I don't know exactly which model will support dual sim. But i know the brands like Huawei, ZTE, Samsung they have a big chance to support dual sim on the phones (but still don't know which model exactly)
Hauwei mate 7 what do u think of this phone?
My Sony C3 supports duel sims and I found it is good to use!
This is my second day with HAM7. I was a hardcore Samsung stickmann for years. For this dual SIM feature I went for the mate 7, from the first time I switched up this phone I found this headset is unique in away. Now I'm more wanting to see the mate 8 than the note 5 :'(
Huawei... strange name with a strong magnet
I am debating if I should sell my Huawai Mate 8 NXT-L10. It is Mocha and full spec. I installed the International ROM, but considering getting the NXT-29 so I don't have to worry about OTA and such.
I don't speak/read Chinese and notice that the Chinese ROM still has messages that show up in Chinese despite English language setting. On the international ROM, I don't come across Chinese at all.
Trying to decide if I should sell my chinese one and just get the international one. I am in San Francisco, and bought directly in China with receipt, so don't think hard to sell. But getting international version seems difficult.
Thoughts? Are there any other differences between AL10 and L29?
nope, just software and 1 different supported LTE band, thats about it: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9878/the-huawei-mate-8-review
if its too much hassle to manually install the software and if u absolutely HAVE to have the latest OTA at the time point of release then yeah, go for the L29
Keep Chinese ROM
I'd personally keep the Chinese firmware for a while. The only thing I'm waiting for is rooting my beast to be able to remove some of the built in Chinese crapware I don't understand.
If I'm to wish for something, I'd want a Mate 8 with Nexus Android with nothing at all but the OS and Google apps. Unfortunately, all the Nexus phones I am aware of have no SD card support which for me is fundamental even with my Mate 8 (128 GB internal memory)

I want too. I wonder if that ROM will ever make it.
I think there is no 64/128 gb version of the L29.
64/4gb versions have popped up already, havent seen any 128 models though

That is the strange thing. I have been reading an excellent post here h_ttp://anandtech.com/show/9878/the-huawei-mate-8-review under Introduction and Design, and it seems there is no 128 GB overseas version!
That's because 128gb model is China exclusive

Ok, that is what I thought, but a question comes to my mind which is: Even if we could flash the overseas ROM on the Chinese device, will this work fine or would there be some features that won't work or HW failures or malfunctions? Personally, I'm OK with the Chinese version and happy to receive OTA updates, all I want is a root access to remove the unwanted applications.
By the way, I updated my NXT-AL10C00B137 to NXT-AL10C00B156 and I haven't noticed any bug or issues. I am not rooted and have the stock firmware. I live in Italy and I updated over WiFi.
once u root u lose capability of receiving OTA updates.
ive been on an international rom B133 from day one without any issues and im on the chinese model AL10 theyre so similar, almost identical in their hardware, that crossflashing roms doesnt seem to be a problem.

The differences between AL10 and L29 could be that AL10 has Dual SIM active and L29 has dual SIM standby.

What is the difference between active sim and standby sim? Also, is there a difference for certain versions keeping some Chinese?
That's not true. L29 is also Dual SIM active. There is no difference in Dual Sim function between AL10 and L29.

Dual SIM standby: you can have 2 SIM cards but only use one at a time.
Dual SIM active: you can have 2 SIM cards and use them simultaneous f.ex. make a call on one card and surfe the net on the other or surfe the net on one card and receive a call on the other card.
There are 3 versions of Mate 8.
2 universel : one with dual SIM standby and one with single SIM: m.huawei com
1 chinese with dual SIM full active: etotalk com
I would say that NXT-AL10 is the best one - also most expencive.

Take a look at GSMARENA, they can tell you otherwise.
knudknud3
I don't have to check it on GSMARENA because i have got this phone and I know, how it works. Do you have this phone or just distribute false information? I have got L29 C432 and everyday I use Dual Sim active functionality.
You'd better go to shop and check it personally.
On internet portals like gsmarena there is lots of errors in specs. Those webs are not reliable sources of any specs informations.
EDIT:
look at this thread and read it from beginning to the end, if you don't believe me:

Of course I believe you. But that thread is saying nothing. Copycat is only confirming. Grofock is talking about AL10 (to me the real DSA/DSDA phone). Tsiglas is not explaining understandable (to me).
I hope you can explain to me in simple words, how you can do two different things AT THE SAME TIME on your phone. Please.
I've asked you to read this thread till the end... copysat AND tsiglas confirm, that L29 is Dual Sim Full Active. I confirm it too AS L29 OWNER. We know what we say, because we have got this phone.
It seems, that you have never had this phone, but you insist that L29 is not Dual Sim Active, because you have read about it on the website.
3 persons having this phone confirm, it is DS active, but you still says it means nothing....So i'm sorry, but I think there is no method to explain you anything, because it is impossible, that you can understand something more.
To the author of topic: don't listen to knudknud3. L29 and AL 10 have the same Dual Sim Active functionality. I confirm that as an European L29 owner.

I am sorry, but can you at least tell me, where I can buy a phone like yours.
I can see that Honor 8 has Hybrid SIM slot in all variants released till now.
Will the Indian version of Honor 8 and Honor 8 Smart have capability to accept dual sim?
The reason why I'm interested in knowing this is that Honor 7 has Dual Sim enabled in some variants.
But when it came to Indian Variant, it was having only Single Sim enabled.

We have shown our dissatisfaction on Honor 7 when it got released with single sim already.
Even though Honor 5X is less powerful than Honor 7, i switched from 7 to 5X bcos of dual sim compatibility. Especially for 3 card slot design.
They need to keep the 3 card slot design in all devices.

The 3 card slot design in Honor 5X can be incorporated in all models I think. That's the best way to reduce the customer dissatisfaction towards the good mobile.
Especially in India, where people are trying JIO 4g network for the first time, they dont want to lose their primary SIM.

I have heard that the new mate 9 dual sim does not support full-active operations like the earlier mate 8 ?? did any one hear such a thing or those who got their hands on a dual sim set please clarify this issue ??
Me too.....Waiting for clarification !!
No,mate 9 dual sim standby not as mate 8.
I don't know why huawei stopped this function.
This reason make me ignore huawei mobile from my shopping list in future.
I feel sorry that i bought the mate 9 as replacement of mate 8 but i decided to go back and use mate 8 for dual sim full active function.

As someone who has no previous experience with Huawei phones, what does this even mean? Does this imply that you won't be able to receive calls from one simcard unless it's set as the active sim?
There are two changes apparently. The first is, you can (finally, since I live in Japan and need this) be on WCDMA standby on BOTH sims.
The negative change is, if you're in a call, you can't receive any call on the second sim.

A dual sim full-active phone you can be on a call on sim1 and you can still receive a 2nd call on the other sim2 by putting the first call on hold and answer the 2nd call, finish with it and return to your sim1 caller.
Also, if you use sim1 for calls and sim2 for data and you are in the middle of a download session you can still receive a call on sim1 without interrupting your data session on sim2
This is the only limitation with the mate 9 double sim capacity???
...don't understand what you mean, both my cards are active but obviously, you can't use them simultaneously ...

This is what it says in the dual sim call forwarding setting. See attached screenshot. Personally I am very happy with the whatsapp clone option, that is really nice dual support for work/private, because whatsapp is used a lot in my work and private network.

Please, give us facts.
From my info, sim menu in Mate 9 Pro (Lon-L29) has same call forwarding option as Mate 9 has. There is also same text in user manual.
For example, Mate 8 (really DSDA) does not have this option, cause it is useless on that device.
P.s. I don't know about LON-AL00 version. May be chinese model has DSDA. Need to clarify.
But, unfortunately Mate 9 MHA-AL00 is same as MHA-L29, so last chance left...
So can someone actually confirm if Huawei Mate 9 PRO is "Active" or "Standby" dual sim?

From my LON-L29 (mate 9 pro). It looks exactly the same of mate 9
It's stand by on mate 9. Buy a mate 8 of you want that feature. Huawei sold us all by making that phones stand by.
I already complained on huawei's facebook page and all of you should do the same.

But they have capability of call forward between the 2 SIMs so you will not miss any call but still your data transmission will be stooped if you have active call !!!!

For a start it has twice as much internal storage and the Gold be it 32GB or 64GB is limited to certain countries.
And of course the higher price cost, but on the whole same device as the 32GB dual sim..
