just put in another carriers sim card in the phone, it will ask you for a sim unlock code.

Wishing you all a good luck , please can anybody help me first i have unlocked my samsung captative with FastGsm softi i got code and it worked for some days like week, then when i installed the apps from market it got re-locked agian, i thought because of installing app so i factory reset the mobile.
after doing some hardwork i got rooted with superclick 1.7 and root the mobile and got unlock code and also sgs unlock from market both the software gave me same unlocking code when i am entering the code with different sim carrier it is not accepting the code.. please can any body help me what to do reply me as oon as possible

Yes, you need your IMEI number in order to get the correct unlock code for your phone. You can find unlock codes either on Ebay or third party sites online for pretty cheap.

I'm new here as you can see,this is my first post.,
I bought a Motorola Droid 2 Global from ebay(india) and I'm from India itself,but the phone is locked,what should I do in order to unlock it to use any sim card?i cannot contact verizon and I know that there are some sites which can provide unlock codes.,but without verizon and some sites,is there anyway to unlock it,i was suggested to use a custom ROM at DM but I've seen in other forums that using cROM did not help at all.So,are tgere anyone who can help me.
Btw,i've found two other threads related to this,but still I sarted a new thread hoping that there are new solutions cuz the threads I've found are quite old.Thanks.

I have the same problem and there is no a solution yet. There are some Droid 2 from Verizon that cannot be unlocked because Verizon changed the codes.
Someone says that using TurboSIM the phone can works but I've never tried.
I had to return my phone to USA and try to sell it on ebay as locked.

I recently bought an Alcatel OT 991 and it seams to be locked by Orange and i can`t use any other provider.
My question it is,if i can unlock this phone and how.On Google i just found some websites that are selling some unlocking codes,but i don`t trust them. This is the reason why i`m writing this post.

my phone is locked on orange too, i bought 2 codes from 2 different sites , but they were wrong...although i get refunds....I read on a forum that it can not be unlocked by imei.... so waiting for a miracle :angel:
