GT-N8010 running CM13.0: No netflix video - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm running CM13.0 on my GT-N8010.
Netflix streaming works fine but when I download an episode and try to play, the audio works but I get no video.
Just a black screen.
I disabled all colour correction and display adaptive settings.
Still no go. Thoughts?

I have the same problem on my N8000 (Galaxy Note 10.1 GSM), running LineageOS 14.1
It is strange because my mako (Nexus 4) is also rooted, has the same LineageOS version, but the download feature of Netflix works there...
I compared what the 'DRM Info' app says in each case, and the only difference is in Google Widevine:
Note 10.1
System ID 4445
Security Level L3
HDCP Level Unprotected
Max HDCP Level Supported Unprotected
Number of Open Sessions 2
Maximum Number of Sessions 16
Nexus 4
System ID 128
Security Level L1
HDCP Level Disconnected
Max HDCP Level Supported HDCP-2.2
Number of Open Sessions -
Maximum Number of Sessions -
This might be a hint towards what the problem is; anyone familiar with DRM stuff?

Hi, Netflix newer versions are with hdcp protection, download version from may/16

[Q] Poor streaming performance over WiFi after upgraded latest version

After upgraded latest version 1.7.40, the wifi streaming performance are strange.
WiFi signal is good but streaming a mkv/avi above 3GB will have lagging/freezing issues.
Tried using all the decoder even the software decode also getting same issue.
Also tried max the CPU cores limit set to 8 and speed up trick taken still act the same.
Wonder the buffering size had changed or any tweak can be done???
Anyone had facing the same issue???

2 Problems regarding Streaming/Mirroring and slow Internet

I am trying to stream my Gear VR experience using a paid app called Screen Stream Mirroring. I can get it to stream with no problem however, any streaming I do results in a video fee that is EXTREMELY laggy, unwatchable. I'm connected to my home network, which I have zero issues with when streaming 1080 from my PC. I downloaded a seperate app to locally record what's on the screen, as soon as I start playing a game, it records it fine but as I go to watch my game through a video player app, the video is choppy. Maybe 1 frame for every 3 seconds. Same as when I stream for others to watch. Same thing happened when I connected my chromecast. My TV shows a mirror of my phone but it is horrendously laggy. I've had some serious issues with this phone since day 1.
Any idea what could be causing it? I've seen other users stream and mirror with no issues, why am I unable to do it? I can't record, I can't stream, and I can't even mirror to my tv because it all lags horrendously.
I'm using a Note 5. It's not running stock I'm using a custom OS and firmware courtesy to XDA.
I am currently using TEKXodus rom and SkyHigh kerner.
Last issue I have, and this is something I have had since day 1, is when ever I try to watch videos on youtube or download files, it's significantly slower compare to my Note 3. I can not watch 1080 videos or 720. Even at 640 my videos sometimes lags! I don't understand why, I have unlimited internet. I called Tmobil but they said that everything is working fine. Anyone has any ideas? I really dislike the Note 5 ;/ I miss my Note 3

Android Auto - Audio issues

Hello all... Hoping to get some help for my unlocked AU Oppo R7plus f handset with ColorOS 2.1.1. I have a new car with Android Auto, and my phone doesn't seem to function correctly.
I've enabled developer mode to enable USB debugging which allowed my handset to be detected by my car but the audio quality is distorted using Android Auto. It isn't streaming audio quality I am referring too - all google and navigation commands and music stored on my phone have the same issue.
Its not the car or the USB cable as I've tested my Samsung and Apple handsets and they work with my car.
What else can I try?
Can you safely uninstall ColorOS and install Android Marshmallow instead? I'd need guidance
Any idea on when ColorOS 3.X will be released?
Thanks in advance!

I have exactly the same issue.
I have come across this issue on updating my car radio to one that is Android Auto compatible (Hyundai i30 GD-03 radio). My phone is an Oppo R7sf ColorOS 2.1.0i, Android 5.1.1.
'All' music, voice directions, Google assistant, youtube audio come through with a horrible distortion with the original signal barely audible beneath. The distortion is a short transient produced every 43ms (approx 23Hz).
I initially thought it could be some sort of electrical interference issue (but surely the USB audio is digital?). In experimenting with audio played through Android Auto via Black Player, I came across some songs on my phone that would play perfectly!
Looking at the 'good' and 'bad' song files in detail, it became obvious that all of the distorted (bad) songs were 44.1kHz sample rate. Other files with sample rates of 96kHz and 48 kHz played perfectly.
Which now makes me think this is a software issue with my phone. I tested with my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5 and it worked perfectly.

