I have a Surface RT 2 which is just looping at Surface Logo and won't go ahead of it. I have tried using the USB Recovery from the Microsoft website when I boot from USB and try to reset it (wipe data) it just gives me an error that a required partition is missing and reset cannot be performed.
Any idea on how to unbrick this?:fingers-crossed:
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks.

Ok like an idiot I went to install the stock Asus rom over my AKOP rom using twrp. Now it just sits at the Asus logo screen and will not boot. How the hell do I fix that?
If you still have fastboot flash cwmand do it again
And if I don't have fastboot? I mean right now if I hold vol down and pwr all it does is turn the screen off. It will not boot into twrp

Turn the screen off? Screen shouldn't be on when you do it, shut it down, then hold Power+VolDown until it turns on and the white text comes up in the corner.
then you will see 3 icons choose the usb icon with Vol- and Proceed with Vol+. Then you are in fastboot.
I got it thanks! She's back up and running.
Hello,
I also have the problem to get stuck in the boot screen. I have a brand new TF300TG, only installed some apps (not unlocked, not rooted). I only made the automatic update to 9.4.4.40, after that it always stops at the boot screen.
What I already tried:
- cold boot
- wipe
- RCK (Android with rotating things shows up short, after that the Android with the warnings sign shows up)
I also downloaded the whole WW 9.4.4.40 package from ASUS and put it on a MicroSD. If I make RCK with this (if I rename the file to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.ZIP) the Android with the rotating thing shows up longer, but I still get stuck in the boot screen.
I already contacted ASUS support and will also return it to a service center, but I'm in China and expect a long process with some troubles, so I wanted to ask if anyone has another idea what I can try?
Ernst
Update:
I think it was now possible to update WW 9.4.4.40 again (renamed to EP201_768_SDUPDATE.ZIP). I now used a different MicroSD with only 2GB. The first time RCK it stopped in the middle of the update (after that the Android with the warning sign came), the second time I tried it, I think it finished, but the TF300TG still stops booting at the ASUS boot screen.
If I try now to update over MicroSD again, it doesn't work.
I have the same problem, only difference is that pressing vol down and power on makes no difference. When its on I also can't turn it off. I just have to wait until the battery is drained.
you have flashed ICS ROM in JB bootloader as far I see - hardbrick if you don't have nvflash files - only service.
Sent from my GALAXY Cooper
Its not me Its the Drivers!!!
So I have a TFT300T, unlocked and rooted, all was fine till i decided to try another ROM. So I installed CWM no problem. Once I installed the ROM problem. I seem to be stuck at the ASUS screen. I have tried loading boot loader to do a wipe and factory reset and that simply boots me to CWM, tried the same thing there but to no avail. So researched bricked Transformer and came across the Nvflash method as well as the Asus Transformer Kit (US ONLY). However I cant proceed cause of the APX driver issue. I tried the included drivers but Win7 wasn't interested. I tried 1 desktop and two laptops, same thing. I even tried my bench tester. Now Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72 seems to install but no communication between the PC and the tab with this driver.
I tried bootloader to try a fastboot command but then the Device manager demands a driver for "Transformer". Same issue. Tried downloading from Asus plus a couple on the web. It seems its the Tablet. I thought to try CWM and an sdcard but it doesn't give me the option to mount it. So if any one knows a fix I would be forever grateful.

Ive got a B60 Asus TF101 that is stuck in APX mode. I have tried using NVflash and EasyFlasher but both stop after "Formatting Partition 10 CAC please wait ..done!" I have tried two different APX drivers - both have the same result. I have tried on 4 different computers - 1 win XP, 3 win7, one of which is a brand new i7 Asus with 16gb ram. Every time the NVflash will stop after formatting partition 10. It doesnt start partition 11 it just finishes partition 10, says done!, then leaves a blank line and nothing ever happens.
I have no idea what to do, or if there is anything I can do to get my tf101 working again.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar [possibly the same] problem with my TF101, Pretty sure it is a SBK1
Can only boot into APX mode
EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE appears to reflash the recovery but I cannot boot into recovery
FIXED!
Can anybody help me? I had hoped to get some cash for it and now it just hangs.
I had rooted it, I think it was the one click root. I had cwm recovery manager. It was working perfectly, I used root apps with no problems.
This afternoon I went into settings and clicked Factory Reset. The pad rebooted and I got the image of the Android with some moving hexagon in front of it. This kept running for a long time and I clicked the on/off button. Then it tried the normal boot but that hangs too.
I have tried hard reset RCK, "Wipe Data", "Android" but it won't do anything it just hangs.
I had WW_epad-user-9.2.1.27.zip on it and I have tried adding that to a micro-SD card with a copy also named update.zip and then doing hard reset but I won't get anywhere. I tried APX mode but my computer does not register it.
Is there anything I can do or was this the final faceplant for my pad?
Thanks in advance!
CWM is the problem almost certainly
Try unbricking with Easyflasher and install TWRP recovery

Thanks, you saved my weekend! That was surprisingly easy (thanks whitekidney). Apparently I had APX connection all along. I thought I'd get some unknown hardware prompt when the tab entered APX mode but as the drivers already were there...
I now have TWRP installed. Now considering if I am selling this to a total n00b, how can I get it 100% stock? To leave no custom stuff on it. So this situation won't happen to him/her if they make a factory reset. :good:

