Hi,
I am using O2 xda mini s, and i just bought a sony ericson HBH-DS970 stereo bluetooth earphones.
I am using WM6 Xplorer Rom and radio version 02.25.11.
Currently I am a bit frustrated with my bluetooth earphone as the quality is very poor eventhough I read that the quality of the sound if used with other bluetooth handphone / pocket PC is superb.
I have ben searching this forum to either tweaks the registry or any patch to improve the sound but currently I'm still lost. I found one old post (WM5) which guide us to tweaks -> HKLM/software/microsoft/bluetooth/a2dp/settings....
but my problem is that there is no settings folder under my a2dp, there are 4 folder with label 1,2,3,4.
Are there any way i can improve the sound quality???
will changing the radio rom affect the quality of bluetooth reception??
Please enlighten me..
Thanks

Try the settings from cduncan...
If there is no registry entry, you will have to manually put them.
You can change the bitpool setting for quality of music.
HTH
Cheers Sids,
I have already do as you said... previously went to that post but feel lost, and since the thread have over 100 pages, therefore i feel inappropriate to ask you or duncan.
One more thing though, can i ask you what is your personal preference on those settings?? I cant put a lot of bass, because it will sound terrible, like broken speaker.. what todo??
cheers mate
p/s My problem is that the quality of the sound that coming out of my BT earphone is just poor (although others are highly recommending this DS970). I have no problem with pairing it with my wizard or the playback.
I have play around with the BitPool and the only difference that I notice was the volume level, not the sound quality. any advice??
One more thing, is the selection of Radio Rom have any effect to the quality of the bluetooth signal i.e. to the output in my BT earphone??? Help...
Thanks again
Hi,
I cant say about your BT headsets. But I confirmed these things - Updated firmware from the manufacturer (Jabra for me) and the quality with other A2DP enabled (maybe nokia/SE) phone.
I have set my bitpool setting to 60 which is Farias default, but he placed the reg entry in AD2P folder instead of A2DP by mistake.
I am using equalizer settings with TCPMP for the nice sound, which I dont get with Windows Media Player. Maybe you could try that out.
Even after those settings and tweakings, I dont think BT headsets can replace wired headsets for an audiophile. You will only just get passable sound quality. Maybe its got to do with bandwidth that BT provides.
Lastly, I may be wrong, but Radio roms are only used for GSM radio. Its got nothing to do with BT.
Gurus, please correct me if I am wrong anywhere.
Sid
I'm using faria ROM Real Thing and using Oakley OROKR as my bluetooth stereo. But I have unusual problem. When I listen MP3 from pocket music 4.3.4 my OROKR produced a lag sound. Sometimes the sound was disapeared and suddenly back to normal again (with lag of course). I have try my OROKR with my PALM Treo 650 using A2DP s/w it's produced same quality like my MDA. Is this happen cause the registry setting or my OROKR problem? Help me?
PS: If I used OROKR to call it's 100% normal
For what it's worth, i have tested my plantronics pulsar 590a (bt ver2) with other htc devices with bluetooth ver 2 and audio was excellent. the wizard only has bt ver 1.2 and that is maybe where sound quality is lost. just a thought...
did you buy the headphones on ebay? Got mine on ebay and I was very disappointed with the sound quality. i checked online and, for my surprised, i discovered that what I got from ebay was a cheap fake. I bought a new set from sony shop and voila, they work perfect. Sound is amazing..with the SE k800i i am using from time to time. Couldnt get them to worjk with my xda2i tho
Does anybody has an experience with the sony ericson mw600 bluetooth headset? Is it fully functional?

A2DP is supported, hence you'll get stereo music. The music controls are working.
Not working:
1. Incoming calls only show phone number even you have their contacts
2. Track title does not show. Only a music symbol.

Sorry, With what program does it work? When i use internal (samsung?) music player control keys don't work! With other players it works fine. Same issues i experienced with other BT headset. So i think it's not a problem with this headset, it's a internal player's bug (feature?)

Music controls work fine with Nokia BH-503 (play/pause, back a track, forward a track) so I'm not sure why they wouldn't work with other headsets :S

I've had this same problem. Uninstall all other music players that you have on your phone. The controls should work after that.

