You need to have battery level high enough for it to allows force updating.
When you said you linked all apps to sd-card did you literally mean all apps, or only user apps.

flash stock firmware.

HY, if your question is how to flash recovery, than is pretty simple.First go to playstore, then find Rom manager, from there you will download CWM.Then reboot into stockk recovery(the one your phone allready has)/choose reinstall package (do it two times),and then reboot into recovery.IMPORTANT, do not erase the CWM file, because every time you flash recovery ,it needs the zip file. PLEASE PRESS THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!!!!

With this he could brick his device...If the phone doesn't have the recovery available or if it has a locked bootloader he can't do this. Please don't spread disinformation as it could harm other people's devices. And to the OP if you could get a stock recovery.img and if the bootloader is unlocked you could use the cwm builder to get the recovery and then fastboot to flash it.

You can't just flash any recovery on any device, doing so could PERMANENTLY DAMAGE it. I've been doing stuff like this for quite some time and I know stuff like this. And yes, he has to search about it. It will take more time but it will take a lot more if he destroys his device. And yes it IS YOUR FAULT if you give him completely wrong instructions and he destroys his phone by following them. So if you are unsure about something or you don't know something then don't post it, since it can only make things bad not help.

first of all thanks for the link...but do clarify one thing:
I have already installed drivers for my phone through pda net while rooting my phone..do i need to uninstall the drivers of the phone & again install it?
It will be greatly helpful if you mention the exact steps you have followed in your own writing rather than the pdf which you have given as it is not very clear.(no offense)
Your help regarding this will be much appreciated..ty!
If you already rooted your phone, install mobile uncle App from play.
Place the recovery in the root of SD card.
open mobile uncle and search for recovery update.
this app will install the recovery.
hope this helps..

You have to flash recovery using spflash tools
I tried many times with other methods but it always fails
flashing will void your warranty though, but you can reflash stock rom and act dumb at the service centre and they will fix your phone for free (done this twice)
Miui, lewa os, stock modified 4.2.1(by m_jani) are the only working non crashing roms I know of, let me know if you need their links
how do i...

You can use any of them. Both are fully functional. I prefer TWRP because it makes smaller in size backups, it is a touch recovery also

TWRP on the GT-S7275R?
Hey i found this guide for installing CWR on the GT-S7275 and thought it should be the same to install TWRP. Is this the Problem or that i have the GT-S7275R with the "R" ?
Is there a way to install TWRP on it to flash your CM12 ROM?

So i should try the cwm? Some other guys had similar problems: After step 10 i wanted to boot to recovery but after a few seconds of the recovery loading screen (blue text) it booted to normal android.
Uninstalling CWM, getting this version of TWRP
I'm trying to get CM 12 on a friends phone but I can't get the recovery to work,
This is what I did:
1. Installed CWM through ODIN v3.07 (going into download mode and stuff)
2. It worked! I went into recovery mode and started wiping everything, but I got an error when wiping the cache partition
3. The phone rebooted.
3. Went to ODIN again, downloaded TWRP but after installing it (which I did correctly according to ODIN v3.07) the recovery didn't change and it's still that buggy build of CWM that won't let me install CM 12 on the device.
4. I though I could force install the recovery using a .img I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/ace-...3-lte-t2989278 but I really don't know how, any thoughts?
This is the buggy CWM copy I used and I want to remove: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2548856
Thanks!
hi there - i've tried both CWM (recovery-6.0.5.1.tar.md5) and twrp-2.8.7.0.tar.md5 but is still unable to install the cm-12.1-20150821-UNOFFICIAL-loganreltexx.zip.
I've downloaded the cm files a few times and have even formatted the sdcard yet receive this error message:
E:Cant open /storage/sdcard1/cm-12.1-20150821-UNOFFICIAL-loganreltexx.zip (Bad)
Installation aborted.
Appreciate advice on what I have done wrong or not done? Tks!

Hello Kotzir,
First of all, thank you for your great job !
Install via ODIN, already known method, like CWM
On this thread, it would be helpful to add a link to the latest version of Odin, or otherwise a link to this page :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548856
And to precise how to enter the download mode :
1. Go to download mode on the device : when the phone is off, press "Home+ Volume DOWN + Power"
And, to be complete :
6. And when the phone is automatically rebooting, press "Home+ Volume UP + Power" to enter in the recovery mode.
Elsewhere the TWRP recovery will be erased by the stock ROM, and it would be to be redone...
Thanks !

Marshmallow on Nexus 4

Hello! I have watched your Youtube video Of Marshmallow running on Nexus 4. I want some assistance from your side. I have a rooted Nexus 4 and I also want to install Marshmallow on my nexus 4. I have downloaded the Frank N4 rom and the google apps as provided from the link in your video description. Both are zip files of 201Mb and 199 Mb respectively. So how can I install that rom and Gapps? Please help. I have copied both the zip files to my Phone.
Can I now turn my phone in to recovery mode and then flash the rom and then Gapps?
Or what is the recommended way? Please help me.

