Witch System Apps are safe to remove? - HTC U11+ Questions & Answers

Witch System Apps and other bloat can I remove without trouble to make it more like Vanilla Android?

What bloat?

I have removed boost+ thought oreo will stop killing idle apps but in vain.

It depends on what everyone thinks is bloat. To me, it's most preinstalled apps from htc like news app, zoe, Alexa, htc twitter, and more...

Some can be uninstalled others need to be disabled.
Both are simple to do

I'm trying to find out if it's better with boost+ or not. It's really helping the phone or it's just killing battery?
What do you think? Have you uninstalled it? Do you use it to optimize the phone?

Yes I know how to do it, but I just wanted to know which system-apps I can wipe without trouble. It isn't just to delete them all in there...

I'm trying to figure this out as well. I've been using boost + since I got the phone about 2 weeks ago, but I disabled it yesterday as I was tired of apps not being saved in the background. So far I haven't noticed any difference in battery life or performance, and the problem with apps closing prematurely when the 6Gbs of memory is barely being used still persists.

That's because Oreo, not boost. So you haven't noticed any battery difference? Did you use both options? The one to adjust resolution and the other to sleep apps with no use in 3 days?

Strange overheating problem

Hey guys. A couple of minutes ago something strange happened to my phone. I just don't understand what's going on with it. I'm so disappointed. I mean... this phone costed me some money and experiencing such a thing makes me regret so much I bought my Nexus 5. It is indeed the best phone I've ever had but if this is what it takes to have a phone for such a small period of time and already have so many problems with it then... I think it's just a waste of money.
I don't know what's going on with it - It just overheated horribly while scrolling down on Facebook. Never happened this before. I was just scrolling like normal and using FB like normal and all of a sudden my phone becomes so hot - quickly I opened System Monitor and CPU temp was at 60-67ºC.
Also if I go to the Battery Tab in System Monitor the graph is pretty strange in my opinion, I mean the battery´s temperature is going up and down all over again it's like the graph of a heartbeat record or something.
Don't get me wrong, the Nexus 5 is the best phone but if this is really what it takes to own a phone for straight two months.... I mean, really?

Though it sounds like a app causing you problems there l would recommend trying a custom rom and kernel l have always found the stock ROM to run a little warm. But maybe before doing that have a look at trickster in the play store you change many more things to help keep things cooler.
The stock kernels the culprit I'd say. It's set in a narrow freq towards the top end causing it to run hot. Use Elemental X.

Perhaps it's those monitoring apps that you have installed. Just reboot the phone, should be fine.

It was indeed because of these apps. Uninstalling them seems to have solved the issue. Thank you for pointing it out! I guess I was a lil bit scared at first.

[Q] Exteme lg flex 2 lag

I have had My sprint lg g flex 2 , for 3 days now....and I've been using it non stop. I was expecting a smooth beautiful phone...with the Qualcomm 810 but I can't even listen to Spotify and surf chrome without extreme lag, or an app closing out. The lag will come and go....and its actully lagging as i write this....i have nothing open.....I think its mostly a ram problem...and I'm so confused because they say the g flex 32 GB variants have 3 gbs of ram....mine is 32gbs....but I have 2....anyway...I've attached a video for proof of the lag...I've updated everything and everysthinga stock with about 20 apps installed....this is very frustrating because I didn't even have this much lag coming from my g2 and that's 2 years older..so I would love it if someone could get me some sort of help!

Lol definitely not chrome, it's my phone.... It could be a combination of Spotify, and Skype, and Spotify would is shut off it's mostly a ram problem
It's probably memory leaks. I changed my thermal throttling and I still have that happening. It's a known issue in 5.0. We will probably have to wait until we get 5.1 to see real relief. Often I am forced to restart my phone because it wont respond because it seemingly can't load anything else into RAM.
I'm pretty sure this is a ram issue. I've never experienced that with my 3gb model. Although the lag you're experiencing is what I had with my S4 with android 5.0 and it all got fixed when I upgraded to 5.1.

Ahhhhhh okayyy ...that helps I looked it up.....and I see that memory leaks are a common glitch in 5.0x other than waiting for sprint to push out 5.1x , is there any fix?

Unfortunately it looks like the best method requires Xposed which we can't install right now. You could try an app that will kill apps that are using a lot of memory. I don't have any recommendations though since I'm not currently using one but may end up trying it out soon since I'm getting tired of restarting my phone.

Hardly, it makes it useable though... Also the thing about xsposed, how come we can't use it, I know there is a beta for a lollipop? PS..... regardless I can't root because I'm on a lease with Sprint, can't risk, loosing the warranty ?

Currently there isn't a way to install the framework without an unlocked bootloader. It's possible that could change at some point but for now it's not possible.

On my S4 with 5.0 it helped to run the app Greenify with root access. I would have it hibernate apps I didn't want to have taking resources in the background. Made a big difference for me. Even without the xposed features it helped a lot.

Having a major issue since 5.1.1 update

i have a t-mobile galaxy s6 completely stock and since the 5.1.1 update i cant listen to music or podcasts for more than roughly 10 minutes without the app closing on its own. i've tried searching for other people having this problem but i havn't found anything. maybe i was wording my search wrong. but can someone steer me in the right direction to fix the problem before i trade in this phone.
Update: it was an auto stop setting in the battery management section. I guess after the update it selected all apps to auto stop. All is good again.
try to factory reset your phone....but remember it will delete everything...so backup....