3) Is there any audio quality problem? - refer to number one
4) someone say there is excessive treble while listening music is this true? - what type of music do you listen to? I suggest you to try it first before buying.
5) I am planned to buy these, so are you recommend these for samsung galaxy s! - Yes! I love it because it is easy to use, works on the stock player, long battery life and you can plug in your desired earphones.. I recommend IEM's

Hi there.. How bad is it and what specific problem do you experience?
This might be a problem specific to your Galaxy S version or your MW600 might be defective or just your ROM.
1) Have you experienced that on the stock rom?
2) Try to test your MW600 on other phones.
or better check with captivate owners on the proper forum.

Using it.
The phone functionality is OK. Talking & Voice quality is pretty good. Ringtone is only the sony default one though. Caller ID works.
The audio quality is so-so. The builtin amplifier of i9000 has much more juice than the MW600. I would advice against using large headphones with it. You can use any canalphones with MW600 and the quality should be OK. Track title does not work.

You said caller-id is working and you have the contact's name on the MW600 appearing correctly and not only the number showing?
If so, are you on froyo?
Thanks!

Here is my experience with the mw600:
1) Music sound quality is good. But often stops/jolts for a split second at the start of a song which gets quite frustrating. Call quality is good though!
2) No difficulty using it, although BT does drain battery fast as always.
3) See 1
4) I don't think there's excessive treble, but I use the stock player with bass eq so...

Hello I am using gal 3 apollo in Thailand and I have had a problem with some audio settings
Even with the 3.5 mm jack sound is not loud it seems they have locked the output for battery life somehow. And I just bought a New Nokia BH 505 Which is pretty clear . But When I connect it to my phone It has a weird like low quality sound as if the signal is not good. At first I thought it was range so I put it next to my BT still same and i even walked to the other room .. and it still sounded like that so signal is fine. I tried this BT on my Blackberry Full quality rich music the whole works so i know its the samsung. Most Probably The Codec Or Db Settings in The Service Mode of the Device. On galaxy S they Devloped Voodoo Sound Which is very Good From the Reviews I read.
I heard of a hack to increase output 3.5mm on a Spica in service mode but i didn't understand or know how to unlock this limit (if this is the Problem) I Alson See a Bluetooth Gain settings I have the link over here http://android.bigresource.com/Samsu...hl7LazklU.html. This Would be very great if someone knows how to fix this Thanks all.

Likewise, you could also try out the full version of PowerAMP.... It gives you very fine control and an easy EQ setting.
But to fully give out clear and loud music, the power output via 3.5mm port could be increased within a custom ROMs kernel setting, if I'm not wrong...
Thanks For The Help. I also Tried Power Amp It made it a very Cracked Sound. But As for the Codec And Audio Quality Yes I Also Think WE have to wait for a stable FW and Kernel then mod The Kernel like the Galaxy S's Voodoo Sound. I am Still Wondering about the samsung service mode. There are many setiings for heaset and bluetooth rx value tx value and the galaxy spica has a different config but they managed to fix the problem as in the first post. I am using Lest's CFW should I post this problem on his Thread. Thanks for the help Guys
Hi guys,
since the Update to 6.01, I have experienced, that the audio quality of the device (Android Auto, sound over USB) got worse.
I have a soundsystem in my car and I definetely hear the difference....
Somebody knows something that samsung changed something into the software in therms of sound quality?
Perhaps somebody have had a look into the code and see if samsung is doing some compression things or something like that...

I didn't like the sound quality in lollipop neither. What i've found is that if you push the phone volume all up it sound even worse, all distorted. Are you using it full volume? Try 75% on the phone and amp up your system gain instead
What I found out is, that I have set the dynamic range compression on in spotify, with turning it off, it sounds way better now....
Connected via usb directly to android auto capable head unit there is no chance to adapt things on the mobile, also no adaption of volume.... seems that sound directly gets bitwise transported to the head unit, so no dac involved etc.... Also adapt sound feature is not working for that.... I only have to be sure that the music gets directly transported to the usb, without compression from the music app etc....
Hello, basically my loudspeaker is broken so i bought new one, but it takes about 3-4 week to deliver. For that time i managed to change audio output for media to earspeaker but i would like to change also alerts(notification and ringtones) to play from earspeaker. I am using app called SoundAbout and there you can set alerts only for headsets and suff like that. I wonder if there is another way to completly swap speakers or something so i can hear when sbd is calling me.
I am using Xiaomi redmi note 4g, android 5.1.1. Thanks for every suggestion
