Cannot help if you refuse to post information .
Help me
Www. Samsungmobile. Com FW : Download the firmware for the GALAXY Note 10.1 GT-N8010 with product code XXV from Vietnam. This firmware has version number PDA N8010XXUDNG1 and CSC N8010OLBDNG1. The operating system of this firmware is Android 4.4.2, with build date Tue, 01 Jul 2014 12:01:04 +0000. Security patch date is N/A, with changelist 2098840. Thank you
At what point does Odin fail ??
As you have used search and failed to find an answer to this common question , i suggest a service center .
I believe I had a similar problem. But the solution depends on odin and if you got to the pass or reset stage and if you had a backup recovery blah blah if you don't know all this by now, STOP, pump the brakes, scroll up and go to the main 10.1 page. Look for and READ any post with a thumb tack on it. These guys go out of their way to make this process as simple and pain free as possible. Don't be lazy, if you put in the leg work they will give you an answer you can use.
Either way, I got a 10.1 GT-N8013 or N8010 whichever you prefer. This is the 2012 model so you understand. Found it in the closest and thought ya know LineageOS is karate chopping through Android versions, I will give it a try. Some how the dog got tangled in the usb, don't ask, he eats metal and chases lasers, its a damn shame. So the flash obviously got interrupted. Tablet would load to the 10.1 screen then reboot.
Sooo odin wont recognize the tablet through adb. But It will recognize my phone. I had a 4 way usb hub plugged the phone in first the the 10.1. worked from there.
If you managed a recovery on the device, hold the power and volume tab opposite/farthest away from the power button, wait until it cycles off and back on, release the power button, while still pressing the volume for about 1 miss johnson! I know its not the text book way but it worked on mine. Recovery should pop up, if none of this works, refer to those thumb tacks in the first paragraph. Good luck, God speed and remember, You are, at all times, viamately ENCOURAGED to participate, logically and intelligently in the solution to YOUR SELF MADE EMERGENCY! ?
But really, the answer to your question is literally half of the existing archive on the enter web. Just saying..

Crap!!! I hope someone can help me. I was trying to upgrade my son's tablet using odin and a stock 4.04 rom from here :Samsung P5100 / P5110 / P5113 Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Complete Stock Firmware. The first one for the P5113.
Anyway, everything seemed to be going okay following the directions and then a failed came up in the first box in odin was red. I repeated it and it appeared to be stuck. The tablet was in download mode and the blue line had only progressed about a quarter inch. I heard the usb disconnect and reconnect sound and I tried to initiate it through odin again but the tablet wasn't responding. I stupidly on plugged the tablet and tried to power it down. Now I can't do anything. Can't get into recovery or download mode. The tablet is stuck on the screen and has this message with a picture of a tablet then a yellow triangle and a computer. Here is the message: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Kies won't recognize the tablet and when I click on emergency firmare recovery it just asks for PC code. I am stumped. I am not familiar with Samsung at all. Also, the message on the screen won't disappear. If I hold down power it won't turn off, the screen will go black and then the message will come right back so I'm afraid the battery will be dead soon and then I will be totally out of luck.
The tablet is a wifi only P5113 Tab 2 10.1.

Not your device but its should be similar. Hope it works for you.
No luck so far, is there no way to get past this screen?
Not that I know of to be honest, You need to get into download/recovery .... Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will come up with something !
How old is the tab ?
EDIT :
Will ODIN connect ... When you get that firmware error screen ?

No nothing, windows does recognize it and will install the driver. But Odin doesn't show anything happening and Kies just shows connecting. When you select emergency recovery in Kies it will stop trying to connect and bring up a dialog box asking for a recovery code. Apparently if the failure would have happened during a legit upgrade using Kies it would have generated an error code for recovery. Is there no way to repair this? Thought Samsung devices were suppose to be so easy to customize? Please help my son is pretty pissed.

Update!!!
I was able to get odin to connect to tablet and I got cwm recovery installed so it no longer boots to the failed firmware screen and I can get into recovery. My question is which firmware do I install?? The tablet is a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5113 wifi only. Is the P5113UEBLH3 firmware the correct one? It says it was provided by Cellular South which confuses me since the tablet is wifi only.
Update 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Success!!! Got into download mode and was able to load the stock 4.04 firmware and life is good again. Thanks to all that helped.
One thing. Always update your table with OTA or Kies. ODIN breaks the warrantie

I bricked my device from Odin while trying to revert from a CM10.1 nightly to stock JB. Device picked up in Odin, but would not flash... unless I reboot the device after I clicked start in Odin. Dunno why, but it loaded stock firmware on the error screen... don' ask me how...
I have experienced this. Run ODIN, then connect your devices to the computer. When ODIN detect it, unplug and then replug your device. When ODIN back detect it then flash.
Recent versions of Odin work the other way around. First plug then open. Older like <1.87, first you open the program then you plug device. Glad it got solved.

