Hi, I was discussing with some Mate 8 owners, and we discovered that by typing the code *#*#2846579#*#* in the dial you can get system info... Well everyone of them got hardware version NEXT_L29_VN2 (and you can find it in Google if you search for it) while I got a strange NEXT_L29_VN1_3 that give absolutely no result on google... Someone got an idea why?

I'm looking into buying an Asus P535 phone, but the only place it is available is Hong Kong. However I have been told the phone might not actually have an English OS installed.
I was interested in finding out how easy it would be just to install a new English OS for the phone? Do I have to obtain this from Asus themselves or can I just install a generic phone OS that is English?

No such thing as 'generic phone OS'. All windows mobile ROMs (that's what they are called and its a bit of long story why) are specifically tailored for the devices.
I am not sure if there is an English ROM for 535 but there was a discussion on this here so please use the search.
Also check the Asus site.
I have looked around and found a few questions regarding the English ROM but no definative answers. I suppose in itself that could be an answer.
I'm going to get the white version so I'm gonna have to buy from HK anyway, but if theres no English ROM then there is no way I am gonna be able to use it. I cant even find an email address to be able to ask Asus if one is available or when one will be available. If anyone can help me then I would be grateful.

I have bought 2 Asus P535 (1 white and 1 Dark Grey) in Singapore.
Both of them is in English. Here's my headache : I cant read chinese sms (it show's squares...)
If you dun require to read chinese or type chinese should not be a problem.

This question might have been covered here before, I tried searching, read bunch of threads, but couldn't find specifically what I'm looking for.
A friend of mine, ordered one of those Chinese iPhone clones to see what they are all about, and now I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to get rid of the OS that's on it and (if possible) maybe install Android OS on it.
Looking for some suggestions on how to get it done, if its possible to do so at all.

Please post here if you find out anything. I'm interested in the possibility of upgrading Android on new Sharp phones. Especially if this can help use the gadget (not really a keitai) on another operator, not just DoCoMo.
Don't know if it's locking or just plain incompatibility, but the IS01/SH-10B seems to be stuck with 1.6 and the Netwalker, for example, with Ubuntu 9.04. Same thing goes about older devices running WM.
IS01 has been rooted.

With hardware specification you give, i think it's maybe the GooApple G22 (but with clone it's a bit dfficult because many model exist...), and as is an androphone, you can normally install clockwork mod recovery and flash it to android 3.2 (as i've read for the G22 model).
But before doing anything, be sure what hardware you have exactly otherwise you may brick you phone !!

Sorry but there is too much models with this specifications ... a lot use the ARMv6 ... and there is no relevant infos on your pics ... nothing found about freesoft21.
When you buy it, wich name have the phone ?? (they have always a name).
Unfortunately, where I had ordered a phone model has seen fit to send me another model and then disappeared.
I find it unusable as a phone

Can you check this video and follow it, let me know if you arrive to activate english.
If your menu is not the same, try to do that :
Type this : *#0044# then press SEND button
This must Set Language to English

I would try to do a backup and try updating.
give me some instructions on what to do?
I know it would be alot of work and research, but you could go to YouTube and watch all the different videos on all the iphone clones and try to see which one your phone looks and operates like. Could be a shot in the dark or it could tell you what you have. Best of luck.

All IMEI's everywhere ( box, system-info at the settings and *#06#) had been the same.
But...
The S/N at the 3 Infosides (box, system-info at the settings and *#06#)
Hasn't even been the same.
Then I've flashed a new ROM and know I'm not at home, but I've checked the Infos at System-Info and the *#06#.
I think they are both the wrong S/N which isn't written at the Box.
But...
There is a wrong format in this S/N.
Questions are nice, and answers more nice.
What do you know about where is the S/N written and so on.
Not in the ROM, I know.
Maybe in the Bootloader?
Even this things I got to know.
I wanna know, what did the seller sell to me and what did he does.
