1-I have the 3/32 vsersion for somedays, and most of the time my EAM is over 70%, identified by a nice small circular icon that show the % and by touching it I can relaease big part of the RAM.
How can I allocate the apps that is occupying the RAM and de activate it.
It seems that tiuching the retuen button does not close the app, only exit but leave it on.
2- I am not using the fingerprint yet, what is the use of it except security ?

Note - this App requires root (to allow floating a display on top of another application)
Why do you need it:
When you’re using GPS for navigation, battery % can drop rapidly if not charging. Battery temperature can increase rapidly if you are charging.
This App will allow you to monitor those without leaving your GPS or navigation (or any other) application
What does it look like:
(see screenshot)
This app places a small transparent indicator block “floating” on top of all other applications.
The indicator includes the following (see screenshot)
Battery % remaining (was 50% in the screenshot)
Battery Temperature in degrees F (was 95F in screen shot).
Time of last update (was 20.34 = 8:34pm in screen shot).
Updating and closing:
The values are automatically updated every 2 minutes (%, temperature, and update time)
If you get impatient, tap the top number (% remaining), and you will force an update.
To close the application and remove the floating display, click on the red X on lower right-hand corner of the indicator block.
Tips:
Open this App (floating battery temp/% monitor) before you open your GPS / navigation application, so you don't have to leave GPS/Nav and come back to it.
Possible Future Enhancements:
Allow the location of the scene to be moved.
Allow customization of the info displayed on the floating bar.
Audible alarms for high-temperature or low % remaining based on user-programmable setpoints

Using Tasker and App Factory by Crafty Apps

Personal:
I am not a programmer, but Tasker and App factory make it easy.
This is my first "App" that I have shared.
I found it useful. Hope you will to. But interested in any comments...
Feedback sought:
Is it a helpful app?
Are there other apps that already do the same thing?
Any problems or unexpected behavior using this app?
Any suggestions for improvement?
Thanks
Changelog:
9/16/12 - Post Rev 0 (BattFloatScrR0.2.apk)
Memory Impact
I have noticed that this App is not particularly memory-friendly. Specifically:
1 - It auto-loads whenever you boot your phone
2 - It has an associated "service". (Services are generally higher priority than Apps and not readily unloaded from memory, once loaded)
3 - The combined size of App and service is 8MB
I'm not sure whether this is the default behavior for Apps generated using Tasker App Factory, or whether it is instead a result of some input that I provided to App Factory. I will that investigate that further and report back.
In the mean time, for anyone concerned about memory usage for this app, I would suggest to use Gemini Apps manager (*) to disable all auto-run features for this App. Also, once you have manually launched and later closed the the Floating Battery Monitor App, if you want to gain back the 8MB memory without rebooting you'd have to go into Settings/Applications and kill the service/application.
* Gemini Apps manager is a great free App to accomplish blocking apps/services that auto-run at boot and at other times. I also use it to prevent Google Maps from auto-loading on boot (in the case of Google maps, blocking autostart saves not only memory, but also battery due to partial wakelocks from google maps application when loaded). Preventing an App from auto-loading at boot doesn't interfere with operation of the program at all (it may take a fraction of a second longer to load the first time you manually launch the program after boot, but it's well worth it to avoid loading unneeded programs/services at boot imo).
Anyone here gotten low memory warnings? I've seen them pop up three times in as many days. I'm usually running a few active tasks with some push services in the background, but nothing that should be consuming massive amounts of RAM. Anytime this happens, by the time I get to the settings menu to check the running apps the used/free indicator is sitting at about the midway point. I'm thinking of using a desktop widget to give me quick access to the memory usage and task list but while I search for one that will actually be hepful I figured I should poke the community to see if anyone else has seen this.
Never seen such messages here.
To monitor free RAM and what's running use a simple app like Task Manager.
Do you kill most of the cached apps? If not, one of those may be keeping memory hogged. (top right when you're in Running Apps menu under settings). Don't kill all of them, but things like media, Google search and apps can be killed.
Does it mean the RAM memory or the internal SDmemory? I've never seen the warning, but it could be referring to too little free mamory space.

It means RAM... have plenty of actual storage space. As for killing processs, I tend not to worry about that since Android is supposed to take care of them for me. Cached apps *should* be cleared when RAM gets low. I'm wondering if the low memory warning is being triggered before the system has time to reclaim resources. In other words, the threshold is reached, android starts to kill cached threads but it takes longer than it should so the warning pops up before the cleaning process completes. This would explain why the RAM shows around 50% usage right after I see the message. Well, if no one else is seeing anything like this it could just be some combination of processes I'm running that are holding on to things longer than they should.
I was just wondering about how this setting actually works in real terms if anyone could explain it to me.
I installed the device maintenance settings widget on a screen just so I could press the optimise device button now and again. I assumed it would just close apps & processes to free up memory etc.
I've noticed that I've looked at the widget now & again and it says, for example, 1.5gb free ram. Then I press the optimise button and it says 1.4gb free ram after optimisation. How can optimising give you less memory than you started with?
I'm obviously not familiar with how all this works so thanks for any enlightenment from anyone who knows how it works.
Hi, I have a problem with RAM management, or keeping an app running in the background to be more specific. I'm running stock EMUI 4.1.
If I have too many apps opened and stored in RAM (like 5+ or so; such as fb, messenger, email, youtube, instagram, ...), it often causes restart of the apps while switching between these apps I have already opened and stored in RAM. Even if it shows I have 1,5 GB RAM free. What's the point in high RAM capacity in phones (3-6 GB thesedays) when even with that much RAM (and that much FREE RAM) the phone isn't able to hold them really "opened" in RAM all and the apps "reloads" (as if it was launched for the first time) when you try to recall/launch them (quickly, but still).
It doesn't bother me that much generally, but only with one app - GPS tracking apps. After some time (maybe 1-2 hours) it always "drops" the app from RAM (it's still in recent apps though) therefore deleting my existing workout and tracked route. It's annoying. And yes I have the tracking apps selected in "protected apps". It happens still. Once I rebooted the phone, cleared apps stored in RAM so the only app running was Runkeeper. I went cycling and after some time (1-2 hours) I stopped, took the phone out of pocket, turned the display on, clicked on the GPS tracking app and it started to reopen/reload itself and once it reopens -> no trace of my existing workout, everything was gone. All of that with ~2.2 GB of free RAM.
What good does 2.2 GB of "free RAM" do when the phone isn't able to keep the only running app in the background for few hours? I tried many GPS tracking apps, happens always. It didn't happen with my Moto G (1st gen.; 2013) with 1 GB of RAM, but it happens with a lot newer and better phone with 4 GB of RAM?
Any tips for that, anyone? Please?
Don't know if this will help or not. Had a similar issue with a music player app. Gave it permission access for 'Phone'. Did not happen again till now. You can try that out.
You can also try Setting>Apps>Settings>Special Access>Ignore Battery Optimization>'Your App'>Allow
My phone takes about 3 sec to open apps very annoying is there a way to fix it
I'd suggest opening your favorite/most commonly used apps locking them in the recents app list and that should really help you with any noticable lag. Also I'd make sure you have ram optimization on. Coming from a LG G6 to this OP7 pro 8gb of ram paired with the 855 this thing is a monster and mine rarely ever studders to open an app. I also keep my phone in power save mode 90% of the time but set the apps I use the most to not be optimized along with locking them in the background
