[Info] CyanogenMod is No More - General Topics

CyanogenMod is dead folks. Cyanogen Inc. have officially shut down all its services including their website.
Cyanogen Inc. announced that it is shutting down all of its services related to the Open Source Cyanogen OS Project. This is basically a death sentence for CyanogenMod as the services required by CyanogenMod are being shut down.
A group of defiant Cyanogen Developers have created a fork of the OS dubbed LineageOS. This is a sort of revival of CyanogenMod in a way. They have currently not released any builds of the Operating System as of this post.
This doesn't mean you cant go and make a fork of CyanogenMod for your device. Their Source Code will remain but Development will be forever halted.
What do you guys think of this announcement?

It is. But atleast some of the FORMER devs are willing to continue its legacy
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk

I've got an S3 I9300 with Archidroid/CyanogenMod ROM and the OS is EOL. and wonder where to go next when I have to. Even more so it is a headache what the next phone with an alternative OS will be?
Just hope LineageOS is taking off sooner than later.
Thanks to you DEVS for all the efforts!

Oh. Sad news to hear. What should phone owners with CyanogenMod do?

This is a very nice feature.

No, not as far as i know.
Reported the thread to be moved, pls follow the rules and open such threads at Q&A and not at development.
Read this if you don't know what should be at development and what not.
Edit: @draghiciandrei Better?
Nobody is perfect
I quoted it, because i also answered the question he wrote.
Why did you quote the OP?
Was that really necessary?
In my opinion you have to be a perfect poster before you can start giving advice.

Look, this is a question fitting this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561533
Is anybody working on it, isn't really a question about development process or product he's working on (or he missed to say it, then I sure will apologize), no matter how nice the feature is he is asking for, that's a feature request for the ROM he is using (and only for that one) or a question for Q&A for my opinion.
Gesendet von meinem Desire S mit Tapatalk 2
You're right!
I have to apologize.
It wasn't really a question about development process I'm working on.
Cause I'm not a Kernel developer. I'm just a dumb user.
So please Mod - delete this - close this - or what ever is necessary.
Maybe one of you guys could post this at the right place or give a developer a hint about that nice feature.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Next time I boot up my brain before I start posting or open a new Thread.
Not the right place, but an interesting question indeed. Lowveld is the kernel master over here maybe someone should PM him, since this is open source he could eventually add this really nice feature to his kernels. The other option is the Virtuous team but IMO they are not very responsive...
Thank for sharing anyway!

Used it on both aokp and CM9
Lovely killer feature but
Eats too much battery and if suspected of causing device lockups

Please can you confirm, if Sweep2Wake works only CM9 kernel or another too.
And which ?
Thanks.
Yes it does, the latest version was released with and without it, check out the CM9 thread

[ROMS] Unofficial Nightlies for Grouper (wifi)

Hello, I am not responsible for your device. If it bricks it is because of you and not me. I am in no way responsible for what you do.
Secondly, these are Droid-Hive Exclusive Download Links. Do not REPOST the download links on other sites. You can direct back here. If I see someone copys the download link somewhere else I will shut down the Nexus 7 nightlies.
Instructions:
Download from here: http://droid-hive.com/index.php?/topic/1474-roms-unofficial-nightlies-for-grouper/
install in recovery.
wipe if need be
reboot.
Finally have fun and spread the word. I will try to add ROMs that you request. I am mainly over at DH tho but I will do my best to maintain this over here.
These are all untested builds. I currently don't own a Nexus 7 but I received a lot of interest from Users in my galaxy nexus thread about bringing this to the Nexus 7.
All the credits go to the Developers of each respective ROM. I take no credit for the ROMs themselve just for building them and hosting them for your convenience. I will do my best to update these ROMs at a fast pace for all the crack flashers. Thank you again for your understanding of what this thread is and have a nice day.

Nice, thanks for Xylon 19, will check it out via muiti boot. Dax and the Xylon team does awesome work.
Edit: Xylon Settings force closes making the ROM basically useless. Lock screen settings work cause they are part of the Settings.apk.
Well I'll build xylon again today. Hopefully they fixed whatever the issue is.

I know your building quite a few ROMs here, but why aren't you testing them? That is something that would be quite noticeable if you tested it. Not bashing, just wondering.
Honestly I don't own a nexus 7 lol I had a lot of members on DH ask me to do nightlies for it. Also nightlies are always beta. Stuff will be broken.

It says what all other threads say, doesn't mention that they are untested. I think the OP could use a bit of an update to mention that and also more of what this is and also maybe credits and/or a link to the original thread. Request Xylon builds for your device here!

The title says it all.
In case you don't know what Xylon is, it is a semi-minimalistic custom ROM that is designed to be experimental. It is often the fastest ROM you can get on a device, with almost no bugs...
So yeah.
Rules for requests:
You must be able to test for me, or you must find a person with the device to test for me.
There must be an existing android 4.2.2 aosp rom for your device.
If you donate, your request will be attended to first, otherwise, it is first come first serve and thanks amount of the request.
I cannot guarantee to port Xylon to every device requested although I will try.
Currently on my agenda:
I9100 status: built, sent to tester fixing
HTC HD2: Built, sent
Samsung fascinate
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Samsung Captivate i897
Galaxy ace: Ill deal with armv6 later...
Devices already ported to (look for it in original development or development):
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III
Nexus s
TF101 (unreleased, just request if you want)
Finally, if I have ignored your request for greater than two weeks, it doesn't mean I hate you, it just means that the request breaks one of the rules, or I just overlooked it.

Hi i would love for regular development of Samsung Galaxy S II I9100, Fuss132 did bring out a beta, which was a great ROM (apart from broken bluetooth & no wi fi tether), a few days later an update was released, but it had to be removed due to soft bricking of devices.Since then there has been nothing.I realize Fuss is busy with other projects, but i would love to use this rom all the time if it was updated for my device.I am willing to test.
Could you port it to Samsung Galaxy Ace? It's a mid range phone, but it has 4.2.2 CM10.1 but not AOSP.
I hope you'll be able to.

Well first off, our processor isn't up there yet, but it will be here. They just started releasing source codes on November 1st. Second off its not just about asop and CM it's about being able to fine tune our custom kernels and current TW Roms. Also we will be able to create custom bootloaders for those models that have locked bootloaders that don't allow rooting.

Because of our processor. CM has no plans on working on or developing for the note 5. Unless a Dev takes on the project, that will be the only way we will see CM on our device.

That is your opinion. There are plenty other people who would disagree with that. ASOP and CM are the most popular alternatives to TW based roms. I, myself would love to see MIUI on my note 5, but that's not gonna happen.
