Hi,
Is there an application that allows your phone to always stay in 2G mode, and only switch to 3G/3.5G mode if the following conditions are met:
an application needs a data connection (even if you have to make a list of applications that are allowed to use 3G/3.5G this is acceptable)
3G/3.5G is available
I've come across apps like GProfile, CommManagerPro and Bandswitch, but I'm not sure that they can do this.
Please help
many thanks,
sat
There's another: WMLongLife http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478519
Doesn't seem to work consistently with HD2, and when it switches bands, there's a dropout period when neither data nor phone works. Not ideal...
I'm waiting for this dream app too, and my money's on BandSwitch.
Whitelist Apps
WMLongLife is way too complicated....
Bandswitch..... just lack the options to allow us to select "Whitelist" Process..
With this some apps will not be persistently turned off on idle connection.
(i.e. Wifirouter)
Hi all, I have a problem I hope you can help me solving.
In my house I have a light 3G signal and a good 2G signal. Anyway my provider (H3G) prefers 3G networks.
This is a problem because, if I do not remember to switch in 2G when I'm inside my house, I am unreachable or, while talking, my phone switches network (10-20 seconds silence).
I know, it should be so easy to switch in 2G mode hen I'm inside my house... but I often forget it.
So the question is: is there any application allowing me to automatically switch in 2G mode when I am connected to a particular cell?
I tried a lot of "Profile Switchers", they do work, but they cannot control 2G/3G toggle.
Do you know some SW able to do it?
Very tanks!
nobody can 'help me"?
just search "switch network" in the market

Click to collapse
Tanks, but switch network is only manual shotcut
According to developers it's not possible to do this without root due to a limitation in the SDK.
Look up the application Tasker
Tanks man. Very interesting application. But unfortunately does not allow the switch network 3g>2G :-(
Is't possible to insert a "data switch On/Off" in those already present in the ICS system tray notifications?
Dont think so. The closest thing is probably airplane mode.
Airplane mode is valid choice but i want preferably option for turn on/off mobile data connection only
Well i dont have a 3G device, so I cant confirm this but... You can turn on wlan while airplane mode is active, without disabling airplane. Doing that should keep your mobile connection off, while still allowing you to use wlan.
Its possible some custom rom have a 3G setting you can add to the toolbar. EOS got a lot of different options you can add, but as far as I can see, no 3G.
Hello All,
For older phones you use to be able to access the mobile data connection strings that tells the phone how to connect to the network and initiate a mobile data connection for ie. allowing you phone to brows the internet over a mobile data carrier and not Wi-Fi.
I hope I've explained that well.
What I want to know is if there is a section in an android phone, maybe the developers section, that I can change so that the mobile data portion of the phone will not be able to connect. I'm not looking for the normal data on/off in the settings as that can be changed at will, this would be something that not just anyone would be able to access to change. I do have a programming background so I should understand what your responses are but just need some direction.
I'm not quite sure where to put this so I thought this place would be good but let me know if it is not.
Thank you in advance.
I'm facing a new weird problem at my X5 iv
i used NordVPN at all my other Xperia devices with Android 10 and 11 to watch peacock on my phone outside of U S
now with my Android 12 Xperia 5 iv and the same setup of NordVPN and peacock i get the error message from peacock
“It looks like you don’t meet the US roaming rules”
if i ckeck my ip it says I'm in U.S. but the peacock app keeps the error and not working
whats the problem if it's not working on Android 12 only.?
wow nobody has a single thought here
Contact Peacock ( NBCUniversal's streaming service ) or NordVPN.
i did at Play store for NordVPN app already.
and if its working with A10 and A11 they point the finger over to A12.....there must be something at A12 that lets Peacock app checking my location no matter what i use on VPN.
normally without VPN i shouldn't be able to login at all.....but that works just to play a video getting blocked.
even there website isn't available with NordVPN connect
on Opera or Dolphin browser.
i checked my IP and it says I'm in Missouri but
they must use some back door on Android to detect I'm not physically in U S.
just found this
Why Get Messages “It looks like you don’t meet the us roaming rules” even after using a VPN?The error message “it looks like you don’t meet us roaming rules” is not due to any Plan you are subscribed to, Peacock, or the VPN service. The Peacock app on your device will look into the SIM card data, and if that detects the SIM data is from another country, it shows the error message saying you don’t meet the US roaming rules. If the SIM network is not in the US, the application will not work, and it shows the error even if you are using a VPN with a US server.
and i fixed the problem by used peacock in flight mode with wifi
How to Fix the US Roaming Error on Peacock TV?Yes, how to bypass us roaming rules peacock error. To fix these peacock streaming problems, enable your device’s flight mode and connect to the wifi network. Then connect to the US server on your VPN app and enjoy the Peacock service without any issues.
You can also do the same by removing the SIM card rather than enabling the flight mode, but enabling Flight mode is more straightforward than removing the SIM card.
The issue happens due to the SIM card, and you can use the Peacock app on any SIM-less devices like Tab, Android TV, Fire TV, etc., with VPN without any issue.