Hi celoxocis, I am unsure. My R7S is currently stock (it is my day-today phone). I COULD try and install Lineage, although currently don't want to risk bricking anything (small chance I know). So I'm PROBABLY going to get a new phone at some stage. So then I'd be able to test out LineageOS

No support for higher bitrate on LDAC?

Been using the Pixel 3 as my daily driver for a while now, but just recently came an interesting piece. Apparently, the Pixel 3 doesn't support LDAC at Optimum Audio Quality (more details here - https://themrphone.com/article/google-pixel-3-xl-doesnt-support-ldac-at-optimum-audio-quality/)
I was planning on buying a high-end set of Bluetooth headphones, in fact, was considering the same ones used in the link above. Can anyone else confirm this?

Working fine for me with both LDAC (detected and used automatically) and "Optimised For Audio Quality" (switched from default "Best Effort" in Developer Settings)
Pixel 3 (non XL) with Sony MDR-1000X (gen 1 of the headphones in your linked article) and Google Play Music.
Granted GPM isn't a Hi-Res source, but it's playing fine! There was a momentary drop in audio for a split second on changing bit rate but it resumes with no issue!
I had this same issue with my Audeze Mobius--the Pixel 2 allowed me to set the rate to 990, but the Pixel 3 would do as described in the link. Seems like a software bug, I doubt it actually isn't capable of using the full rate
I can't say, I'm much of an audiophile or anything but I do like to play with settings for what sounds best with what I have. On my Galaxy s8 running oreo and my previous s5 running aospx/oreo I could change the developer Bluetooth settings on the fly and notice the difference instantly (avrcp/bt_codec/sample_rate/bit_rate/ldac_codec).
If I do it on the pixel 3, the Bluetooth just falls out, connection wise it stops but still shows it's connected, app wise I can't close and reload the app. I have to turn the Bluetooth off or reset it completely sometimes.
It's kind of a bummer, being a brand new phone and all, I noticed the absolute volume disable didn't seem like a difference either.
I hope they resolve it.
Update: disabling bluetooth a2dp hardware offload let me freely change all those settings while in use with out locking anything up. What that necessarily does or the effect of changing the settings and how well they actually change??? I can't answer with any rational or testworthy explanation as my audio products are oem Bluetooth radios in vehicles.

Video recording app with Bluetooth microphone support or alternatives

Hi,
I need to record over some distance and in the field. Shouting into the phone is not preferable. I have a Samsung galaxy note 9 stock and galaxy buds (first version) and I was hoping to pair it with the note 9 but it did not work despite people saying it does. I found out that the camera app is is ver 10. It works with ver 11. I downloaded the apk but could not install it. Got this "there was a problem parsing the package". Maybe it is an android 11 and not 10.
Is there an app which I can use to record video and support bluetooth microphone over distance? I record in 4k. My setup is note 9, in phone companion mode to the pc and I stream the live to the monitor so that I can see the rear screen recording on the monitor. The monitor is also where my power point presentation is so that I know what I am talking about. Recording is limited to 5 min intervals at 4k 60fps. The phone runs hot and I have invested in a phone cooler too. If the phone is too hot, I cannot do recordings. After that, I need to remove the green screen in premier pro and use it premier rush where most of the editing is conducted. This is before taking into account reshoots. Looking at least 50 to 100 mins of teaching content output.
I have a spare S8, and wired microphone and thought of using that but I don't want wires mics or other devices getting in my way. I also want to spend as less time as possible editing the footage as I need to go through a lot of content and then put it all in the open learning platform. Also do more work there. All this in a month's time.
Thank you for the suggestions.
.
Searced a lot.Open camera has this option, but doesn't work Sometimes I managed it to work in combo with BT mono app.Till now only cinema fv-5 seems to work, but apps seems abandoned. If you found a solution please share.Forget fv-5.Videos are extremely giant for no reason.Just download lesser audio switch. It is abandoned, but somehow it works for me on A11 Just force route audio to BT before each video and you should be fine.