i dont use flashify, but i think you just pick the one you want, then click install.
if you want more clarification on how to install it properly, im sure there is a twrp thread in the n4 forum which will provide instructions to install it.
I have copied the frank-mako rom(201mb) and Banks-Gapps6(199mb) zip files in my nexus 4 along with the TWRP-2.8.7.0-Mako.img(8.82mb).
Now what steps should I take to update my Nexus 4 to Marshmallow? Please help me. Thanks in Advance
Go on to flaah recovery and then clean flash rom and reboot. After reboot dont do anything just switch off and boot onto recovery and flaah gapps and then do a normal bootto use rom and enjoy.

while i agree people need to learn how to do it the right way, i am well versed in adb and fastboot, but i have use wugs forever and never had an issue.
i have to believe most of the problems come from user error, which the same could be said for manual installs. wug makes a solid tool and has put a ridiculous amount of work into it.
however, im not sure if it can install a custom rom, regardless, if you cant flash a zip without a tool, you shouldnt be modding anything, i def agree with that

Means you're having exactly the same problem I had.I tried different ways and techniques to fix it but none worked. Then finally I fixed it by just flashing my device's stock firmware. But still there may be another simpler fix for your particular device so just try googling around the internet, mentioning your device and its problem, if nothing works then just flash it's stock firmware. But just in case you don't know how to, just take it to the nearest Samsung service centre and hopefully the guys there will flash its stock firmware. Just for your information, before I manually tried flashed the stock firmware, I also did take my device to a service centre first, but they found out it was rooted and they said they couldn't fix it and they said that the only way it was to replace its motherboard, which costs more than half the phone's total price. But when I took it home I finally decided to flash the firmware manually and thus, the device is up and running again.

Phone only boots to eRecovery and Rescue mode with errors

Hi,
I have decided to open a thread to explain better my situation and make things more clear.
I first have unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-tested-root-t3443946
After that I have decided to go back to locked and unrooted because I needed to upgrade from v6.0 EMUI4.1 to 7.0 EMUI 5 and I have:
downloaded "FullOTA-MF-PV" version "FRD-L09C432B381" from "FF" (but I think it was the wrong version for me) and put to my internal storage
downloaded and used "unSU" to unroot: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067
flashed "boot.img" and "recovery.img" that I have extracted with "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" from TWRP
now the phone always boot to eRecovery and there is nothing I can do.
I can't enter recovery.
When I shut it down the phone and connect it to cable to charge it, it boots to "Rescue" with the following text: "Error! Func NO : 10 (boot.img) Error NO : 2 (load failed)" (I think this is bad) and after some time it boots to eRecovery again.
I tried to press "VOL+ / VOL- / POWER" while connected to PC and it enters "Fastboot&Rescue" but my PC does not recognize it well, indeed when I run "adb devices" from CMD it does not show my phone, the list is empty.
Now I have got a SDCARD and I have downloaded "rollback package" from Huawei Honor site and "B131 firmware" and first put only rollback "dload" folder to my card. I have inserted the card to phone, shut it down and pressed "VOL+ / VOL- / POWER" but it is stuck at Honor start blue screen and nothing happens.
(my SDCARD is FAT formatted, is it ok or do I need to change it?)
Please, please I really need help with this. The phone is new and I don't want to loose it.
Thanks a lot.
Sorry guys, fortunately I have solved.
The problem was with rollback version, I have deleted it from sdcard and put the other "B131 firmware" "dload" folder and the forced update worked.
Now I'm back to 6.0 and EMUI 4.1 with firmware B131.
Now the important thing is to update to 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 (don't want to make the same mistake I made before).
After that I'm not sure whether I still want to unlock bootloader and root, but if I decide to do that what guide do I have to follow when coming from 7.0 EMUI 5.0?
What do you think about following these steps:
download TWRP from https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563, enter fastboot and run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-frd.img
enter recovery and flash Magisk v12 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445)
will it be enough or do I have to unlock run
Code:
fastboot oem unlock [insertnumberhere]
again with same number I used before to register to huawei site?

Ok, I have done oem unlock againt and installed TWRP.
After that I have flashed Magisk v12 and now it boots only to eRecovery so it did not work with Magisk.
I made a TWRP backup for v7.0 and now I have restored it so it working againt but I need root.
Could I maybe try with old SuperSU "v2.76-20160630161323.zip" method as explained here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-tested-root-t3443946?
Or do you think it is better to try with newest SuperSU version?
It is weird the Magisk did not work.
Thanks
Supersu 2.79 dint gave bootloop for me on emui 5 . I hope it works for u too

great it works thank you very much.
Just one thing: I want to restore all apps from a Titanium Backup folder. I have just copied it to H8 and selected that folder from TB 8.0.1 but it just hangs at 0%. I also tried to install it as a system app but no luck.
Do you know anything about that?
Now I'm trying to make a update.zip backup file with all apps and data from my old phone and I will try to restore in H8. Hope it works.
Thanks

wow I did not know that.
When I switched from my old Samsung Galaxy to HTC One I use it without problem, just copied the folder with all apps and data from one phone to other and restored backups.
Why does it not work in this case with H8?

Its better u install .
I used to build various roms , i take a nandroid backup first . Test each rom one after the other and then restore the backup.
Sometimes if i find a rom much stable than the one i used before , i will stick to it and reinstall all the apps . Happens once in two days for me .
Kindly dont go with titanium backup as it access encrypted data partition which will result in bootloop