Not sure this is a memory management problem. My music has NEVER shut off by itself. Doesn't playing music use the mediaserver anyway, which is a part of the OS? Which apps are you using for music/podcasts?

It only happening on 5.1.1? It might be some apps not working property with 5.1.1 only I guess.

Buy this app and freeze all unused and unwanted apps(including system apps) and this will let you free up lots of memory. It doesn't require root and only works for Samsung phones but I'm not sure if it still works on 5.1.1(5.0.2 it works fine).
That has nothing to do with ram management ... Because the same problem was on 5.0.2 andaybe t-mobile messed something up ...

S8+ being laggy?

So my wife and I both got s8+ when they first got released. It seemed as if when we first got the phones, they were running flawlessly and fast as hell. Now a month or so later, both our phones seem laggy and sluggish. I always run device maintenance on both to keep things cleared up. Dunno what else to try. Wish we had root already so I can get rid of all this bloat and unnecessary stuff. Any recommendations from anyone? Dunno if maybe debloating apps or programs with a app is possible without root?

So doing a factory reset didn't help? I've tried wiping cache in recovery several times and it doesn't seem to help much.
I'm just waiting for the OnePlus 5 . This lag isn't horrible but unacceptable at this point.

Have you checked who the offenders are in your phone? Which apps/processes are running the most and see if they are 3rd party apps that ruin the experience.
Have you tried changing launchers, maybe try Nova

I never faced any issues or lag except *bixby* for sure. I am using the exynos variant here i am not sure if it's something related to snapdragon chipset or not but
* we encountered lots of problems with note 4 snapdragon variants with emmc bug failure. The nand seems to be corrupted within 2 years and no solution for this kind of problem unless you buy a new motherboard
I bought this phone month a go and it runs as fast as it should
* my only advice for you is to try enabling debug GPU overdraw under developer option google it, definitely it's a 3rd party app causing this problem but in both phones i doubt.

Are you guys using any of the Bye Bixby remapping apps? I had a slight lag but after uninstalling the app it's completely gone. By slight I mean I notice a little stutter when scrolling through my apps in settings, other than that nothing to complain about.

For me also it's the same...the shutters and lags are more when I unlock the phone after few hrours of inactivity and after using the phone for a while they seem to reduce...my one plus3 was way smoother than this phone...

mine will randomly start lagging sometimes after long uptime i think, a reboot fixes it though
Yeah see how much free space you have left... on your internal memory? I have noticed that my phone is filling up with all sorts of crap from a couple games I play and stuff the little advert videos and stuff it's taking up gigs of space...
The only place I see lag in the UI was when using the stock launcher. On the Snapdragon S8+ that i have the launcher that came with the phone is the worst performing launcher I've had out of the box in my 5 years of buying Samsung phones.

S8+ Low ram + bad performance issue need help

So ive been having this issue lately (on latest updates), running G955F (s8+) stock unrooted and knox still intact. I have like really low ram between 300-400mb and device lags all over the place . For example i cant leave games open that will close automatically after a while or if i need to see a whatsapp message most other backround tasks will close too which is anoying . And yeah i know how android works and the fact that more free memory doesnt mean better performance exactly, but when theres too low memory then apps starts to be killed etc , which gives bad performance overall.
To clarify all of this , i hard reseted the device already and when it boots with just whatsapp and messenger (not even facebook installed) i have already this low ram, been disabling apps with package disabler and free ram doesnt change. Tried also on developer options to limit proccessess with no avail too. So whats happening ? whats eating so much ram and why it doesnt free up ?, on later patches i used to have my common and pretty standart 1.5 to 2.0 gb free ram , now i have device that feels like galaxy s3.
Could it be faulty hardware ? i just dont know anymore at this point, i really tried all i couldve think of.
pd: I have latest stock DBT up to date with latest security patch too.

If I restart the phone, it continues to work fine and free ram is actually good , but as soon as I continue to use the phone then it starts to be less and less free ram available till 300-400mb when phone starts to lag and underperform.
And yeah I try to clean ram using in built device maintenance but when it gets too low it just doesn't change no matter how many times I free it,always stays at 400 or something and phone lags.
I got 1.5gb-1.3gb always free. Do you have stock samsung rom for 955F?

Yep ,stock Samsung unrooted same model as you. With messenger , WhatsApp and Pokemon go as only apps installed.
i also have a lot of apps and have 1.1-1.3gb always free. In settings>apps try to click on each app and u have an option to run in the background. try to disable that and see if ur ram usage drops.
---------- Post added at 09:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:51 PM ----------
And also try to disable things.... try to buy a package disabler from google play and disable stuff u don.t use..
I think its a hardware problem, but as a last resort go for resoft other rom or same rom.
Do this ONLY IF YOU DONT HAVE WARRANTY, if you have, send it.
My exynos s8+ is lagging until i could not even toss the pokeball properly. I have to struggle real hard to play pokemon go. I really could not believe what I am seeing for a 1 year old phone. This is very likely to be my last android phone.
