. The problem I ran into is an error message on install that says CEStar is already installed and that I should remove it before re-installing it. While I need to use mainly english, I still get Chinese email, SMS and even use Papago in traditional chinese.
Not sure what is going on here. I definitely cannot display Chinese characters (they all show up as blocks on my phone) but I can't instlal CEStar either. If someone kneows what is going on, please let me know.

hang n just want to share an opinion
hi mikelim i have bought a kaiser that was originally a simplified chinese n ive changed it to english version n it seem have no problem at all but when i have istall the CEStar Chinese Input and Display it sometimes hang n i must soft reset it n not just that sometimes using keyboard it have a lag (freeze for 2 or 3 second) but maybe you have to try to install a ROM RUU_Kaiser_HK_WWE_1.82.721.1_radio_sign_22.51.88.13_1.27.15.32R2_Ship that work fine on me but still the CEstar won't work very smooth ...

Slide to unlock?

So I usually keep my phone locked because its usually in my pocket. I frequently get text messages and it's kind of a pain to unlock it and relock it each time I get a message. Is there any way for my phone to unlock the keys when I slide it open, and then relock when I slide it closed?
Thanks.

I tried this program too
Potentially it's a nice app, but... Some Remarks:
- It's language dependent. This didn't work on my Dutch s710 ROM, but does work on the English and Polish ROM. Version 1.04i also supports German and French languages.
- Sadly the latest version referred to in that topic, version 1.04i, is no longer available on the site where it was linked. I also googled, but no luck. The other linked version 1.02i is still available trough the link but you have to register on that Polish site (I managed, though my Polish is not that good). And I suspect the guy that wrote it is no longer active at this forum.
Question: did anybody download the 1.04i version and can he/she make it available for download again somewhere?
- The most important problem: it's demo, and therefore it only unlocks the keyboard one time per application run. After one unlock AC Unslide 1.02 closes itself. The funny thing is there is no full (pay) version available that I know of...
Question: Is there any way around this, for example by some auto-restart trick/tool?

Yes. You can use mortscript. As I don't have the app, neither the htc, cannot test anything, but it would be something like this (don't blame me if it's wrong, just following examples):
#RestartAutolock.mscr - Restart the application when it finishes.
result= ProcExists ( proccess name for the autolock application )
if (result < 1 )
{
RunWait( application_filename.exe )
}
Make it repeat each x seconds/minutes/whatever and you're done
If you're curious...
Mortscript
EDIT2: Attached 1.02i version cab (you didn't need to register on the polish site )
That's a nice solution. Thanks!
I just reinstalled the program and found out there is another problem that makes the restart idea impossible... unless you have a Polish ROM, that is.
The app defaults to the Polish language, so when you have an English ROM, everytime you start it you have to press the left softkey and choose the English language (option 2). I tried starting the program with parameters like 2, -2, E but unsurprisingly this did not work.
Too bad... it's a nice tweak.
can someone make it simple?

do not use Q9 Chinese input method

I am a Q9 fan. Q9 is my favorite input method for Chinese, developed in HK. I have been using it since my Palm PDA days, upgrading from version to version. Never have had any trouble.
The latest Q9 version is said to work on WM6.5. After installing on HD2, things look fine, except that the "new line" and "backspace" keys give a long string of gibberish. And not just from Q9. These two keys from any input method (eg including Swype) give the same results. So I unistall Q9. Then HTC Sense went crazy. Several input methods (including the built-in Touch) are lost. Many Sense screens mysteriously became WM6 screens. In general, things aren't operational even after power off reboots.
So I did a complete restore and report the case to www.q9tech.com
But until they figure out what happened, don't try it with your Leo.
Just installed a new version of PPC 6.5 (posted on Apr-2010) and everything goes fine. You may try the new one on your HD2

Do you have swype? last time I was testing with them, I found that if Swype is not installed, Q9 works fine, but if Swype is, then it went into problems.
If you want traditional Chinese input for HKG or Taiwan, you can simply just flash your HD2 with the Chinese official rom. I didn't want to go though all those trouble finding a program to write Chinese, so I just flash my phone with official Taiwan HD2 rom. The down side of this is that you cannot use swype with the chinese rom.

