HI Guys,
I am really tired of my Surface Pro 4 already. It's hardly been a month. I had bought it with Windows 10 Pro. Now when the anniversary update hit, I downloaded and installed.
Since then, things have been only going downhill.
Firstly, the SOUND is gone.
I have to go to Device Managers every time, and uninstall the drivers and then reboot.
What do you know, it works fine.
But I have to do this EVERY TIME.

Recently bought one of these, already own a samsung galaxy phone with android. When I got it, it had an app already installed called system update, I ran this and updated the machine. it now stands at
model number...deb
firmware...2.1 update 1
kernel version...2.6.32.9
build number...deb-r2.1.1561
not sure what these were before i ran the update, i just thought it would run better if it had the latest updates installed.
the problem i am having is that everything seems to work ok, but i am unable to play any car or steering related games on it. i went onto the android market and downloaded raging thunder lite, which i have installed on my galaxy phone, but when the game starts the car steers itself to the left and you have to literally turn the tablet 360 degrees to get a slight response from it. the orientation works ok on the menu screens and in the market app as it turns itself right as you rotate the tablet. its just the gaming side that i am struggling with.
is it the firmware update that has caused this as this is what the seller is trying to say, if so is there any way of uninstalling the update.
i have tried factory reset through settings, privacy and factory data reset but htis doesnt seen to have done anything.
Any help would be most welcomed...
Hello,
I read in some posts that there are some users of the Samsung Ative 500T that they are running Windows 8 Pro. I was unable to post a reply in the forum, so here is my question: How do you do it???
I tried using an existing / unactivated key for a win8 upgrade I had purchased. (The tablet is running Windows 8, BTW). After choosing "add features to Windows8" and entering the key (determined to be valid), the system would run through the upgrade process, then quit with the generic response of "there was a problem encountered".
I spent over an hour on the phone with Microsoft Tech Support - the even generated a new key, as well as running a remote repair. All to no avail.
I'm looking for suggestions or ideas as to what I need to do.
Thanks in advance for your time.
I did the same thing you did and it worked without a problem. (I had purchased an extra Win 8 Upgrade key while they were still only $39).
A couple of thoughts:
1. Did you have the tablet plugged in when you did the upgrade? If not make sure it's plugged in, and change the power setting so that the tablet won't go to sleep while it's on AC.
2. I've noticed some strange behavior with the tablet when it's docked versus undocked. When I first tried to make a recovery USB key it kept failing. After 3 or 4 tries, I removed the tablet from it's dock, and then I was able to make the recovery USB key without a problem If you have a keyboard dock, try doing the upgrade with the tablet in and out of the dock to see if it makes any difference.
3. I uninstall most of the bloat ware on this tablet including Norton. You might have a program installed that is interfering with the upgrade.
hy guys. today i tried to install NBA2k14 on my s2 plus. as the install took a longer time then i was used to, i switched off the phone while the instalation of the game was still running. when i turned on the phone the samsung logo was a longer time on the screen and after that the android update screen appeared, in the same way when you upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 without wipe. some applications were updated and after that the phone was ok. so, my question is: why the phone updated some applications? i just turned the phone off while instalation of NBA2K14 was still in progress.
PS: sorry for the long post. i hope i made myself clear about the problem. and ayway, the game didn't run at all even if at the second try the instalation completed succesfully.
I do not know why it updated. But maybe you had downloaded an available update earlier. That can be a reason to it. And now this game. It's basketball right? I have no idea but it seen to be a big game like FIFA or NHL. Did you buy it or download free from a random website?

Hi,
I would like to know how to stop forced update to Windows 8.1 on Surface RT?
I get a blue pop up on Surface RT Windows 8, that is going to force me to update to 8.1.
I am happy with Windows 8, and would like to turn off this automatic update.
It is giving me increasingly limited options from a few days, down to a few hours now, to delay it, and will probably be forced on me next time I turn it on.
I need to disable this now, before I don't have the choice anymore. Please help!
I have received the same notification, that 8.1 will be installed the next time I restart...
Another user posted a write on his experience with this (awful) automatic upgrade:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...downgrade-rt-8-1-to-8-0-t2820217/post54314921
But to specifically answer your question you have to hide two updates as tonystuck described in the post:
ps/. finally nailed down the culprit: kb2973544. automatic upgrade to 8.1 ***without prompt***. is this even legal???
ps2/. if you don't want to upgrade to 8.1 too, uninstall and hide updates kb2885699 (nag screen), kb2871389 (nag screen and store). it seems that kb2973544 can't work without these 2 updates already installed.

I got lucky and caught this happening and stopped it. Then I found his post. I hid the updates as described and it hasn't attempted the "upgrade" since. So glad the nagging is gone too...
I found out that my windows decided to upgrade from home to enterprise and I enabled HyperV, when I restarted it it was pro and remains like that witch is not bad.
