Dear xda ers,
my devive system is hijacking my data usage plan, i would constantly find that 500mb of data daily. No rouge apps though. How to remedy this situation?

Does anyone know how to get information on how many bytes have been downloaded/uploaded for GPRS data in Windows Mobile? I plan to sign up 1GB mobile data connection, so crucial to know that I won't use more than 1GB.. Thanks.
i am using SPB Wireless Monitor. It's not free but it does enable you to keep a close eye on what you are using amd which application is hogging your data.
Hello
The cached data (settings>storage>Cached data) on my nexus 5 is taking ~3gb of space. I can delete the cached data of ALL the apps from storage and free up space this way. What will it be deleting? The preferences of apps? I understand it doesnt delete app data itself but then why is it taking up so much space?
Thanks!
whens the last time you rebooted?

Yes you can clear the cache data. It wont affect your apps.
I've seen that this app has consumed about 20MB in 20 days, but I've bearly used it, maybe a couple of very short conversations in that period of time with no media being transferred. Does it consume data in the background or something? I know 20MB is not much, but, considering the usage, I find this a bit excessive.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there folks
With all the app updates etc over time, things tend to slow down a bit - mostly due to lack of free memory I suspect.
I've tried some apps such as smart booster etc, and notice immediate improvement once free memory is increased. Especially when I get a slow down switching between or loading apps.
With this in mind, what other apps or process killers are out there, or perhaps non-essential root apps that can be disabled/removed for stock 4.1.2???

I'm having a lot of success now by switching off background data for apps etc. I started by switching off everything & progressively enabling just the ones that MUST run for efficiency of use.
In addition to this, I run "Prevent Running" very aggressively - started by killing EVERYTHING, and followed the same procedure to allow just essential system & non-system apps & services that must run for smooth & fast operation.
I also set it to kill background apps & processes after a minute.
The phone is literally operating like a new one & has been so for a while. One app that can bog down the system (memory) is the recycle bin for ES, so switch off or regularly clear it if you get low mem errors.