UK language on US version

Guys, looking for some assistance on the correct wifi/US firmware. Currently KOT49H.P900UEU1ANAE on my tablet.
I have rooted with CF autoroot, and then I noticed I lost my keyboard symbols, and screen mirroring. Tablet has been great even so, as I put exposed/wanam, then installed the "alternate keyboard module" which gave me the symbols back. Being there is no work around for the screen mirroring, I decided to odin stock firmware, which I had downloaded from sammobile. I used the "unknown" for country, as US is not listed. So, as I was using the stock ROM, all my stuff stayed through Odin. Cool. No keyboard symbols, but it did bring back screen mirroring.
While in settings/language, the words with "z", are all spelled with "s".(recognised vs recognized, colours vs colors) Huh, am I running a UK version? Bought in Connecticut. When I try to set up the languages, there is no option for setting to either. I know from early posts, I saw that both the language setting had to be on English US for the symbols to show. I cant even get that to happen. Also, that posters words were spelled with a z, not s like mine.
I did a factory reset through the stock recovery, thinking I could reset the language option during setup. It only listed English, no US or UK. So I am at a crossroads. Kies3 doesnt seem to support this tab yet. Can anyone confirm a wifi US version build #? Also, does anyone have a download link to the US version other than Sammobile? thanks

Gboard problems

Hello, I have installed gboard and everything was fine until I realized that deleting a word sometimes leaves last letter and that last letter can't be deleted. It's this case in Samsung internet and chrome. I even encounter with it here in this typing box. I think it has something to do with autocorrect?
I am actually having the exact same problem and haven't found a solution. Is this a known problem? Have you found anything online that I missed?
ME too
I use Gboard on S7 and Nexus7 all the time and never had problems with deleting letters. In Gboard settings for Text correction I only enabled Show suggestions, Next-wordsuggestions, Auot capitalization and Multilingual typing. May be You can try out what setting is responsible for Your issue.
Hi! My problem is different, but suits for this subject.
Last week I bought Galaxy S7 Exynos (Nougat) and installed Gboard. Unfortunately, predictive words doesn't show, despite enabling this functionality in Gboard settings. To be more precised, bar where words should appear is visible, but there are no predictive words on it. I googled about this issue and tried several solutions, including clearing cache, reinstalling Gboard, installing previous version - still no luck. I have up-to-date stock ROM. The only way to show predictive words is to add secondary language, i.e. English - but that's not best workaround, because I'd like to use Polish as my default language.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Hm, I have GBoard on my S7 Exynos since 2016 with latest official firmware and no issues. I have German as primary and English (US) as secondary and I get suggestions for both, depending on my selection.
May be, we can compare the settings on our devices.
@mausbock
Sure, why not. Attached screenshots are in Polish, but I believe all settings are in the same order.
Ok, I compared the settings. Beside the Emojis that I don't use the only difference is that I have two languages set up. I dropped the second for testing and auto suggestion is still working.
Hm, strange, but I think setting up a second language but do not use it, will be the best solution for now. May be, a factory reset will help on Your issue, but I would definitely not recommend this.
May be, English as second language is an option to post on XDA forums. [emoji6]
Sorry, I don't have any idea, why it is not working with one language on Your device.
Well, I tried addidng second language before. The only difference is that sugestion bar shows predctions in English - even if I turn them off.
Ok, if I understand that right, only the polish suggestions are missing? That's really strange.
Yep, that's true.
Hm, I added polish to my keyboard for testing and I get polish suggestions...
What build do you use?
Firmware is G930FDBT1DQJ1, the latest official german version without provider branding,
GBoard version is 6.9.8.183626756.
Well, same firmware (polish version to be precise) and Gboard build. I'm out of ideas.
