Surface Pen: Revert to old functionality - Microsoft Surface

Some time ago the pen was slecting text rather than scrolling, which was changed in an update. This is great, but I can't edit Google Calendar anymore without my typecover or a mouse. Is there any way to bring the old functions back without reverting to an outdated version of Windows?

Keyboard

Hello guys. I am a Windows Mobile user going into the HTC Evo. I have been looking around for days for a keyboard that has a TAB option or at least a customizable keyboard that will allow me to add a TAB key. I know a lot of you are rolling your eyes now but this is a need for me as I am a writer and do most of my work on my phone with Documents to Go on Android.
Can anyone point me to one or who can I contact to create one? I like the stock keyboard just needs a TAB key.
Thank you
I use swype, to do tab you press shift then space. Dunno if that's a lot better than hitting space a few times on a different keyboard in your case, but just giving you some options.
I found one that seems like it will work but the recognition seems a bit slow. It is called Smart Keyboard Pro and is 2.99 I think on the market. Comes with iPhone skin, HTC skin, Android skin, and a few original. Seems like it will work out pretty well.

Resco Keyboard 6.0 review

I've used Resco Keyboard off and on for quite a long time. But while I continued to use it on my iPaq I more or less shelved it on my last two phones because the "thumb board" never seemed to be what it was advertised to be, and the normal mode wouldn't resize to take advantage of the higher resolution and larger screens. Fast forward to last night.
I downloaded the trial of the new version (6.0), and installed it. First thing I noticed is that the thumboard works. It looks somewhat similar to the Full Qwerty kb that comes on the HD2, though there is a space between each of the keys. And this makes for fewer mistakes while typing.
What makes Resco's kb so appealing has always been the extra things and customization that you can do with it, and in this new version the process of customizing it is extremely easy. I had modified the old version to work for me in terms of key layouts but it was tough to do. This new version uses only two files, and both are in the MS Siliverlight format. They are csv files and I only had to modify one of them, _Symbols.csv in order to make the two numeric boards appear exactly as I wanted them to, and it only took me an hour or so to do it. I had no prior experience with the format used, it's just that easy to modify the files. I was even able to reassign the values of the two center keys at the bottom of each of the numeric keyboards to act as a spacebar of sorts. And now, between the qwerty and the first numeric board I have all of the keys I need for 99% of my typing. There are only 2 keys on the 2nd numeric board that I need to use it for.
In addition to making the process of changing the key values much easier Resco continues that idea with their FX board. This feature allows you to store phrases, date and time stamps, hyperlinks and just about any kind of string you use frequently, each to be added to your open document, appt. etc, with the press of a single key. And this time, just as with the keyboards, the process of adding these special strings is so much easier than with previous versions.
I only needed to use this for as long as it took me to figure out the reassignment of keys to realize that this was worth the $9.95 price. I've been using it as much as possible today and have no regrets, it's a very slick keyboard. And it seems to work just as well in landscape. Because you can try before you buy I would recommend it to anyone. It's worth a look imho.
edit: Almost forgot to mention, one of the screens contains large buttons for all four arrow keys, and also Cut, Copy, Paste, Del, Select All, and an extra backspace key. Pretty slick.
so, can u tell me why when i use resco keyboard pro 6 as default the windows mobile UI seems to be sluggish.. the menu scroll is not as smooth when using HTC keyboard..
sorry for my bad english.. hope you understand..
does anyone know of any skins for resco 6.0
I have seen no difference at all in the performance of the phone or the UI with Resco 6.0 installed. Of course I'm running a very clean ROM. And I'm not using Sense. I have Spb Mobile Shell installed. Works like a charm
Resco doesn't have any skins showing on their site, though I haven't yet checked their forum. I am sure the skins from previous versions would not be compatible. I wouldn't mind a little color but I wouldn't mess with the layout I have with it now. Just my personal preference, that.
resco keboard registry product key
I have HTC p6500 Mantle wm6.5 with a resco keboard installed and running. I need to factory reset and will need the product key which I have lost all trace of.
Can the product key be found in the registry?
Or!
Can a product key be found somewhere else?

[Q] Autocorrect Issues

Has anyone noticed that autocorrect functionality only works in the core google apps? I can see suggestions come up, but when I type "teh" instead of "the" it won't automatically correct text in Polaris Office for example - but it works fine in Gmail.
Tried Thumb Keyboard 3.0, 4.0 beta 4, stock Honeycomb, and the stock Asus keyboard and they all seem to have the same issue.
Wanted to see if anyone had some tips for getting this to work of it if is just how Android works...

Thumb keyboard

This is a must try app. I've tried every keyboard there is and this is my favorite. It has 27 themes, several different layouts including some split ones. I download the tablet version and it really is awesome on the note. Give it a try if you haven't yet
From the Beast : Galaxy Note
+1 for Thumb Keyboard - if you want a quick typing experience on your huge screen, this is the way to go! I've been using it ever since on my 1st Android device till now and has recommended it to every person.
This has always been my keyboard of choice for tablets and it is now my keyboard of choice for the Note. Although there still seems to be a bug that double clicks some letters when you only click them once. Not sure why that happens but its been on going for over a year. Maybe its just how i type
bought this for my tablet
I bought this for my newly squired (el cheapo) tablet. It is a godsend. I hated typing on that thing, and now it is easy. I used to have to use a USB keyboard, but now I can use the screen when required.
I love the ability to change the layout on orientation, and to up the height of the spacebar row, since my (el cheapo, did I mention that?) tablet is unresponsive on the bottom edge making the stock keyboard impossible to use in landscape. This one solved that magnificently

[Q] sense keyboard in aosp rom

hello! does anyone know of a way to get a sense-like keyboard in a aosp rom (liquid smooth rom is the one i am using)? Before i made the move to aosp, which i plan on staying with as its much faster and more efficient in my opinion, i had a keyboard similar to this http://imgur.com/TN76u with the arrow keys and such. I tried Perfect Keyboard from android market, which is very nice and works perfectly, EXCEPT it does not work with connect bot/ssh which completely defeats the purpose of having arrow keys for recalling recent commands lol, for some reason the keyboard refuses to enter text normally the second i open up a screen session in debian, although if i quickly switch over to stock android keyboard i can enter text perfectly, but the stock keyboard does not have arrow keys which is my original problem. I am open to any suggestions, so would really appreciate any help that i can get in finding a decent keyboard thanks!
Hi,
try to disable the option "always suggest " in perfect keyboard settings.
Lacrosse, same here. Like the "older" style keyboard with the arrows, just prefer it and the bigger type box.
Anybody??
Tapatalkn with my Thunderbolt
Give SwiftKey a try. I've had wonderful results with it. Look in the options to enable arrow keys, plus the text correction and suggestions are fantastic. Themes could use a little work, though.
You might be able to get in with their beta program and download it for free to play with for a while without buying and having to drop it 15 minutes later.
Good hunting!
This is what I use on CM7 on my 'bolt: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663608
You don't get the arrows, but you get the same layout and many more features.
