So in google settings i notice it says device certification uncertified? Why its not certified? honor 6x bln-l24 usa model.
Ony thing i did too it was unlock bootloader but i did not root or change anything else.
Clear data & cache for Play store, then reboot.
You lose device certification after unlocking the bootloader, AFAIK.

That says you fail the safetynet test.
This means not every app is downloadable if the programmer doesn't want to.It says: your device is not compatible.
Netflix, South Park, Layton, etc....the list is getting longer and longer.
F*** this safety net sh*t!
Maybe you should try magisk if you're needing any app like this!
dam that sucks than... i might just locked the bootloader again sense im not rooted anyways.. Just dont get why it does that when the bootloader is unlocked even tho i didn't even root yet.....
Sense im waiting till 8.0 comes out before i do any root.

Hi all,
I started working on the LG G5 a way back .. and now that we've got the device in stores I guess it's time to work all together to bring it up !
STATUS
- [02/04/2016] All the US Carriers/Sellers locked the bootloaders so NO TWRP possible and consequently NO CM possible
CURRENT GOALS
- Thought, all the Europe variants will be for sure unlocked so we need to prepare the sources for it
- Here is where all the sources are pushed https://github.com/G5Devs
ETA :
- The tree is made
- The vendor is made
- The kernel is made
TODO :
- Clarifying kernel sources
- Add the ramdisk to the device
- Split the g5 to g5-common and all the under variants
This thread is not a thread to release builds, it's about contributing all together into this bringup in order to get the nicest thing out of it when the bootloaders will become unlockable.
I hope we'll can work all together !
Does no twrp mean no roms at all and can certain stuff be done via adb?

It does unlock, but the DM-VERIFY is still presenting a no-go.
Evidently LG is using a custom type of bootloader.

only for that specific device(s) on HTC
HTC has a portal that allows you to unlock bootloader for that specific device (hence the need to copy+paste token to HTC's portal and get the unlock key)
no doubt HTC will void warranty immediately in their system when you input token
LG doesn't have this (yet? i hope)
Yeah, was just a thought. Haven't owned a LG in some time, been on the Samsung wagon. The G5 is on my watch list of devices I might get, I like the design. I'll try to see if I can find something that might be more constructive to the cause. The HTC link was the first thing I could think of that I've dealt with.
I see that LG has release a tool for the G4 and that's device specific and seems to work on the European devices.
Totally willing to contribute monetarily if this will help any developers out. I don't have much else but really want to help get this phone broken open and fixed up good!

PS : NEWS : I'm mostly done making the variant specific trees and kernel. But I want the kernel to be clean.. So it's slow..
Any status updates? I'm following this stuff like a hawk haha
Been reading around trying to gather information
How do you test to see if your handset has the DM verify second bootloader lock?
I am hoping to get my UK unbranded unlocked retail H850 unit on Friday, so am happy to test any restrictons, but don't know how to check for this?
If I buy a g5 from best buy would it still have the locked bootloader?

Root root roooottt!!!
Huawei requires us to wait 2 weeks after owning the phone and logging into Huawei's servers. Then, they'll allow us to get an unlock code for the bootloader.
Once the bootloader is unlocked, rooting will be a piece of cake.
Thanks. I guess you need to activate the Huawei ID for this?

No, haven't seen anything. Some people here are testing, and they will post details once successful....
I rooted my last two phones (Note 2 and 4) but I'm wondering if it's a big deal for the Mate 9.
It's got really good control of unwanted apps, and I suspect there won't be any custom ROMs for a while.
So what are you guys hoping to do with a rooted Mate 9?

Yes. There is an MSM Tool in the guides section of the 7 Pro forums of XDA. there are actually 3, but you're looking for the one to revert back to stock T-Mobile firmware.

If I recall correctly, it'll even relock the bootloader, though you could just relock it yourself before using the tool to make sure. There's no flags tripped or anything like Samsung's Knox counter.

With a locked bootloader, no. If you get it unlocked use the Canary release of magisk for root on 10 and TWRP is pretty much fastboot only on 10 at present.

Wow , that really sux.
I see there are already rooting/unlocking bootloader instructions for the regular 8T. is there any reason I should hesitate before buying the 8T+?
my main concern is (future) 8T roms may not work on 8T+. but in general, seems like most OnePlus phones eventually get official LineageOS. so should I not worry about it?
obviously it'll be some time before roms are available regardless - that's fine. I'm more thinking about 2 years down the road.

Thats for sim unlock. There's no time requirement listed for the bootloader. Only need the sim unlocked prior. So if tforce is willing to whitelist the imei (which it sounds like they usually do if your nice about it) then it should be possible. It can take 2 days to get the unlock file but thats better than 2 years to pay off the device.