If your TF is B6O or earlier serial number, you can use NVFlash (Some B7Os work too, not all)
http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Asus/Asus+Transformer+(TF101)/STOCK+ROMS/ICS+.27
Just stick it in APX mode again, and run download.bat
Otherwise I think using Easyflasher again with a stock ROM from ASUSs site should do it, but not 100% on that as I haven't gone back to stock for a long time
I think you can also flash official ASUS updates in TWRP which will return everything back to stock too
http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#support_Download_32
You might need to extract this stock update once and flash the extracted .zip
I got the stock ROM into it and I did a "Factory Reset" and it worked. So I will sell it like this. Thanks for you help!
Just for anyone else having similar problems I will write down what I did to unbrick my tab yesterday.
I had the APX drivers alread installed from previously (Win 7 Pro 64 bit).
Connected the tab via USB to PC, went into APX mode by holding VOL UP + PWR ON. It registered itself under [Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools] -> Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controllers. It said NVidia something and that the device was working properly.
I downloaded EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE & WW_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher.zip
Placed WW_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher.zip into the EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE\asusupdate folder
Started EasyFlasher and flashed TWRP 2.2.1 onto my TF101 and then rebooted the device and went into APX mode again
From EasyFlasher clicked "Flash Asus stock zip / Unbrick" and then rebooted the device
Started the TF101 with VOL DOWN + PWR ON. Pressed VOL UP (RCK) which brought me into TWRP
From there I wiped all data and installed the WW_epaduser9_2_1_27UpdateLauncher.zip
This is how I did it and it worked, may be some stages weren't necessary I don't know. Just wanted to document them if it could help someone else. After starting the TF101 I clicked through the configuration wizard and went to settings and did a Factory Reset to make sure I didn't end up in the same situation (hanging/bricked).

Great news, good luck with your sale !
I have an Asus tf700t that i rooted a long time ago and was running Cromi-x 5.something. I also have TWRP recovery installed.
I can't even remember the details now but at one point about 12 months ago, i when to do a wipe & flash (which i did many times and I felt very confident doing with TWRP) and something went wrong.
All my tablet does now is turn on and flash at the TeamWin screen, that's it. I've allowed for the battery to drain, I've attempted holding the volume key in to boot into recovery, I've removed the SD card...nothing seems to get me un stuck.
I attached my tablet to my pc (which now is windows 8.1 x64) and all I get is an Unknown Transformer device. I have attempted to download and install the google SDK kit along with the original items i used to root my device, none of them seem to "click in".
Am I looking at a dead unit here?
cheers,
Dave
Did you use Wipe Data from the bootloader menu?
If yes, you may be in a forced reboot to recovery loop.
First thing to try is to connect the tablet to power and leave it in TWRP. If you're lucky it'll sort it out and eventually execute the wipe data command. I would leave it for 8 hours or so....
Can you get into the bootloader = fastboot mode?
When in TWRP do you get it recognized with
Code:
adb devices
?
I work at a electronics recycling business. A tablet came in, ASUS ME176CX according to the serial, that had a app called SureLock on it. Basically, the tablet is locked to only showing one app and I don't have the admin password to unlock it. I thought I'd just go in to recovery mode and wipe it back to factory defaults. I did find some sort of wipe/reset option by holding down buttons during boot. Though, as I recall, it didn't say exactly "factory reset" which I thought was odd. I used it but doing that didn't remove the SureLock app. Then I couldn't figure out how to get back to the menu.
I could get in to Fastboot (hold down Volume up and Power and release power after seeing the logo) and select Recovery but after that I only got a picture of a droid on it's butt with a red triangle and exclamation mark. So, I Googled a bit and found a guide that told me how to put fastboot on my PC and how to wipe 3 things and write 3 things, I think, to the tablet connected by USB while in Fastboot mode with the goal of bringing back a recovery menu. The wiping parts worked but the writing parts failed. I just got an error message. After that the tablet stopped booting correctly. It would get stuck at the ASUS logo and didn't show the animated Intel logo below.
Then I figured out how to get TWRP 2.8.7.0 to run on the tablet. I tried some steps in a Youtube video but couldn't copy the ESP.img file because the /dev/block/by-name doesn't exist on my tablet. Maybe I have an older version of Android on it. I suspect the instructions were made for Android 5 and I have 4.
Next I just went in TWRP, Install, and selected the last firmware released by ASUS for the tablet, as a zip file, and tried installing it but I get a error message telling me E: Error executing updated binary in zip '/external_sd/UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.17_KK-user.zip'. I get the same error if I try the earliest firmware from the ASUS download page. I have read that I might be getting this error because I am using an old version of TWRP but the TWRP website doesn't have a download specifically for my device so I'm not sure where to try getting an update.
I tried using the ADB Sideload feature of TWRP. I was told there is a mismatch of versions of ADB on my computer and the tablet. So, I tried downgrading the version of ADB on by computer to match and reran the sideload command. It just told me there was an error and the sideload failed.
Then after Googling a bit more I finally figured out how to get to the Android recovery menu. I have to hold down both volume buttons for about 12 seconds while seeing the droid with the red triangle. I then tried a wipe data/factory reset which didn't succeed in fixing my problem of not getting past the ASUS logo during boot.
So, nothing is working and I don't know why. Can I get some help? I want to get the tablet back to a working state. I did figure out how to get TWRP running on the tablet and figured out how to get in the recovery menu.
While typing this I tried going in to the tablets recovery menu, apply update from ADB, and then used ADB on my PC to upload UL-K013-WW-12.10.1.17_KK-user.zip which was downloaded from ASUS. While the tablet was installing the update there were a couple errors.

Might I be able to get a used ME176C from someplace and make a full backup of it and put it on this messed up tablet, a ME176CX?
