Has anyone found a fix for the landscape playback of videos in miui (brainmaster's too), when they should be in portrait (even after having just been filmed in portrait mode)?
i want a fix too, the only thing for me that have to be fixed on MIUI
When ever I try watching a movie with any video player the entire phone freezes, not sure if is a Miui thing - anyone else experience the same thing when trying to play downloaded movies?

Probably an overclock problem as video is very CPU taxing.
Try setting it to 1Ghz while watching videos.
Im having difficulty watching videos in default browser or dolphin. The video does not completely load. Most of the time i can only play half of the clip then stops and tries to load/buffer the other half but it wont. Netflix and youtube streaming through the apps are ok. Is there anyway to fix this?
probably something wrong with thr video stream

My personal favourite video player is Dice Player. Install it from the Play Store.
(or you can try MX Player, which was my previous favourite video player)
Both of the played almost every kind of video format that I had.
Hope this helps.

no problem, glad to help.
I also see the bar at the very bottom of the screen. I don't think it can be removed.(at least I haven't found out how to do it yet)
From my experiences with the SGT2, i would prefer MX Player. Had some troubles with viedo quality using Dice Player.

You need to give more info, from where are you trying to watch it? How is the video acting? Just nothing, or terrible skipping, jumping, force close? Is the video flash? If it is, have you dowoaded adobe flash player?
Try watching the video with Chrome (the internal browser), on my Xoom, it plays the videos much better than the other browsers.

Does not seem to be a common issue.
Check settings on your device related to display, video playing, etc.

Everything looks good in settings, I've also tried reaching out to Amazon support, but they are no help!

why are you so sure that it isn't playing in HDR? I mean it says HD right below the selection
from my knowledge If it's says HDR it's displaying in HDR.
