Purchased my LG Flex 2 H950 2 months ago to upgrade from the Flex 1 and have run into various overheating issues and my display seems to crash with just one line on the screen then decides to come back on its own after 3-5 minutes, when the display does crash the phone still seems to work perfectly though, will receive calls play music, sometimes even 1/4 of the screen comes back first before the whole screen comes back, was wondering if else has run into this issue and if it might be software related? I am suspecting bad video card however recently using this forum I found the Ghost Pepper governor and the EX Kernel Manager program which I have used to underclock the phone during hot periods and so far..no crashes yet, called LG though and didn't get much help there as I don't have the receipt for the phone
I have experienced this. Mainly on hot days in the car
Just overheating I guess, it happened less than five times and doesn't seem to do it anymore.
It happend few times on my h955. I'll probably will send it to LG for repair.

ah I wonder how much they would charge? I got mine off ebay so I'm pretty stuck for a warranty now.....but positive news, still using EX Kernel Manager set governor to on demand now keeping all 8 cores on w/max 1500mhz for the 4 big cores and still no crashes, underclocking might not be the real fix but if you don't have a warranty might make our phones last a few years still without sending it in
Mine have warranty so no problem for me. Ill send it becose i want to sell it soon. Btw LG don't often do amoled screens, and we can see it clearly here. Bad screen backlight, stripes on gray and now this kinda crashes.

hello, may I notice from my xperia very hot when I browse in 3g. yet I do anything huge, I'm on facebook instagram and other apps of this kind. I kitkat was then I passed in 4.3 but I still have that problem, and the same when I charge and I use it. if you have any solutions thank you in advance
I have the same problem on 4G. I guess that overheating during charging migt be expected
I see there has been no activity on this thread since September 2014, but I too have the same problem with my xperia M2:
both on 3G and 4G the phone is overheating, even though I only do some browsing, or Facebook scrolling....
The overheating is not happening when on wireless.
The phone is currently running 4.4.4, and it is rooted
Anyone has a fix for this?
Its gonna get warm. I've seen 37c on my phone. That's why Sony throttled the chip to 1.2htz to stop it over heating. It's near the camera I think. Lots of other factors like the screen brightness, is it in a case, do you get good reception and how much is running in the background. Personally I don't think you have owt to worry about unless you over clock it.

ok. thanx for the tips.
the idea is that I only have the phone for about one week, so I wasn't very sure if that heating (you're right - around the camera) was normal.

That overheating is expected I guess. I discovered that it usually overheats when theres a lot of background processes and also while charging. But sometimes the middle-top part of the screen also overheats a lot and it feel like dangerous. Really u can nearly hurt your finger when you scrolling down Facebook. I guess that's just the way M2 is built so there's no fix for overheating. Maybe of u under volt the chip, then it will save battery and probably won't be overheating anymore but the speed would be greatly reduced.

I see...
Besides the fact that the overheating is rather uncomfortable, if there is no harm done to the device, I can leave with it.
I googled the problem and it seems that the overheating is indeed a common problem for Xperia M2.
I just hope not to damage the device on the long term.

It'll be fine fella I regularly get 6hrs+ screen on time I'm always on my phone and so far all is good 9mths on. And as the back is plastic n not glass as on the z range so no sudden cracking of the back.

Mine gets nearly 58 Celcius while charging and browsing on the internet. If not charging and just browsing gets nearly 40 Celcius. Around the camera for me too

MAybe nougat android 7 this month
I agree on the speakers being way to low. I'm not sure how that aspect of it passed testing
I'm in the UK and everything is fine with my platinum XZ.
I might buy one in each colour this phone is so good and it's great for audiophiles.
Low speakers sound is in dual sim version , it should be solved in next update

I do hope your right as I like this phone. I came from a s7 edge and I loved that phone but dam that screen is hard to protect. So I opted for this which is 130 cheaper which similar specs and I'm happy so far just those speakers making me feel like a bit of regret so I hope they fix them
Ring ,alarm and phone hearing very are all very low.
I have just received my new Xperia XZ phone, very lovely but I am having the following issues with it:
1) The ringtone is very low, in the two days I have had, got lots of missed calls, because could not hear the call.
2) The alarm sound is also very low, what is helping is the vibration.
3) I struggle to hear the person I am speaking to on the phone, the hearing is very low.
How could I be helped here?