I have also hit this screen several times while playing with roms, this is a fairly common example of "softbrick". Fortunately for me, Odin had no problems connecting, and then simply flashed an oem rom. I have not been able to hard brick this thing, which is a huge surprise considering all the flashing I've done. Frankly I'm surprised it hasn't blown up like an iraqi IED yet lol!
This is a good thing! It means that Samsung built in a good failsafe. It just means you hosed your rom install all the way down to the bootloader. Easy to recover from
Glad ya learned to fix it!

Hi, my problem is identical. I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 and after a failed update with Odin the message was:Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. I try again with Odin and nothing. I used Kies, and nothing. Then i saw a reference to the md5 philz_touch_5.03.7-p5110.tar.md5 and i use it with Odin. Sucess but the message was RESET. Everithing disappeared from screen except the battery logo. The tablet is always on and with that image. The volume buttons and power don't work and it is not detected.
I'm affraid the thing is bad.
Can you help? Thank you.

Follow these steps :
1) First download Samsung firmware from GT-P3110 Firmware
2) Download the P3110 firmware based on your region or from any region but you need to wipe/cache reset in case you are going to flash from the region you are not residing.
3) Extract the firmware using winrar, winzip or 7zip,you will get a files with tar.md5 extension..
4) Open odin, please see only these options are checked. Auto-reboot and F.Reset Time,,plese uncheck all other options.
5) click on PDA and select the firmware you have got after extraction
6) Now click on start.
7) you should get a message in the left bottom panel saying "Successful".
8) your tablet will restart.
9) switch it off by pressing Power off button
10) Now immediately press Power button+volume up button for few seconds until you see samsung boot logo and leave power button but keep on pressing volume up button until you see android logo i.e recovery mode.
11) Wipe factory reset from menu and restart.
Enjoy Buddy.

but again thanks for you reply..
however do you know much about sony xperia z? i have one and was wondering if you or anyone else knows of a way to screen mirror movies from it to xbox? Aka on that device "throw" i have managed to setup a media server but wanted the throw to work or screen mirroring?
Hi,
Am totally new on this platform and looking for a solution to my rooted Samsung Tab 2. I wish to update it but keep on getting your device is modified prompt. Kindly assist.
Hello! I have a problem caused by an ODIN failure and I was wondering if I can get any help. My tablet is a GT P1000N and I updated my ROM to Lollipop 5.0. It worked perfect for around 2 weeks when suddenly when I was watching a You Tube video it start rebooting again and again so I downgrade it to stock rom and install Lollipop 5.1 by hygoandroid but I didn’t like it because my tablet was having problems with the screen and the notification bar also. And here is where my problems started. I flashed stock room via ODIN again to install Lollipop 5.0. I put everything in order to flash it and the process began but suddenly stop. I leave it like 30 min and then I realized it was stuck. So I disconnect the tab and shut it down. When I turn the download mode on again it was the cellphone exclamation sign computer and following a tutorial I recovered the tab and put it back to the normal download mode. I flashed the stock rom again and it didn’t get stuck but ODIN said FAILED. I put reset in Odin and put all the files again and press start but It didn’t make any change in my tab. I tried this like 3 times and then I try to put the tab again into recovery but the tab was in black. I tried to connect the tab to the computer and the computer recognized it (make the sound when you plug an usb) and I when I press the power button to shut down the computer makes the disconnect sound. Neither ODIN 3-V1-7 or heimdall suite 1.3.1 recognize my tab but my computer does like I explained. I hope anyone can help me. I know my tab is old but it was working great and I’m an engineering student that doesn’t have any money to buy a new one.
I wish everyone a great day. I speak Spanish, I did my best to write this in English. If something is not clear enough ask me.
Thanks!
Hi there
You'd be best served asking for help from the experts who own your device, here

Good luck
So basically I recently decided that it would be a BRILLIANT idea to upgrade my tablet to 4.4+ so I could use Pokemon GO on it, but lo and behold I have gotten to the point where I have hit a wall
As the title says, it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-i497 that used to run 4.1.4 I believe, and I no longer can get past the boot screen, I can get into Recovery mode and Download mode, and I have a recovery save on Kies but Kies refuses to connect to the tablet in it's state, it just continues to attempt to connect forever.
I guess my question would be this...
Is there an OS that is SGH-i497 compatible that I can attempt to use through ODIN, or alternatively, can someone point out a good recovery file I can use through an SD-Card so I can at least use my tablet again.
I will be monitoring for the next 8 hours before bed to answer any questions and provide any more information that I can, and thank you very very much ahead of time if you can help, I've been combing through forums for the past 3-4 hours and finally decided to make an account to make a post. Hopefully if I can get this resolved, I can help people if they have a similar problem in the future.
Bump
Really hope someone knows something, at this point I honestly just want to get it back to it's normal stock stuff, I can't get it to connect to Kies when it's in download or recovery mode so my recovery files are on there and I don't know why it can't find the recovery files in the external SD card I have.
Bump
I'm screwed huh lol

How about you start by telling us what you did to get to this point?
Have you installed a custom recovery on it?
Have you done any reading on rooting, installing roms etc?
I recently acquired one of these as well, and I have yet to find somewhere definitely that says that custom roms can be used on it.
If you find one, please reply back though!
