5.1.1 root for n915g work but....

Seem like micky insecure kernel does make the root work great. But just wondering is there anyone also find the wifi wont auto connect anymore? I have to manually add them...
If you mean that the passwords are not saved the fix is in the kernel thread.
In build.prop change ro.securestorage from true to false.
Thank you ..it works. One more thing does anyone know how to disable that security notification after rooting other than disabling the whole smart manager? I try the notification setting unfortunately the smart manage do not have the block option.
Update: i think i found a soltion to this annoying security notification. Use titanium back up or root uninstaller to freeze security log agent.

Changing DNS for Wifi/3G/4G on Android 5.0

Hey I have a Sprint galaxy S5 and am interested in changing my DNS on not only wifi but 3G and 4GLTE connections as well. Is there any way I can do this? I have tried using Override DNS but it does not work for me.
Is there anyway I can manually change my DNS for my entire phone?
Or is there a better app for changing phone DNS for Android 5.0?
Have you rooted your device? That app needs root.
Yes My device is rooted. I currently am running the MOAR Root.
there is an app in playstore named setDNS. search for it it has the ability to change your devices dns. requires root

The only version on play store doesn't require root so it doesn't actually change 4G/3G and wifi DNS only the wifi DNS which can easily be done manually...

it does requires root.
This One : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.halosoft.needtools.setdns&hl=en
Reason for edit : added some more screenshots

According to the description it doesn't claim to work for 4G or 4GLTE.
best answer is practically install the app. if it works for you ..... bingo
if it doesn't just press uninstall. it doesn't cost anything.

I have the same problem. My S6 (nougat / magisk) drops any saved Wifi passwords as well as BT pairings and even saved passwords from other apps after a reboot (and sometimes even after a change within magisk but BEFORE the reboot)
EDIT: The passwords are still there, they are just treated as "wrong". So it could very well be a decryption problem.

Do you have a solution for this?
I unrooted, removed magisk and everything works normal again. Right now I am without root / adblock.
After some research it seems to be a problem with file permissions. Some people seem to have solved this by manually editing / correcting the permissions of several /system files. I haven't tried this so far.
I think, this thread should be moved to the magisk forum.
same problem
I have the same problem. Not solution for this yet?
Yeah that's why I downgraded to mm from day 1 I flashed nougat
Bump any fix to get WIFI PASSWORDS to stick and reconnect after reboot or disconnect of the wifi.
Current Setup
SM-G920P, rooted Magisk, Tdhite's kernel, and on da BiggDaddy Rom.
Also having this issue. Stock Nougat with Magisk. Also tried uninstalling Magisk but that just caused a boot loop. Tried changing ro.securestorage.support to false. Bluetooth also won't enable.

Go to /proc/config/wifi_mac/ and open the "ascii" file with a text editor that has root permission. Your WiFi Mac is on the left, your Bluetooth Mac is on the right. They are separated by commas. Change it, save it, reboot, profit. I suggest backing this file up, as there is no way to get it back.

If you're properly rooted, then its probably selinux. Try setting it to permissive. The command in terminal is "setenforce 0" no quotes. Try editing it after that. You can verify you're in permissive by checking the about phone section in settings. This works for me on LOS14.1 and stock 6.0.1.
Edit: Just checked, I can't directly copy the ASCII file with selinux in permissive, however, I can edit and save it though, and also copy the text in it, and paste it to a new text file.

Are you rooted? Lineage is not rooted by default. This is about the only thing that would prevent you from using root apps.

The su add-on has a problem being seen by rootexplorer. Flash either SuperSU 2.79 or magisk 12.0+. It will fix it. It's fine to flash over the su add-on. Never hurt anything in my experience. Also, don't forget to set selinux to permissive. Magisk has a permissive selinux module here on xda if you go with them.

Did you get a root prompt from magisk and also put selinux in permissive mode? If you use magisk you also have to install magisk manager. I can't imagine what the problem could be otherwise. I've used this method on two different ospreys without any issues.

How do you disable the wifi key encryption in wpa_supplicant?

I have tried to disable ro.securestorage.support in build.prop. does anyone have any methods of having the wifi keys no longer encrypted?