Some people say there are a bad batch of xz out there that have this issue. Not sure if that's true or not but apparently some people replaced theirs with a new one and the sound was just fine.
Hi all,
I'm shouting out just to see if anyone has experienced GPS symptoms like mine.
I installed the Nougat update (via LG UP I think). I then even hard reset once Nougat was installed.
Now when I use GPS in driving apps like Maps or Waze, it loses the gps lock and searches for location quite frequently.
I even downloaded the GPS Status app and did a cold start and refreshed my agps data etc...
I'm pretty sure I had no issues before the upgrade (but I also recently went on a long road trip whereas I don't normally drive which could have accentuated the dormant issue) so was just curious if this has happened to anyone else?
I'm familiar with some hardware G5 GPS issues so before I contact Verizon or LG I figured I would just see if anyone has had any post Nougat GPS issues.
Thanks,
T
I have the same issue. It is very annoying. Hopefully they sort this out.
Strange, could possibly be a coincidence and is the hardware failure finally setting in, but the timing sounds a bit suspicious..
Yes, I've got the same thing since the nougat update along with a host of other problems that I'll bring up in another thread. Ok, I'll touch on them here, but start a new thread rather than thread-Jack. Since the nougat update I have four noticeable problems, the NAV issue being one of them. Two other minor annoyances and one big one. When I plug in a fast charger, oem or not (I have several), I frequently get TWO notifications, one that says slow charge and one that may say charge, or fast charge. If I unplug and replug, everything is fine. I've also been getting ghost images when I change screens. Also, my multitude of Bluetooth headsets (mostly LG) have become unusable for phone calls. Fine for streaming audio, but unuseable for calls. All these problems started after the nougat update. I did a factory reset with no change. Verizon is going to send me a new phone. If it's not on nougat, I'm NOT going to update it! I was very happy with my phone until I got the update, now I'm just frustrated. When Google/LG/Verizon fix the bugs, then I'll update! Right now I'm just aggravated with the whole thing.
D Dave
my also having same problem ....
fyi, I ended up contacting Verizon and they eventually escalated me to tier 2 and the tier 2 guy said it was a rare known issue to have a hardware gps issue and he said to swap the unit. Since I wasn't under warranty with them I contacted LG and will send it in to them.
..same issue
@up
What does "swap the unit" means?

@MARCIN2M - It means they were willing to send me a new phone in exchange for the old phone.
Update... I got my phone back from the LG repair center. It's the same phone I sent them (same serial number). On the very sparse notes that came in the box, it said they re-flashed the memory. I don't know exactly what was meant by that. GPS seems to work now.

Hi, were you able to find out what flashing your phone means?
Sorry tase25, I'm not sure. My gps is still working great even today.
Hello guy,
First of all I'd like to say sorry for creating new thread because I want to ask all questions to the user here.
I try some deep research and see that only Sprints user didn't receive Marshmallow while other like H950, F510 are receiving it.
Anyway the main reason why I'm here is to ask more details about this device and its problem such as, Overheating, High Brightness, Boot loop, Battery. I'm going to buy this phone.
For the Overheating and High Brightness, I've just want to ask if update to Marshmallow will solve this problem or there's a way to fix it?
And how about boot loop? There's a way to fix it permanently or what? Or it only affects to some phone? I saw some thread burn the phone to make the phone come back to life, but I see in YouTube there's a guy who only replace his battery and the phone come back to life. So what the cause of boot loop for G Flex 2?
Also I want to know about the code name of G Flex 2 f510 battery. Before I bought the phone I want to make sure I can find the replacement for it, but I only see the battery for H950, Ls960 etc.... I know that the battery is BL T16, so the F510 also use that kind too or another? For this one I try to google as well but see nothing about it.
I hope all the owner of this phone could help me ??
It's a great phone, I like it very much ! Using with MarshMallow it's European version.
Never met with the problems what is discuss here!
Hi bro,
It's 3GB Ram? You're using H955?
The F510 also uses the BL-T16 battery.
About the bootloops: I've heard that the bootloops and the sudden deaths both come from the same issue: LG's bad soldering on
the motherboard. Both my G Flex 2's died this way not very long after I bought it.
I updated to Marshmallow and still had the overheating issue.
About the brightness: I've never thought it was an issue. I did notice, however, that the lowest brightness was still brighter than the LG G4's lowest brightness.
Overall, I'd say to stay away from this phone and get a Nexus 6P or Galaxy S7.
Haha, but I'm in love with this phone lol. Anyway, does f510 come with 3gb of ram?
There are 2 versions: one with 2GB and another with 3GB. The 2GB version is MUCH more common though; I have only seen 1 3GB. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much bro
Good phone overall, i loved it... Before it bootloped.. Been using it for 1.5years. Now i had to buy galaxy a5 2017,cause my flex is in the servis. If the flex is only viable option in your budget, buy it. Its still kinda a power house phone.
Do you know what the cause of boot loop?
2GB. H955. Never using to long period, never over heating it !
No game playing with it, only phone, navigation, web and mail.
So H959 is better than H950?
the cpu ...snapdragon 810 and & 808 are bad.. but its good...when they fix it
And do you know how to fix it?
it bootloop on me and lagged like hell 4 to 5 months after I got it. Snapchat was painful to use. Camera was decent. upgraded to an Samsung.a
My sleep policy for wifi is set to never which means after certain period is set to off. When screen is of it should me on immediately. Unfortunately it is not, it takes ten or more seconds to switch wifi back (or not at all!)
Network setting reset did not help. Any thoughts? Is it worth to change that policy? On Pixel 2xl it's not even there [emoji16]
