Modded APK to disable sms auto convert to mms. - Samsung Galaxy S8 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi,
The default messaging app converts a text message (SMS) to MMS when its longer then 3 texts. Its not possible to turn this off in the default app. Can someone please mod the APK to disable this feature?
SMS messages are often included in your dialplan, MMS messages are not so this auto convert when not noticed will get you a large bill.
Thanks in advance!

I'am looking for too a solution for this

Seems that we are the only ones haha

I'm looking for a mod also for this one. This is really absurd converting sms to mms.

Hi
Any news to convert without root ?
Thx

Use a 3rd party app like Textra.

Textra do it ?
Any problem with sms and Samsung ?

Yeah. Textra will do it.

One way is to use a different apk. I tried google apk (you must have google framework from magisk installed for it to work). It doesn't convert SMS to MMS , but I love my S8 totally black, so I'm gonna stay with native app.
I don't think the problem is in the .apk itself. There is an xposed module, which disabled this annoying "feature", but it worked only up to 6.0 MM.
The thing is, that the module changed/added a few lines in cscfeature.xml and I think, that is what we need to focus on.
Anyway, here are all the messaging related lines i took from my SM-T705 (6.0), with conversion disabled:
Code:
<CscFeature_Message_DisableMenuSmsInputMode>FALSE</CscFeature_Message_DisableMenuSmsInputMode>
<CscFeature_Message_EnableSaveRestoreSDCard>TRUE</CscFeature_Message_EnableSaveRestoreSDCard>
<CscFeature_Message_SmsMaxByte>999</CscFeature_Message_SmsMaxByte>
<CscFeature_Message_SmsInputMode>automatic</CscFeature_Message_SmsInputMode>
<CscFeature_Message_DisableSmsToMmsConversionByTextInput>TRUE</CscFeature_Message_DisableSmsToMmsConversionByTextInput>
<CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLengthAs>999</CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLengthAs>
Right now I'm running 8.0. Trying to add these to cscfeatures.xml. After reboot my messaging app just stops adding new symbols at the end of third message, does not convert to MMS anymore and gives me an error toast message: "Maximum number of characters reached".
I would love, if someone more advanced than me could help me out with some advice or some line of code.
If anyone with Samsung 7.0+ device has the ability to write more than 3 sms before conversion or conversion disabled, please post your cscfeature.xml!

Any way to force stock SMS notifications to route to GO SMS?

Hi guys,
I just got turned on to GO SMS PRO today, and I really love the functionality and customization. Problem is, I just rooted my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and installed Jelly Bean, and I completely dig the new notifications. I tried turning off notifications on GO SMS, and setting it as the default send and view program..which allows me to only receive notifications from the stock SMS app, but when I click that notification, it opens up with the stock as well, even though GO SMS is the default view program. Is there any way around this or is it an all or nothing situation? I'd really appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!

Change the name of the stock messaging app, or company remove it from system apps using root explorer
If you wish to remove it, I'd copy and paste it elsewhere in your sd card so you have it later if desired.
It looks like the app already has that ability. From the changelog:
V4.56 Update (2012-7-20)
1.Add Premium Feature Pack (Find Phone, local backup SMS/MMS/private box, etc) in application center
2.Add sync Facebook contact photos (Premium feature)
3.Add backup/restore MMS (Premium feature)
4.Add option to set default SMS program (in Settings->Basic)
5.Optimize My Location plug-in
6.Optimize Facebook binding with GO Chat
7.Fix security lock issue in ICS
8.Fix number lock issue in JB (Android 4.1)
9.Fix ring choice, notification issues in JB
Thanks for the responses guys!

I actually couldn't find the stock messaging app in root explorer! I looked up messaging, SMS, and nothing came up..not sure what else it would be under. But if I did that, would it actually force the stock notification to open up with GO SMS, or would it just prevent it from opening with the stock app?

Thank you, but I believe number 4 is just referring to the option to set GO SMS as the default SMS program..I have that set, but still when I click on the stock notification, it opens up in the stock messaging app. Lame!
Thanks again guys!
Same problem here...

[Q] Has anyone figured out changing default dialer app on Nexus 5?

Really, has anyone figured it out? For example if I install ExDialer and get a missed call notification, I always have to choose the default app to view it. It seems impossible to set ExDialer (or any other 3rd party app) as the default for opening the call history. There is always the extra tap to choose the app.
Anyone, solution? I have read the whole internet and can't find the workaround.
I can't get to really like the new KitKat dialer, want to use ExDialer ...
What happens if you freeze the stock dialer?

Well, there's two things that can be disabled. One is the Phone app. The other is the Google Dialer app. If I disable Phone then there's no difference. If I disable the Dialer app then I can open the missed calls well with exDialer but if there's an incoming call then there's no sign of it except for the led being on (I assume the Google Dialer app is responsible for displaying incoming calls and the answer/decline buttons).
So I must have the Google Dialer app running but that means I can't use ExDialer.

I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out. I've lost my hopes. There is no way to do that. I've even been flashing several different roms to test this out. Can't believe so few people are actually discussing this.

Multi-part SMS

So the one thing that is annoying me on the G3 using stock SMS app is that if somebody sends me a long SMS that is split into multiple SMS's, sometimes the arrive out of order. On my old Galaxy S3 these messages came in as a single MMS, thus being one single message that was not out of order.
Anyone know of a way to change this? I do not want to switch messaging apps because I like all of the features of the stock messaging app.
Unfortunately, it would appear that sending long text-only messages as MMS is not supported by the stock messaging app.

I wonder if anyone has looked inside the stock messaging apk for settings like this. That was how the samsung messaging apk was modified.

Even the G3 Tweaksbox, an Xposed Module which can reveal the option to disable the screen wake for messages, doesn't have such an option.

Emoji (Unicode 9.0) - WhatsApp vs GBoard

Currently when using WhatsApp I don't have access to the new set of emojis that were released last year. When people send them to me in WhatsApp they're rendered as GBoard emojis plus extra noise like squares and women symbols.
If I use the GBoard emoji settings I can send them but they're rendered as the Google versions and not the WhatsApp ones, and even when sent as a single emoji WhatsApp doesn't enlarge it like it does the ones available from within the app when tapping the smiley face icon to the left of the text entry box.
WhatsApp have said that this is nothing to do with them, it's all down to the phone. Is this correct? The phone seems to have the ability to display them through GBoard but I'm wondering why not through WhatsApp as native apps. Is there a way to get the Unicode 9.0 characters into WhatsApp without rooting my phone?
Thanks.
whatsapp just rolled out a beta update through the play store , including new emojis and updating (some? i don't think they reworked everything) existing ones
